As a Volvo C30 owner, I can without a doubt say it is one of the best handling FWD cars I've ever driven. I used to go to the tail of the dragon every weekend with mine, other FWD cars had a hard time keeping up. Plus that 5 cylinder sounds amazing with the right exhaust (Titanium)
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion Se Manual. Bought it with around 30,000 miles for 10k. It has been one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned. Currently sitting at 100,600 miles. Other than replacing the abs module which I found at a junkyard for 100$ and recently replaced the clutch. It has been trouble free for me. Oil changes done at 5000 miles religiously.
I thought they made some of those Buicks in awd, not sure if with Manual, but could be neat.... *Checked i believe its AWD and Auto or Manual with FWD essentially, sadly. Could be such a fun sleeper I'd put MR-S in S, i am baised for all reasons related, but i would also argue its probably only car on the entire list that has strong chance of continuing to go up in value as simple Midengine RWD cars simply do not exist and there is some if niche demand for it, despite its impracticality/age/styling etc. However you can look at this as a negative if you just want to hoon a car, or enjoy it without too much care, this was the issue i had when i owned a AW11 decades ago.
Always some stupid concession with auto makers like you said, AWD auto vs FWD Manual. Thanks for the update on it. Agree with the midengine and nostalgia/niche demand. Could go S for sure!
Shoot yeah but Altima SE-R definitely hard to find one that isn’t beaten to death. Would be surprised if a clean one was $10k. Maxima good call though.
Mini Cooper in f tier? What is your criteria for ranking these cars? Can't be reliability. You ranked a Buick with a gm turbo 4 in it higher. I would argue a Mini would be way more entertaining than a TC (a two door Camry) and the Celica (my first car and basically a Corolla). They're all wrong wheel drive and belong in c tier with each other. This makes no sense.
I have to disagree about reliability, had a Vibe GT with the same engine, the 2ZZ and it went until 385k before headgasket and or cracked cylinder head ended up with it sold to performance shop that was doing Lotuses at the time that could use the parts. Engine lived a hard life too, if not track-hard.
@@Ottobon they are very reliable compared to other engines but to their predecessors (4age/ 3sye) fall short. Early years of that generation were more prone to failures due to lift bolts, valve springs, rod bearings, oil starvation, oil pump gear failures. Later years were improved, including the engines used in your chassis.
I clicked on the video because of the Buick. I met a guy who had one, it was the RS or whatever was the top model and that thing was wayyyy quicker then I thought it was
Mini in D. Why??? Have you driven an early 2000's cooper S? They're a ton of fun

Latest gen Celica is slow and not very reliable, B at best. Cool finds
Good to know on reliability 👍
