My first linux distro was Elementary OS. 4 years ago, I started to use Elementary OS, and I'm still using Elementary OS. Of course sometimes I changed Operating Systems like Pop_OS, Fedora, Arch, Linux Mint, Manjaro, Postmarketos, Puppy, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, PearOS, Lubuntu, Macbuntu, Debian, Ubuntu, GNOME OS, Redstar OS (Yes I'm serious), Vanilla OS, Gentoo, Archman, ArchCraft, ArcoLinux, Chrome OS (Trashest Linux Distro I've ever used, I would rather using Redstar OS instead of Chrome OS). I don't remember other's name but there was more. I've been using Elementary since 11 and I'm proud of it. Some bugs might be annoying but still no problem.
So you would rather the developers of things not get paid at all? Just because they ask for money doesn't make them "Microsoft". Honestly I think some linux distros need to start having paid versions to stop the burnout that is happening among Foss developers because of entitled people like yourself.
All the new stuff sounds gret....one question tho: CAN YOU UPGRADE IN PLACE?...or is it still where you have to RE-INSTALL thew OS every-time a new version comes out? Until its possible to update to the latest version WITHOUT HAVING TO RE-INSTALL?.....I'm gonna have to respectfully decline.
It's pretty easy, just takes ur 2 or 15 min. if Grub install 15 min but if BIOS or UEFI 2 min. So easy. I used the Grub install way and it just took 1-2 min to boot 13 min to install.
too bad eOS made politics their focus 🤡 zero chance I'm getting behind that. Plus all the devs have left and it currently a one man show 🤡 try Cinnamon, Gnome, or Cosmic 🙂
@@TechGeForce585 Simple google search would provide all the info you need. But the short version is the lead developer ran everyone else off and went from Daniel to Danielle and started pushing his woke bullshit on everyone. After Cassidy left the OS went to dog shit.
The devs have not left. The two founders have gone appart because one of them found a fulltime job, and had other goals, stopped developing as much. There was some noise about it and maybe a misundersanding, but this was almost 3 years ago and elementary kept being developed, since then they released OS 7 and now OS 8. The trademark was kept by the one who stayed, but it's not only her that develops it. Just look at their Github repositories, it's full of people helping. It's really community driven, as it has always been. But you guys fell for "Linux" TH-cam channels that are actually about right-wing politics, and that have seen this as an opportunity to spread hate towards Danielle, the founder who kept the project alive, because she is a trans woman. She being trans had nothing to do with why Cassidy left 3 years ago, as anyone can read in Cassidy's own blog where he explained what happened from his perspective. In fact Cassidy is just as left-leaning as her if not more, he literally posted about how to identify fascism 2 months ago is his blog, but it's 2025 already and people keep creating false narratives about what happened to attack Danielle for political reasons. Now, those same right-wing channels that pretend to be about Linux like to trash on elementary OS because Danielle has firmly stated that using their software and promoting hate towards trans people is incompatible. And she is right. If you're so prejudiced, don't use their software. But if you're a normal human being that was not brainwashed by this far-right bullshit and can still appreciate people's work without discriminating againt them, then go on, elementary OS is for you.
I don't think pantheon is more polished than gnome
or hyprland
It is
According to me, Pantheon is better than GNOME.

Great !! Thanks !!
Question: Can we get back the ld Dock-style ??
Yes, just install plank and never show the dock.
No minimize button 😮 oh no..
Super + H, that's simple. If you are too lazy for it then don't use because you'll have to use those combinations so much.
Hey broh. Big fan 😊 Hope you find this comment 😅

u can install manually on grub or BIOS/UEFI, I did it on grub manually and now it's completely working.
It's pretty easy, just takes ur 2 or 15 min. if Grub install 15 min but if BIOS or UEFI 2 min. So easy. I used the Grub install way and it just took 1-2 min to boot 13 min to install.
