    It is 1:14am, I have college applications and homework to be done, and I have been spending the past hour looking at mechanical pencils

    I love my Kuru Toga. Never bothered with it's built-in eraser - Pentel Clic Eraser or a Stadtler Mars for me.

    I naught this pencil yesterday on amazon waiting for it for notes since my teacher goes to fast and I always click the top and then I miss a couple words then he erases it to fast so can’t wait to get it

    That's the same feature that my lamy safari has. the lamy safari has a retractable sleeve. As you writing the sleeve retracts back to the the pencil, something that I personally hate because it exposes the lead and while writing could be broken. for a long time I thought that the mechanic has failed until now. thanks for explanation.

      Oscar Solano Guzman its also about the same as the Orenz, which is more famous for being the 0.2 mm pencil in the world as of writing this.

    Was trying to keep count as you were clicking it. I counted 20 presses to complete a full rotation of the lead (1/2 of the 40 of the previous engine) this would make it more viable with softer lead grades. Seems to be true based off a review on jetpens. Can you confirm how many clicks it takes (yeah i know that sounds way too much like an inquiry as to the number of licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop). Much appreciated if you would :) Thanks ahead.

      +benjamin leaman I have confirmed that this is accurate. About 20 presses for one full rotation with the Pipe Slide. About 40 for the classic. Nice observation!

      +Clutch Situation awesome, might even work with 4b lead with rotations that fast :) hoping they add that engine to the others as the pipe sliding up does admittedly sound abysmal for long clinical note writing sessions

    Hey I'm wondering what you would rank the Kuru Toga Pipe Slide now that it costs only ~$7 on Amazon

    • @ClutchSituation
      @ClutchSituation  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably the same. Cost factors much less into my ratings than any of the other measures.

    Good review, but I've already ordered standart uni kuru toga 0.7 (along with roullette .5) - besides that Slide hasn't 0.7 diameter as far as I know.

      This is unlikely to ever come out in 0.3. This is a transitional line between the Kuru Toga and Kuru Toga Advance. My guess is that this will be discontinued once the Advance comes out.

    As you put the pencil on the paper and lift it every time u write. It slowly turns the leaf around. When u just write a normal straight line. It DOES NOT turn the led.

    • @bruhdepartment4971
      @bruhdepartment4971 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lead turns only when you lift it from the paper

    • @Solitaire001
      @Solitaire001 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is why this pencil works for my style of writing, where I write individual characters and lift the pencil lead after every character. I've seen a few TH-cam videos about this pencil and some mention that the mechanism doesn't work as well when you write lines (since you don't lift the pencil from the paper) or when you write in cursive (where you only lift the pencil from the paper at the end of a word).

      @@ClutchSituation Fair point. The title said "review" not "the rise & fall of kuru togas",hence i expected a review rather than how it was acquired,not your typical review format. But you gotta do what you gotta do,it was a critique not an insult.

    • @ClutchSituation
      @ClutchSituation  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What am I going to do with a critique that asks me to stop being me and instead be more "typical?" The pendulum of usefulness swings both ways. ;)

      @@ClutchSituation Well i apologise then,No need to take it personally sir🙂,you be you. The video to me in a few places felt a bit unnecessary,like the part of how you aquired the pencil was detailed(just to me,i am sure many liked it). While i was looking for info on how it is in terms of writing or sketching,which i didn't find in detail (like comparison,comfort,how is it better or worse than others etc).
