A word from the experienced. 1. If going to to do the boat trip in Milford Sound, buy mosquito repellent in Christchurch! Cheaper that way. 👍 2. Allow 2.5 hours ahead of the boat departing time to drove the 100km from TeAnau to Milford! This road is a conveyor belt of busses and, even when you can overtake one, it only puts you behind the next bus in front. Chill and enjoy the drive, safe in the knowledge that if the bus could go faster, it would! Extra local knowledge credit. Take some empty water containers with you. Locate and remember Monkey Creek. Stop on the way BACK. (For easy reference it’s at the bottom of the hill after exiting the Homer tunnel). The stream, from which the creek is named, is glacial melt water and some one the nicest water you’ll ever drink! 👍 Have fun, stay safe. 💕
Having traveled extensively, I understand your concerns about keeping healthy. It's a lot harder to do when you're constantly on the go. I'm sure your audience understands when you need to take time to feel better. If you don't, it'll just get worse, and we won't have any wonderful Tia & Cheveyo videos to watch, so please take care. ^^
Another underrated gem of South Island is Mount Aspiring. Though I believe its core attraction, the blue pools, are temporarily closed. Also consider visiting Hokitika Gorge.
It is a shame you'll miss South Westland - it is a spectacular road. And on the way back from Invercargill, go through the Catlins to Balclutha and not up State Highway 1 through Gore.
As far as sciatica is concerned, take it from someone who has had it a few times in the past, there's exercises you can try - as long as it's not too painful to do them. Lay flat on the floor or bed. One leg bent so that the sole of the foot is flat. With your other leg remaining straight, lift it as high as you can - supporting it with your hands behind the knee. Don't pull the leg up with your hands - just support it. You will find that if you do it a few times you'll be able to lift it a little further each time. Also, stand a few feet away from the back of a chair or a kitchen counter. Place your hands on it and walk backwards until you have created a 90 degree angle at the hip joints. Hold it for a few seconds. You will feel the tension in your calf muscles. Then walk back toward the counter or chair while supporting your weight until you can stand upright without straining your back-muscles or spine. Also talk "somebody" into giving you a massage with the ball of the hand in the lower back. If nobody is available for a massage, then stand against a wall with a hard rubber ball in the small of your back and move so the ball rolls around the small of the back.
This might be too late, but - don't miss the glaciers on the West Coast! Mt Cook/Aoraki is great, but the glaciers a day or two north of there are worth a visit too. Christchurch is still recovering from the earthquake many years ago.
We ran into the same issue healthy food wise during our 3 year trip. At some point we started eating rice bowls in the morning with lots of veggies, avocado boiled egg and sometimes chicken. It was a life changer in that during lunch we didn't need as much food, usually some fruit or a simple snack would suffice until dinner. Fun video as always guys, looking forward to seeing your impressions of New Zealand!
Overnight oats are a quick healthy breakfast. Add chia seeds, flaxseed meal and cinnamon or anything you want to give it a boost. Love your vids so much ❤️
I second this! But for people who are not used to eating oats, they might not get used to its texture. The trick is to add some structure into it like adding nuts or fruits so you are not just chewing mushy oats all the time 😆
@@keangwooichoo6138 Oats do not have gluten but the machinery or equipment used to process the oats were probably "contaminated" with other wheat products causing reactions. They have a protein called avenin which is similar to that of gluten but it is not common for gluten intolerance people to get reaction from it..
Came here to say this, too- For lunch I've been mixing muesli and almond milk with chia seeds and flaxseed meal, nuts, unsweetened coconut, dried apples and berries and/or banana pieces. So filling and full of vitamins and nutrients. Most of these things travel well and for a long while so can be moved from one local to the next and just pick up the fresh fruit and milk as you go.
Concerning food... when I was solo road tripping the south island, I brought some reusable zip lock bags and a takeaway container. That way I could bring nuts and cut up veggies with me on the go. And for lunches I would make a double quantity of whatever I cooked the night before and put the leftovers in the container. It just requires a bit of pre planning.
I have been to NZ quite a few times, mainly on work assignments but also to assist with running a 9 days Bike ride. Wellington is by far my favourite city or town. Plenty of opportunities to go on some long and interesting walks.
The drive over the Takaka Hill is VERY windy, but the trip is worth it. Te Waikoropupu Springs are definitely worth the visit. We're having nice weather in this area right now, so hope you guys enjoy the stay 🙂
Another example of when we make plans the Universe laughs! Despite all, you both keep smiling and continue to exude positivity! Having only ever explored the North Island, am excited to see the South Island through your eyes - so far it’s as picturesque as I had heard/was expecting! As far as healthy breakfast and lunches, was thinking fruit and vegetable based shakes - banana, honey and peanut butter with milk of choice is a favourite go to for me - perhaps even invest in a cheap small Bullet-type blitzer for breaky and if you can afford, and if convenient, find a Boost Juice bar or similar for lunch - very filling and sustainable! Here’s hoping your back doesn’t give you any more grief Tia!
Muesli no sugar. Carry it with you with lots of nuts. Occasional poached eggs in nice cafe! You used to post video every three days. Will you go back to this? Love you guys. From Aussie 70's person who spent 20s and 30s travelling everywhere!
A fjord is an underwater valley carved by glaciers which continued to excavate the valley below sea level. Like a fjord, a sound is a valley that has been filled with sea water but due to sea level rise or seismic activity causing the land to sink below sea level. The Marlborough Sounds are mostly true sounds and Fiordland sounds are mostly true fiords
Blame Cpt.Cook. Being English, he tended to name all narrow, deep water inlets, ‘Sounds’. So, even having named the area Fiordland, he went on to name the fiords, Sounds. 😳 And, to add insult to injury, he also named some extensive Fiords as ‘Inlets’! 😱
My Aussie sister lives in Nelson....what a beautiful part of the world. I've been there once for a couple of weeks....and did a few day trips from there. Stunning!
You’re close to one of my favourite towns in NZ; Nelson. The Fjords of NZ are are the other side completely near Te Anau. As many have said, if you need to reset your visa, simply head to Christchurch (you’d need to be travelling clockwise), park car in short term, do a 3 hour flight to any Australian city (suggest a cheap jetstar to Sydney), then fly back. Car dealers like this are common. As you’ve come to realise, New Zealand imports second hand cars directly from Japan. It’s certainly Japanese rather than Chinese primarily because both countries drive on same side of road so almost no changes are required for Japanese vehicles (like your BMW), being imported. With such a high number of Japanese car brands, repair of Japanese brands are also reasonably priced. Australia doesn’t have the same grey import laws.
We've noticed a ton of Japanese market vehicles so this totally makes sense. The dealer behind our hotel was a BYD dealer specifically, which is a Chinese manufacturer.
G'day Guys, As #1 said, some of the walking and camping trails are some of the best, Milford Track in particular., in my opinion. Though Tia's back and Visa limitations might be a consideration here. If traveling by car, then going to from Lake Te Anau to Milford Sound through Homers Tunnel is well woth it, and a boat ride down the Sound is really good too. Not sure if it is still running, but one of the cruiser boats does a couple of hours fishing at the mouth of the Sound also. I would travel up and visit Fox Glacier also. A flight over Mt Cook is really good, and if you can afford a helicopter, then they normally land up somewhere up there. In regards to eating healthy, well for the evening meal we regularly buy a stirfry mix from the supermarket, add some onions, a large handful of nuts, and mushrooms and olive oil, and when plating up, a large dollop of humus on top for good meeasure, and you're good to go. The secret is to cook the onions and nuts first up and through out to keep the temperature low. You don't need any meats. It's super cheap and takes less than 10mins to prepare! Anyway, have fun and can't wait for your next instalment. Cheers Peter @ Canberra Australia.
😊👍 sciatica is no joke, I had two back surgeries. I highly recommend Turmeric capsules for pain relief, it helps with inflammation. Anyway, when shoveling snow I would feel like a broken old man but when I take Turmeric I am all good. Maybe it can help Tia as well. Cheers!
Ahh, my Sweet things - I have been enjoying your videos since you came to Australia. You don't need to be sorry about anything!! Thank you for taking me along on your journeys, I always feel better after watching your posts - Be Well good people.
I've not used one, but those BlendJets look pretty good for smoothie making on the go. They're lightweight and rechargeable, so you can drive off somewhere and blend anywhere! Genius! Oh, and boiled eggs - if you're staying somewhere, just boil a heap of them and keep them in the fridge for a week. As long as you're keeping low calorie protein and greens, and fibre higher than your carbs, you'll feel better.
hello!! wonderful videos of your travels!! I"m from Christchurch and if you happen to come here, hope we can see you! it's lovely here in South Island especially going down Arrowtown, Wanaka, Queenstown, Lake Tekapo...Hope you enjoy your travel here!!
A Fjord is carved by a glacier a Sound is an inlet from a greater body of water. Technically the Sounds in Fjordland are all Fjords. Hope you enjoyed Aotearoa/New Zealand and return one day, thanks for coming.
Oh Tia - I had Acupuncture on my lower back more than a few years ago & it worked miraculously with no pain since! That was 2-decades ago!!! Just something to think about...it was amazing!
I used to buy local fruit from the farmers and quickly whip up a mixed fruit salad in the mornings before my adventures, perfect snack food for the day!
Did this in April, flew to Wellington, ferry to Picton but then train to Christchurch, travelled around the island then caught the train from Greymouth across the alps back to Christchurch, loved it.
Did you go to the Weta Studio workshop while you were there? It’s where the sfx for LOTR, District 9 and many other movies were done. I found it very good.
Ahh, you are coming to Chch! Hope to see you around :) Sushi is always a quick and easy option for lunch, or a vietnamese bakery for some rice paper rolls or bahn mi. Lots to do in Chch but recommend a visit to Riverside market for a Dimitris Souvlaki (not a uber healthy option but it does have a good amount of lettuce in it). On your way down south, stop off at Fairlie Bakery for a pie - one of the best I've found. You'll absolutely love the drive down towards Wanaka and Queenstown. If you see a sign for a real fruit icecream, definately grab one of those too (I'm looking at you, Tia!) Enjoy, looking forward to more videos... hope you manage to get to do some hikes!
It's good that you also show the less fun sides of travelling, this is reality unfortunately! But you manage really well and stay positive. NZ is a dream I hope I can fulfill one day. And I thinnkkk, cheveyo's sister and brother in law are coming to join you, that's my guess haha! Enjoy NZ, both of you are amazing 💛
Oh no! I hope Tia’s sciatic pain is gradually going. Take care. I know the pain. You both seem a little flat. NZ hasn’t been so kind to you. Despite everything it is such a beautiful country. I hope the sun continues to shine for you and you can enjoy its natural beauty. Keep smiling. You’re such a great couple and we’re loving your videos. 🥰
Hi guys Try taking , multivitamin tablets I know how difficult it can be to eat healthy when travelling. Avocado 🥑and Vegemite on toast for breakfast, with plenty of butter. very very thin spread Vegemite.
BMW's motto is "pure driving pleasure", and it is. So much fun to poke a Beemer around bendy roads. And yeah - the south island is magnificent. A fjord is a drowned glacial valley. NZ has lots of them - Slartibartfast worked hard. I really hope that you manage to get down to the wonderful Milford Sound and the south end.
Having watched all your Aussie videos and now starting on the NZ part of your trip just letting you know that I am loving following you!! What an amazing journey you guys are on, I hope you look back on these memories, encounters and experiences (even the bumps in the road) with fondness, excitement and love!! Staying healthy BOTH mentally and physically is so damn important and so necessary! Making sure you are getting all the nutrients would be hard from a financial point, in the little travel experience I have had I do find going to supermarkets and getting pre-made salads, ham and cheese for sandwiches is good. I am not sure if you do have one but getting an esky would prove to be a game changer, you can keep things a bit fresher (you can usually get ice from petrol stations) or get little ice packs to put in the freezer overnight for the times you do to hotels. Sorry I have rambled on but that is just my tip :) keep smiling, you are both amazing humans and so damn gorgeous (if I had ONLY known you before when you were in Melbourne I would have LOVED to have met up!! Anyway love you guys!! You are shining lights ☀☀love and light to you both ❤❤love Rosie xxx
Hey Rosie! Thanks so much for the kinds thoughts and also for the tips. We do have an eskie, and you're right it has helped immensely. Good thought on the pre-made salads, too 😊
When you’re cooking your protein at night, add enough for lunch the next day. It’s easy in the mornings to make up wraps with some salad when packing a lunch cooler with an ice pack. Wholegrain foods keep you fuller for longer: multigrain breads and wraps, sour dough bread, switch to brown rice, oats and quinoa. As does eggs and protein meats and cheese; eggs in your breakfast, with a wholegrain carb and a protein like bacon or ham will carry you through until lunch; as does oats for breakfast with the addition of some nuts and fruit and a dollop of yoghurt. At dinner time when you’re tired and travel weary, stir fries are fine and tasty for dinner, but energy intensive. If your accomodation has an oven, try one tray baking, which gives you time to relax for a bit. Add your protein (could be chicken pieces or chops or sausages or a slow cooking steak) and chopped veges, onions, mushrooms and cook in oven for about an hour. You can pour in a packet of gravy to heat through, or I actually love to add the baked meat and veges to a salad with some feta or goats cheese…
When you guys make dinner do chia pudding for breakfast it’s so easy to do and if you have them in like a jar they travel pretty well, burritos/wraps are a good bread alternative. Fresh fruit helps so much I enjoy oranges as a snack when traveling then don’t go weird in the car like an apple. Veggie sticks like carrots, celery cucumber capsicum/bell pepper with some tasty olives and a bit of cheese is my what my mum gave us when we’d do road trips just so we weren’t eating junk in the car but at roadhouses it was chicko rolls or toasties.
Once you get your friends go across to grey mouth then head south Franz Josef and fox glaciers not to be missed and Milford sound is awesome would be such a shame to go to Nz and miss these things
Nice to see the trip you have planned. Some awesome places to catch when you are in the Southland region are Awarua Bay (sunset), Oreti Beach (sunset), Nugget Point lighthouse (sunrise) and McLean Falls. I visit them all reasonably frequently for photography and they are very scenic. You won't regret them. Happy travels. John Pouw, Invercargill.
There are a lot of sandwich ideas or meals you can make to go on my channel, but first. Get a small zip lock bag and put ice in it, then put you lunch in a plastic container or cling wrap, then put both in a large zip lock plastic bag and put it in you back pack. My favourite is to make a Caesar salad and put it in a plastic container. You can eat well and on the go, just have a plan.
The word «fjord» is Norwegian. It means a body of water that connects to the sea and contains salt water. The origin of the word is «ferdes» which means to travel. It is from a time when people used boats to travel and land was an obstacle. There are also major inland lakes with the word fjord in local dialects, but in modern Norwegian a fjord always contains seawater. Greetings from Norway!
Hi guys, just a quick idea, apart from Milford and the great areas in Fiordland, Catlins National Park in the SE from Bluff. The waterfalls in the park , Matai, Niagara and McLeans falls, and the wonderful Purakaunui Falls. Part of my fav natural things to see. As you looking a Bluff, if your interested in motorbikes, drop into Invercargill and see the Worlds Fastest Indian motorbike, there is a movie about the the man with Anthony Hopkins which might wet you appetite if takes you fancy one evening. A few ideas down that way I’ve found when on trips to NZ
The thing that stung Tia sounds more like a wasp. We have a number of species and if you go near their nest, which can often be quite small, they will sting you as a warning to keep away, even if you weren't really close. I noticed you don't butter your bread before adding condiments and fillings, which seems to be the norm in the States. However, you should try good old NZ butter, as it adds another dimension to a tasty sandwich!😋
Ahhh you kids are just living a good life.......sorry about your sting Tia..."maybe North Island is better". chuckles..........safe travels....sending good vibes from Perth, Western Australia
I have sciatica too from a slipped disc, so I know the pain of it. I hope it settles for you Tia. I love watching your vids... looking forward to seeing more of NZ. I have only ever been to Christchurch.
Hi have eggs for breakfast with avocado toast you have several ways to cook them depending on accomodation .. cheap abd pleb Nay of protein vitamins 😊🙋🏻♀️
The drive from Wanaka to Haast River Viewpoint is absolutely world class. Rugged, pristine and remote. Can do it return in a day, in a hurry. I hope you consider it if your visa allows. Also, fruit. Lazy healthy meal. Enjoy NZ :)
I visited a friend in Wellington some years ago. Really liked the funky vibe but had the same experience as you: the weather started out beautiful and turned to crap the day of our ferry trip. Bloody freezing 😂 Cheers from across the ditch in Melbourne 😊
If you don't have any allergies, you can probably try snacking on unsalted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc.) and dried fruits (raisins, sultanas, cranberries, etc.) in order to get some healthy fats into your diet. Getting fresh fruits (bananas, fresh berries, etc.) would also be great too. I also feel that you generally cover a reasonable amount on foot (especially when you're hiking up and down mountains and hills), so the moving/exercising part for each of your days is more or less sorted. Otherwise, you can also try walking up and down the main street in whichever small town that you're staying in, before heading back to the hotel/motel/Air BnB to rest. As with everything, it may take some getting used to. But it won't feel like much of a chore once it becomes a habit or routine. Wishing you fun and safe travels, and keep up the great work! 👍
Add milk to muesli and soak overnight eat with bananas - sausages and baked beans. Tuna with brown bread or add vinegar to the oil from the can to make salad dressing.
Hope ur back heals quickly Tia!! ❤ So glad you both eat more salads , bet it does get hard to do what you do! Will think of some good eats! Love you both, mom
Fantastic shots of the sounds! For a healthy breakfast try weetbix and/or fruit with yoghurt. For lunch put together a salad with leafy greens, whatever other veggies you like (things like carrot sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes are easy to transport) and cooked chicken/fish/hard-boiled eggs/cheese for protein. Ham isn't the most healthy meat, so maybe avoid that. For carbs add some potato or pasta salad or some crackers as a change from bread. If you need to reset your visa then you should be able to find a cheap flight to Melbourne or Sydney, stay overnight and go back the next day.
Sorry to hear about Tia’s sciatic pain and I trust it's gone now and for those of us who have it or lower back issues we empathise :) So looking forward to your drone shots and others as you wind your way across the Island. My breakfast (for what it's worth..lol) is 2 Weetbix, Strawberries, Blueberries & Yohurt and warm milk. May be possible when not camping and it gets me through to lunch. :) Happy Trails and stay well guys ..Noel
Ok you asked for some health tips: since I'm in my 50's I've been eating snacks of JIF Creamy Peanutbutter on apple slices & wheat crackers to keep things healthy during the day/evening and away from fast food items. Good luck and stay healthy...I dig your videos & keep up the good work!
Another nice one, you two! It appears you didn't spend much (any?) time in Picton, once you drove off the ferry. In 1962/63, I was on a cruise on the SS Oriana, which called in to Picton. It had to anchor quite a distance from shore, though, considering its size (42,000 tons). Anyway, it was certainly windy there. There was a 'wishing well' in a park by the shore, etc. I found it an intriguing place. Now, you want something yummy and nutritious......how about Vegemite, cheese and tomato sandwiches? (I prefer Roma tomatoes but....) I'm looking forward to seeing your next 'report'. All the best!
Urghh, poor Tia! One foot on the dining chair, lean forward stretching and adjust hip until you feel the stretch! Hard to do but avoid bread! Eggs are a good way to go. NZ dairy is so rich it tends to put the 'beef' on your bum lol so careful on the cheese too. Lots of nuts for snacks. Enjoy Nelson. If there on Saturday, go to the city markets but you MUST take the Split Apple Rock boat tour up through Tasman Bay. We came across a pod of 30+ dolphins and loads of seals. Also check out Eyebright country store, park and guinea pig town (in one place)
In NZ we have ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation). It is a no-fault scheme covers everyone, including visitors, who are injured in an accident in Aotearoa New Zealand. It can include events that result in mass casualties, and covers children, beneficiaries, and students. You're covered if you're working, unemployed, or retired. If you qualify, your medical costs are paid for by ACC, even if you are in NZ on a temporary visa to visit, study or work. The injury must be because of an accident. ACC does not cover things like illness, conditions from ageing and emotional issues
The best way to eat a proper diet and be healthy is to ignore all the gimmick foods. Eat a high amount of protein for breakfast(bacon and eggs type things) cut out the carbs and sugar. When you eat more protein you will be satiated all day and not looking for food when you are out. Cutting out the carbs and sugar will help your overall health and help Tis reduce the inflammation in her back. Best of luck on your trip around NZ, we loved it especially down both coasts of the South Island. The sand is black in some places. Amazing place!
FRUIT! Eat more fruit! Get your fiber, vitamins, flavor. Kinda hard to do on the South Island variety wise, but it's how I keep up with healthier eating while traveling. Esp. when you have your own wheels, you should always have a bag of fruit to snack on or to chase a meal. BTW, on my trip to NZ, my bus service (Kiwi Exp) got into two accidents just getting out of Auckland. Also, I assume you've read about the plague that are the black flies on the South Island. Be prepared (head nets, long pants with tight weave socks that can roll over the pant cuffs, etc.). Better to look sorry than be a buffet.
I one more person adding the those chronic lower back pains since a teen and have a lot of sympathy for you Tia. I'm late 20s would get bad flare ups when stagnant and after not getting much help for gp's I recently tried acupuncture and it was great! TCM (traditional chinese medicine) has helped me with it a lot as it also tells you what type of foods, teas and exercises are good for you. The amount of traveling and driving you two do would toll on your health and eating on a budget and on the road makes it hard to recover faster and keep up strength. It might be worth budgeting for vitamin and supplements while you travel to make up for the limited diet. Vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, probioticsis & fish oils are good ones for traveling. Try having ginger tea in the mornings to get your blood circulating on a long driving day or everyday if possible or buying miso soup packs and having that in the morning. Don't really have food travel ideas sorry, maybe canned tuna salad, just mixed greens and a small can of tuna lots of flavours now or a chicken avo salad. Like someone said a nice bath is great but might be rare opportunity on the road. For real, you should get a basic foldable foot and do a warm foot bath in the morning or before bed. Circulation is really important with all the traveling and foot baths feel great for that. The more traveling you do the better it is to start focusing on health now and keeping in it in mind when planning.
Ok guys.....just a heads up....Make sure you do the Hooker track, Milford Track...Roy's Peak and the Lake Marian track ( oh...and the bakery in Wanaka and Te Anau ). The Cascade Creek campground is the best one for getting to Milford Sound early...
Soak oats with , raisins and cranberries. Use any fluid , soya milk, etc. store at room temp in a covered bowl. No worries. Add a banana in morning. If you want it hot, nuke it.. I’m spoiled I don’t like anything else. Easy to transport and eat on the road if necessary
Love your content guys, and have followed you through lots of your travels. But at the end of your NZ trip I hope you take some time out. You need to refresh and have some time for yourselves. This video was really flat, and I feel it's because you both need a break. Take care of yourselves, but looking forward to seeing more of the beautiful South Island x
I usually do fruit for breakfast and a muesli bar /Granola bar and then a salad wrap for lunch. Trail mix, dried fruit, green smoothies. I feel like you guys both eat well already?
Tia, I have back issues too. I find the support and relaxing warmth of a long hot bath to be helpful. Also gentle walking - although not sure if that helps with the sciatic nerve, as my problems are further up. Also, there are hot pools in Hanmer Springs, which might be nice to soak in, although I don't think you are going that way (something for the future, if you desire it).
Your videos are getting better and better. Your production values are great. Your Narrative is relatable, and down right charming. Do take care of yourselves. When I am on the road. I tend to start off with a large breakfast, chased with some caffeinated fuel. The rest of the day is about hydration, and nibbles of fruit, nuts, and such. and more caffeinated fuel if needed. Ta Da time for dinner. PS Cheveyo Digging the long hair.
I eat shatshuka for breakfast every day, totally healthy. I agree lunch is always harder. I usually just have a ham cheese and lettuce sandwich most days at work 😢
Healthy meals while travelling abroad, me and my husband fav topic. Our version of healthy lunch, 3 or 4 hard boil eggs, 1 avocado, sliced ham, cheddar cheese and rockets leaves on wholemeal bread, wee at also some black olives and almond nuts. For dinner - protein (beef/salmon/chicken), stir fry or grill it on pan, pair with a bowl hot soup :D. It's handy with having a car to store food provision that isn't used up immediately. And oh, full dairy greek yogurt to keep the guts happy! :)
There used to be a hotel where Te Papa is now. It's called the Museum hotel or hotel de wheels. They jacked it up and moved the hotel across the road on rails so Te Papa could be built there. Just a we story for ya lol
A word from the experienced.
1. If going to to do the boat trip in Milford Sound, buy mosquito repellent in Christchurch! Cheaper that way. 👍
Have fun, stay safe.
That was awesome! Thanks!
I am glad Tia didn’t get sea sick on the ferry. I did. My friend told me that it was the only time he has ever seen me stop talking!
Overnight oats are a quick healthy breakfast. Add chia seeds, flaxseed meal and cinnamon or anything you want to give it a boost. Love your vids so much ❤️

Midnight watching. Let's Roll Lisa and Josh. 👌
Thank you for the food ideas 🙂
We do plan to go back to every 3 days sometime soon!
Queenstown and Arrowtown they are truly beautiful and shouldn’t be missed 😊
Beautiful time lapse on the ferry and shots of the fiords. Thanks. 🪰🦂
Actually they're sounds, not fiords.. the difference being fiords are carved by glaciers and sounds are flooded river valleys.. :)
Thanks guys. I lived in Wellington for 10 years in the 70s, before moving back to Australia, It’s a lot better now!!! enjoy.
Stunning!
✨ @12:12... Of course the town of Nelson is on top of the South Island.....
ALL the island's towns are on top of it. 😇
Hahahaha 😂
G'day Guys,
As #1 said, some of the walking and camping trails are some of the best, Milford Track in particular., in my opinion.
Cheers
Peter
@ Canberra Australia.
Cheers!
Fiords are made by glaciers and generally have steep sides…you’ll see these in Fiordland. What you are looking at is the Marlborough sounds.
I love the South Island especially in winter with the snow. You’ll get the summer version.
Hi, Tia & Cheveyo. Thanks for video.
My Lumbar plays up after years of competitive cycling, can bet set off with the smallest action. I feel for you Tia,hope it gets better.
Lisa and Josh Cant wait!
Thank you for your amazing video !
Love you guys❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much for doing what you do!!! I’m so happy for you and enjoy your adventures!!!
Avo toast for breaky and rice paper rolls for lunch, with nuts to snack on
Healthy diet would be beer, T Bone, chips with salad, or pork or lamb with beer.😁😁
LOL Can we fit some pizza in there somewhere? 😆
Now you are in the Sth Island, 30-40mins south of ChCh, is Rakaia, and a giant salmon.
Please make sure once you get south of Christchurch that you try cheese rolls! They are good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Southern specialty
New Zealand had its first WCA Rubik's Cube tournament at that museum in 2009. And then cubing tournaments came to Australia. Fun times 🙂
Tinned Red Salmon & Mayo,Egg & Lettuce. Cheese/Vegemite.Chicken Turkey & Salad.All on good fresh bread/rolls of course.😘
I love your videos no matter what you’re doing! Curious to know who’s joining you!!! Can’t wait!!
Best breakfast to have is fresh fruit, nuts and yogurt! Winning, light healthy and easy to prepare 🍓🍇🥝🥭🍒🥜🌰
I have sciatica too from a slipped disc, so I know the pain of it. I hope it settles for you Tia. I love watching your vids... looking forward to seeing more of NZ. I have only ever been to Christchurch.
Hi have eggs for breakfast with avocado toast you have several ways to cook them depending on accomodation .. cheap abd pleb
Nay of protein vitamins 😊🙋🏻♀️
Sorry you're in the wars Tia, hope you feel better soon. Healthy breakfast....vegemite on toast.
So funny that Cheeveyo is associating Tia's back to a BMW! A true car guy indeed! 🤣
Keep up your AG1, made in NZ, cheers love your work 😊
Add milk to muesli and soak overnight eat with bananas - sausages and baked beans. Tuna with brown bread or add vinegar to the oil from the can to make salad dressing.
Making dressing from the tuna oil is such a good idea! Thank you 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers could use a lemon instead of vinegar - also useful for travelling is sarsons vinegar and pouches of lime juice as they do not leak.
Hope ur back heals quickly Tia!! ❤ So glad you both eat more salads , bet it does get hard to do what you do! Will think of some good eats! Love you both, mom
If your visa is running out, just go fly to Australia for a night on a cheap flight and fly back and BAM visa is reset!
Please go to the Moeraki boulders and the historic port area of Oamaru (just north of Dunedin)
Love the way you guys make your bad days into something fun to watch & enjoyable ♥️
Ok guys.....just a heads up....Make sure you do the Hooker track, Milford Track...Roy's Peak and the Lake Marian track ( oh...and the bakery in Wanaka and Te Anau ). The Cascade Creek campground is the best one for getting to Milford Sound early...
Milford Track would be booked out for starters and would take three or four days.
@@strphenz Well...hopefully they've pre booked...and done their research...
Comedic. 😂
Fjords are valleys cut by glaciers
I usually do fruit for breakfast and a muesli bar /Granola bar and then a salad wrap for lunch. Trail mix, dried fruit, green smoothies. I feel like you guys both eat well already?
I like to start the day with porridge, with dried fruit in it, such as a few dates.
Low carb and fast between 7pm-noon.
I think you guys will enjoy Queenstown.
Tips for healthy sandwich alternative: Beef or lamb. Salt. Coffee. That's all you need. Seriously.
Appreciate you alls sharing ❤️ enjoying the videos 😁
Good call on the Greek yogurt! Thanks for the tips 😊
There used to be a hotel where Te Papa is now. It's called the Museum hotel or hotel de wheels. They jacked it up and moved the hotel across the road on rails so Te Papa could be built there. Just a we story for ya lol
