My beard and uncut hair is an act of devotion to God. It shows that I am acceptable the way God has made me, that I don't have to be tampered with to be acceptable. Hence it is also a religious teaching to society. No one has ever attained God through vanity. It is also an austerity or penance because sometimes you have to take abuse from people and institutions.
I studied under a Shankaracharya in India in 1974. He said why do you shave, it is just to be attractive to women, it is just sexual desire. I was very surprised. I believed that people with beards were hiding something, covering up some weakness in their facial features. Shaving was a form of honesty. As a young Englishman, I realised that the connotations of shaving were very different depending on your cultural background.

Overcoming fear in life. 🙏 Thank you for Sadguruh's wise words ❤
YOUR HAIR IS NOT A CAUSALITY! Our hair is the physical extension of our thoughts, it gives us direction throughout our lives; each of our hair represents ourselves, they are strong connection points both of our body and of our spirit according to indigenous peoples. Men and women of wisdom have long hair; on the other hand, in places where tyranny has been presented in any of its forms, short hair has been obligatory and this, together with other factors, has culminated in the spiritual and physical defeat of the peoples. Hair has its own language and character, and the way it is styled is extremely important to whoever wears it: The line in the middle represents the alignment of thought. The braid, the unity of thought with the heart. Loose hair means security. Hair up, conviction. Currently people comb their hair without knowing the meaning of their actions and the style in which it is used, hair is important because leaving vanity or practicality aside, the way you wear your hair will directly affect our mood. Going into the thinking of indigenous peoples we will find that the way of wearing hair combed was of utmost importance because this way their participation in various events was described and announced: marriage or war, joy or mourning. Through the hair and headdresses he wore, you could know the maturity of people, their status in society or the times of peace and war. Hairstyles were like the seasons; They changed on public, private, and ceremonial occasions. The hair represented the individual's thoughts and spiritual state; showing the bonds and spiritual unity of his family and defining the cultural harmony and spiritual alignment of his community. The hair represented the states of nature, flowed in a straight line like waterfalls, or rippled like river water. Indigenous children were taught to wash and rinse their hair. In the teachings of many indigenous tribes, cutting hair represented a process of mourning or proximity to death. Hair was a mystical element in all of them. They did not allow anyone to touch their hair without their permission. On the importance of long hair: For a long time, peoples of different cultures have not cut their hair, because it is a part of who they are. When the hair is allowed to reach its maximum length, then phosphorus, calcium, and vitamin D are produced, and enter the lymphatic fluid and finally the cerebrospinal fluid through two ducts in the upper part of the brain. This ionic change makes memory more efficient and leads to increased physical energy, increased endurance, and stoicism. If you decide to cut your hair, not only will this extra energy and nutrients be lost, but your body will need to provide a large amount of vital energy and nutrients to regrow lost hair. Also, the hairs are the antennas that collect and channel the energy of the sun or (prana) to the frontal lobes, the part of the brain that is used for meditation and visualization. These antennas act as conduits to achieve a greater amount of subtle energy, cosmic energy. It takes approximately three years from the last time the hair was cut to form new antennae at the tips of the hair. Wet hair: When you pick up wet hair, it will tend to shrink and pinch a little, and even break as it dries. A better idea is to take the time to sit in the sun once in a while and allow your clean, damp hair to dry naturally and absorb extra vitamin D. Yogis recommend washing your hair every 72 hours (or more frequently if your scalp sweats a lot). It may also be beneficial to wash your hair after being upset or angry, to help process emotions. Haircut: Often when people were conquered or enslaved, their hair was cut as a sign of slavery, helplessness, and humiliation. The bones of the forehead are porous and their function is to transmit light to the pineal gland, which affects brain activity, as well as the thyroid and sex hormones. Just as tribes and entire societies were conquered, the haircut became so prevalent that the importance of hair was lost after a few generations, and hairstyles and fashion became the focus. Closing cycles: Our hair, like every cell in our body, has a memory, which is why it is common that when we close a chapter of our life, our being asks us for a haircut, unconsciously due to the need for renewal, as when trees loosen their bark, until to regain its vitality. Wooden comb Yogis also recommend using a wooden comb or brush to comb your hair, as it offers a great deal of circulation and stimulation to the scalp, and the wood does not generate static electricity, causing a loss of energy. from the hair to the brain. You will notice that if you comb from front to back, back to front, and then several times to the right and to the left, it will refresh you, no matter how long your hair is. All the weariness of the day will be gone. For women, using this technique to comb hair twice a day is said to help maintain youth, a healthy menstrual cycle, and good eyesight. If you have balding problems, the lack of energy in your hair can be counteracted with more meditation. If you are finding some strands of silver (gray hair) in your hair, be aware that silver or white color increases the flow of energy and vitamins to compensate for aging. For brain health, as you age, try to keep your hair as healthy and natural as possible. It is said that when you allow the hair to grow to its full length and wind it around the crown of the head, the energy of the Sun, the prana, the vital energy, goes down the spine. To counter that downward trend, the Kundalini life energy rises to create balance. Your hair is not there by mistake. It has a purpose."

The fact that we have to make metals which took a lot of time and research to make shows that nature didn’t really intend for us to shave. Nothing wrong with shaving but like he said it came with a purpose for the body and to simply ignore it in then and of fashion is what causes problems.

This is incorrect and I'll explain.. first not all humans have beard, Indigenous men don't grow beards, our bodies are hairless and I can tell men from the middle east are in shocked when they see us shirtless and how clean and healthy our bodies are in comparison.. second most animals with hair shed, they remove old hair and grow new healthy hair. A human that tends to his body is in awareness.. nails must be trimmed, a human with 5 foot long nails is useless, teeth must be kept clean, a human with rotten teeth is in bad mood, hair must be brushed.. indigenous men spend hours brushing our hair.. the reason we clean our bodies is because we are fully connected to it and we care for it.. just like a home needs cleaning a body needs it to.

Actor Deverakonda should take lessons from the star of all superstars - Rajnikanth on how to enthrall audiences with his performances ( and different hairstyles) in every movie without actually having any hair. 😁

How about fingernail?
I love this guy, nature gave me it i just didnt do any thing about it.
Not a very deep woman was she.. Why the beard and long hair 😂, he is into the formless dimension of no form.. Why the hell wouldnt he embrace himself?!
Indeed
Hair can grown back. What about people who had thier foreskin cuf of?

Seeing this exactly after shaving beard :)
hahahaha
Shri krishna was clean shaven
We imagine it, no proof. No photograph available.
Lol I highly doubt he was clean shaven
@@bakul.paul. you think so? We have found his scriptures in dwarka.
You pic up any ancient scripture & see all deities are shown without beard & Rishi Muni have beard.
Shiv is clean shaved but in Aghoreshwar form he has beard.
Very interesting take on the subject, never tought of it this way!
Anyone knows where I can find the music that is used at the end of the video? :)
We cut nails too part of our body
That’s a different matter, when the nails turn gray what does that mean? It means it’s weak and dead cells not serving a purpose. When the nails have color it means it’s healthy, obviously long nails would be used for scratching things but you cannot compare nails to your hair in terms of importance and energy, your hair is a extension of your nervous system it runs along with the spine.
If you live naturally then the nails will be worn out due to usage .
@@srikm2992 awesome common sense!
Even Sadhguru cut his nails 😆
Ya still not convince ! But thanks for your try though
then don't wear clothes too. don't cut your nails don't cut your nails. don't bathe. just be natural. why only when it comes to beard you say shit like this. bcoz that is comfortable!
Ignorance of Mr Bhatt, you will think about this before you leave your body 🙏 u will know then
It is a radiant energy accumulator all the vril ladies did it ..... Like a William Reich accumulator box. It is our unity consciousness full of information for the prime field.

What about nails? It's also have a purpose v should cut it Or let it grow sadguru🙏
Is this a subliminal for long beard and hair
I’m thinking about the 1st woman & her beard in 4 years time 🤣 I’m sure Sadhguru saw her in the future. She sounded so surprised that men grew facial hair! ‘Is it a brand?’ 🤣 come on! You have 1 chance to speak to Sadhguru & this is what you ask? 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ what a waste!
No one has a right to make others look like a Fool !She know but he used it to make 🤩 off her, what a waste???Way!No waste at all!
✨🙏Namaskaram🙏✨
why was jiddu Krishnamurthy clean shave every day? was he not enlightened?
It’s not a defining factor or a necessity for an enlightened being to have long hair and facial hair, it just has its purpose
Does anybody know what is the titel of the song at the end of the vid? I would love to know...
i'd love to know the track name. if anyone knows please share Thanks

Why adiyogi does not have a beard??
Because nobody knows Adhi Yogi's childhood or old age, he is represented in such a way. That also symbolizes timelessness or time still. Though he is in human form, he is considered as yaksha swaroopa, not human being.
@@SuperParuthi yaa.. that is all.. but lord Rama, Krishna too.. they are human avataras

What about nails?
Nails is also important but we will living in different type of structure of society where nails become little off...but nails is helpful for those people who live in forest and do some kind of different work...🙂
🤬 Can't tell how much I hate facial hairs & body hairs except head & eyebrows on my body.
There is nothing unnatural about cutting one’s hair.
The fact that we have to make metals which took a lot of time and research to make shows that nature didn’t really intend for us to shave. Nothing wrong with shaving but like he said it came with a purpose for the body and to simply ignore it in then and of fashion is what causes problems.
Why did Shiva not have a beard???🤔 jus curious??
who said he doesn’t?
He is half man and half woman.
Some woman fear men with beards they get offended why should they get offended I don't know it's kind of weird to me maybe they want beards
Not the same conscious soul I was once drawn too...shame
he outside appearance and your perception are constantly changing, his state of being is fluently changing, but I can confirm, eventhough i remember having the same experience as you a while back, he is still exactly the same conscious soul today XD the context and situation also massively impact how he behaves, so if you havent met him yet and compare him in a loose and funny situation to him in a moment of talking about serious subjects, of course you see a massive difference :)

What about buddist Monks?
yes even isha monks shave their hair like he said

So he doesn't cut his nails?
Those are extensions of the hands, useful for cutting, screwing, and tightening: more articulative that is the physical extension of the body; the hair on your skin is sensitive to hydroelectrostatic forces and the hair on your head is conductive of electromagnetic fields
Itna sochne ki koi jarurat nhi h
What about men nipples?
Every man has nails too? Why has he himself trimmed them? Has nature given him nails that are useless?😂he’s just quick witted enough to twist everything. He’ll come up with an explanation that sounds deep, however stupid it is.
@@MrAsd012 nah, that’s not my point(that’s a different point, even though nature doesn’t give utilities, utilities evolve), he’s saying beard is given by nature and why we’re cutting it. I was simply asking, why he can’t keep that logic with his own nails? Why should he trim his nails(same as the hair, ‘given by nature’). I don’t mind either, you can grow or cut it , but his logic seems inconsistent.
Edit: 😂😂 original comment was : early cavemen had utility for long nails, if you could comprehend :) instead of being fast to comment.
Op deleted it.
Wow...Mumbo Jumbo and people buy this!
A human that tends to his body is in awareness.. nails must be trimmed, a human with 5 foot long nails is useless, teeth must be kept clean, a human with rotten teeth is in bad mood, hair must be brushed.. indigenous men spend hours brushing our hair.. the reason we clean our bodies is because we are fully connected to it and we care for it.. just like a home needs cleaning a body needs it to.
i think you caught a “L” on this one...you make no sense,by wanting to come across as smart you created the opposite effect.Generally all Humain has “hair”,beard is hair grown on some other body part.We Human also shed hair when : combing your hair, when washing it,when sleeping...countless other times.
Nails are trimmed because in this day and age its of no use,we have knife to cut our foods and have tree climbing gadgets...
@@maher.itorer I'm amazed at your lack of awareness.. so humans 2 thousand years ago had 6 foot nails? Humans 7 thousand years ago had 6 foot nails?... No, common sense guy.. humans have been cutting their hair and beard since the beginning of time, it's called grooming and maintenance. If you want to be a hairy then go right ahead, but when a groomed man looks 100x better than you don't insult his discipline on aesthetics.
@@pazzodi3 you’re so out of the discussion my dear friend. You’ll only get one last effort on my behalf to explain this to you.Yes our nails grew long(maybe not 6 feet) because we used/needed it to cut food, climb trees and defend ourselves, now we cut our nails because we dont need to do these things with them anymore....And 7thousand years ago what did Human use to trim their hairs? lol is this a joke.
we use our bodies(hair, skin, limbs ...) to do aesthetics but the body is a survival tool,it was not design for all that, wether beautiful or ugly it will help you survive.
@@maher.itorer guy why are you trying to convince anyone this nonsense, be hairy untrimmed and a mess.. nobody cares.. I'll keep grooming and you can keep looking a mess. If that makes you happy then I don't care.. if I enjoy being groomed why do you care, pathetic mindset to judge humans that like to look fresh

Don't cut your Nails. They too have a purpose.
You clearly misunderstood the whole thing but i dont blame you it is Human nature.
People cut their beard bcz they think they look smarter that way.
People cut their nails bcz it makes them look less dirty.
People do what they want.
Yogis have different approach toward beards. Now mere person like us cant judge them it is them who can judge what is better.
@@libertysquad8676 You are correct. Yogis have different perspective of everything. But unfortunately the same Beard is hiding lot of Masquerades. Leaving beard to grow without wasting time in shaving and tidying is way of life for Yogis. Some try to create an aura of wisdom which they know very well that they are devoid of. Beard is a sign of Vairagya in some .

How stupid answer, whoever is in his little sense will remove it, not for the fashion but for the hygiene, its more energy consuming to carry long hair and beard and facing itchiness all day long, rather than cleaning it at once and having the fresh energy to do the other task of life.
Sadhguru is a very sensible human being but don't know why sometimes he speaks very insensibly, which creates confusion about him in me.

He's saying you can cut and don't cut depending on the energy you have harnessed and want to direct elsewhere. Lol do what you want in essence he doesn't care, just simply explaining
Just repeating what Osho had said. He never says anything on his own.
