Tried lots of bikes including gsx8, hornet, trident, 850gs and cb 650r. They are all great bikes some more powerful than others hornet has bonkers power, but in the finish I bought gsx8 in white as it fits me like a glove and i don’t regret my choice for 1 minute. If anyone is looking for a bike in this class I recommend you go and test ride one and you’ll see just how good it is.
I found that when accelerating the hornet wanted to wheelie as a lot of power kicks in higher in rev range and I don’t have skills for that, if you do you’ll love it. suzuki feels a bit smoother to me and suits my riding style, also should say the hornet I tested had the quick shifter which was really good.
Being an in-line 4 it liked to be revved, tops out at 12000rpm I think with about 90bhp. Once again the bike I tested had quick shifter and engine, gearbox and shifter were butter smoothe, upright riding position easy to ride fast or slow and for long periods as seat excellently padded, build quality was excellent. I was ready to buy one until I tried the 8s which felt right for me.
Thanks for the review, Mark. Thought I recognised that forecourt, I bought my bike from C J Ball :) I was originally going to have the Honda Hornet as I'd had a couple of test rides and loved the thing. Anyway, along comes the new GSX 8S and after another back to back test ride I plumped for the Suzuki instead. I found the 8S to have a better riding position for me over the Hornet as it's a physically bigger bike. Also the longer wheelbase and heavier kerbweight of the 8S gave it a more sure footed and planted feel on the road. Very subjective but I also prefer the looks and the styling of the 8S over the Hornet as well, but that's just me. Both bikes are fantastic and you can't really go wrong with either. Cheers 👍
Ohh! Been waiting for this from your good self! Definitely much better looking than the Honda cardigan 😎 In fact, I’m waiting for mine in a couple of days 😉👌
I bought this motorcycle without a single test ride, I liked it so much, so I went to the dealer and bought it, now I'm waiting to pick it up the day after tomorrow, I'm just switching from a Honda CBR and I'm curious what my first impressions will be :)
Thanks for an excellent review! If you had a choice between the suzuki or a honda cb 650r which would you go for? Newer tech on the suzuki or the inline 4 of the cb?
Looks a nice bike this bud, good clear review as always and another option for newer riders, hopefully the engine will be smoother/nicer than the mt07. Suppose this will be a good competitor for the new Honda and the mt 👍🏼
Good review, thanks Mark. It would be interesting to know how this compares to the Triumph Trident, that's a smashing middle weight. Looking forward to when you start testing a big range of bikes and cars from Sportsbike Warehouse, when do we start seeing those? The channel will be great with that extra content.👍
Hi, that won't be happening as they are all older, used bikes that have been reviewed to death. I will review some older bikes but mostly mainstream, new bikes.
Everything seems good to me except that rear fender. If they didn't do the brake light that way it would be an easy fix. Right now only fender eliminator I have seen to fix that is Yoshimura but its $199.
Nicely demonstrated sir, tell me, why no flies on yer camera what's your secret, my teeth and shades would have looked like fly paper in farmers backyard.
Feel like it’s a bit too late in the game to steal the parallel twin 270 degree crown from the MT07. I don’t need the gimmicks, just something playful with great sound.
Power Modes and Traction Control on a 80brake 200kg parallel twin. Dear oh dear, perhaps biking isnt your thing if you cant handle that meagre power to weight ratio.
So it's pleasant. Pleasantly pleasant. Pleasantly riding the Pleasantly pleasant bike on this pleasant day... Of all the middle weight nakeds, I like the suzuki most... non of them look as comfortable for rider and passenger than my 12 year old yamaha XJ6 though...
Great bike and review but awfully ugly front. That's why we get to see it only at the 22nd minute of the video...lol..Suzuki starts looking like 90s KTM.
Needs a tail tidy, but in the wet your back will get soaked, we have all been there not funny, Keep hold of your in line 4's they are becoming extinct, such a shame for this catagory

The new hornet is a parallel twin@@Trevster65
Great-looking bike. Good low-down/mid-range shove.
I prefer the look of the standard indicators over the led option.
Great review. It's a tansformers from the front side

Nice one! My Hornet review is out at 5pm today.
@@motorsforthemasses look forward to it. I loved the Hornet, but I love the 8S just that but more 👍
Enjoying this!
Good all round genuine review thx mate. Watching from Melbourne Australia 👍

Oh nice you're local! (Just got to the part of you departing CJ Ball) Good review sir, do you ever get down to Whitwell on a friday?
Motors for the Masses : Has a nice sound.

Shame you don't have the shop anymore. I was planning a trip over there this year to do a spot of TH-cam filming.

Better than the new ugly offering from Honda, looks quite mean this.

Great bike but would need a better can on it sounds a bit sad and tail tidy on it other than that top bike.

Is this bike better than SV650 and the Hornet 750?
Very nice, but too expensive. Hornet cheaper, strange that, historically Suzuki's generally cheaper
Yes that's the cost of the should we make it pretty department 😂 or leave it boring.😂😂
& traditionally, Honda's have been better finished ...

Perhaps I just don't ride fast enough lol

@@motorsforthemasses For just a sec. That's why I missed that. Anyways. Great review once again.💯

These new bikes sure are ugly.
Not all of them..But this one for sure.
