just found your channel and it’s really cool.I personally am a bit of a heavy handed writer and was considering the pipe slide.Does the metal pipe slide tip interfere with writing at an angle? And how does the kuru toga work with normal lead?it would be great if you could make a close up video of the pipe slide mechanism!

The pipe is rounded so it's not problematic while writing and is fairly smooth on paper. Kuru Toga lead is designed to be softer on the outside and harder in the middle for two reasons. One, so the lead is easily gripped by the rotating mechanism and two so it gets to a point more easily. It's not recommended to use standard lead so I've never tried it and can't answer that fully

Gentleman Reviewer also I’ve heard that the metal pipe slide bit slides out pretty easily even when you push it back in or shake the pencil,is this true?it seems to defeat the purpose of a retractable tip tbh

@@sreyasamanamanchi7389 the purpose is to protect the lead as you write so you can have very little lead exposed. The sleeve follows the lead as it gets shorter and shorter so it's always being protected and minimizes breakage.

It's more accurate to say that Kuru Toga lead has a hard core. But if this matters, then why does Uni spend so much time trying to convince everyone to use their elad, even if they don't use Kuru Toga pencils?
And shouldn't I see some difference when I use Pentel lead in my Kuru Toga pencils?

The main difference you would see is Kuru Toga lead should sharpen to a cone more easily than lead with the same hardness throughout. The softer outside also allows the mechanism to grip the lead more easily

Fuck me man I got a chemistry test tomorrow and Instead of studying I’m trying to figure out if I should buy a Japanese mechanical pencil or not
