Hi! Thank you for your kind review, it is much appreciated. Just one addition to your video, it does have a sharpener...it is hidden beneath the rubber ;) All the best from Hribarcain
Ha! It's always great to hear a designer chime in! I never would have known that since I received it as a gift. Congrats on making a great product. I hope you produce more.
Absolutely! We are currently developing our retail packaging which will provide clear instructions. Perhaps we could send it to you with our next product if you would like to review for us...a gift directly from Hribarcain :)
I love this lead holder. I'm delighted that it has no pocket clip. This puts it in a very small minority. I also love its weight and how it feels. But it seems to me that you've omitted a detail that connoisseurs may care about: It takes 3 steps and two hands to advance the lead. I'm not talking about sharpening it. I'm just talking about advancing the lead. 1. unscrew the tip. 2. advance the lead using two hands. 3. re-screw the tip. It is certainly possible that step 2 could be done with one hand, but the fast, easy thing to do is to use both hands. But I do love this thing. Cheers!
in my youth i remember using clutch mechanicals to do my homework for school but i stopped using when i grew up because of the graphite mess problem i had with them
Very cool design. Perfect teaching tool for your science students (magnets) I just made my first eBay pencil purchase, the vintage blue quicker clicker. I used that pencil when I was younger. Thanks for doing this. Keep up the good work!
Can anyone explain the difference between a drafting pencil, a mechanical pencil and a clutch? In jetpens the TWISBI Precision is both in the mechanical pencil category and the dafrting pencil category.
A clutch is usually for 2mm leads or larger and is a simple grab and release system that is gravity fed and must be adjusted by the user. A drafting pencil usually has four key features: 1) A 4 mm lead sleeve so that it can be used against a straight edge, 2) a knurled grip for better gripping, and 3) a push top ratchet advance system that allows for quick and precise lead extension, and 4) a better mechanism because most people prefer only a small, precise amount of lead to be emitted so the user has precise control. A mechanical pencil is a generic name for any engineered device whose job is to control lead of a writing instrument without having to sharpen like a wood case pencil. Drafting pencils are mechanical pencils, as are clutch pencils. The TWSBI precision is a drafting pencil, which is a sub-category within all mechanical pencils.
Another great video- certainly checking this one out. A couple notes- first, aircraft aluminum is all marketing. I can't remember the exact alloy, but it is just another cheap alloy; think of how knife makers will say 'carbon steel'- it doesn't really mean anything, but it sounds better than nothing, haha. Another thing: A few weeks ago I commented about a Rotring 800 that I purchased, and if you had heard anything about a redesign. I still don't know if there was one, but the one I got is a beauty! The retraction mechanism works like a joy, the knurling is grippy, and when I measured the tolerance, I only had 3 thou of play on each side- I wish all my tools were that accurate, haha! Thanks for the recommendation, I would have never found the Rotring line without your channel, and that thing has changed the way I look at writing- no hyperbole. Keep making great videos!
Thanks for the insight into the alloy. Marketing is always a thing, isn't it! I'm glad you liked the 800. If they made the 800 in 0.9 I would order one right now in silver.
hmmm... interesting. But I don't like carrying a magnet around in my pocket with my keys, phone etc. Also, I want that pocket clip - at least as an option.
Wow! Love your channel. I'm originally from Bellevue (East '02). I recently got a Rotring 600, and it has unearthed an old addiction to collecting mechanical pencils and drawing comic books. Your reviews are the best. If I make a video review from an artist's perspective, I hope you don't mind if I copy your format somewhat
Nice review as always. Now when you are into 2mm and like softer leads you can easily find up to 8B which I promise is very satisfying to write or doodle with.:) Smudgy perhaps but smooth.
@Clutch Situation Can you use regular leads you can get from any store or do you have to buy the lead they posted on their web? are those lead special made? since its magnet hold.
OK that is a cool Lead Holder Pencail. Love Your video by the way. I have not to long ago just got into Mechanical Pencils. Now I am not a new be to mechanical pencils. I used them all through my years growing up in school. But these we're I'll just say not of the best quality. So I am going to blame You for this new hobby of mine. LOL.
Clutch Situation Hey I need your help so yesterday I was in class and a friend asked for a pencil, so I browed him a P207 pencil and when I get it back the clutch was acting strange it didnt want to advance the lead and it made a squeaking sound when I clicked the top, so I got home and compared it to another P207 that I have it turns out that the problem is not the clutch but the tip that doesnt advance the lead pass a certain point. What do I do is it broken RIP P207?
The problem is that I dont have a lead jam clearer and that needles that I have are eather to small of to big for my P207. (I forgot to tell you I am the same guy that told you about the pentel Techniclick Ricardo but that was the account my dad made me and this is my personal account)

That would be great. I love supporting emerging companies with great products. Please email klecser@gmail.com!
Hribarcain - Design Insights how do you CHANGE the lead? When I tried to pull the short piece out, it snapped off.

Oh, man. That vintage blue Quicker Clicker. Good times.

Thanks for the answer! Love your videos. Maybe you should do some informative videos about mechanical pencils. Just like goulet pens does. :D
If you search the video archive, there is a video "How Push Top Ratchet Mechanical Pencils work." But I agree, a "definitions" video would be prudent.
Looks ok but a bit gimmicky with the slider thing and magnets but not for me as there is no finger grip you know the knurled part where you hold it

Have you figured out HOW to change the lead!
You bet. Pretty easy.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But I also want to challenge you to find your own style. Do something that is you.

Clutch Situation ya sure

@Clutch Situation
Can you use regular leads you can get from any store or do you have to buy the lead they posted on their web? are those lead special made? since its magnet hold.
Yes. Any 2 mm leads work.
Wow. Well that is a pencil worth supporting. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Damn..I just really want to buy one now :(
I wish I was in your class

Get a lead jam clearer and put it through the tip. Or a needle.
The problem is that I dont have a lead jam clearer and that needles that I have are eather to small of to big for my P207. (I forgot to tell you I am the same guy that told you about the pentel Techniclick Ricardo but that was the account my dad made me and this is my personal account)
Brilliant
@robertocolanzi
He talked so much but love the vid
A clutch pencil is not a technical pen. It has another system and is most used for drawing where you can put in different grades of B and H.
Get on with it. Too much talking about nothing
This isn't the Channel for you perhaps?
