After I watched this video, I ordered the Pentel P209 mechanical pencil. I love it! I always hated mechanical pencils because they break so easily. When I bought this pencil, I couldn’t believe how strong it is! I have to use pencils for work so there is always dozens of cheap mechanical pencils laying around but now - I just need this one! I put a rubber grip on it because it seemed a little fragile. Thank you so much for the inspiration! God bless you!
I have been meaning to start smoking cigars to put the bands in my journal. I used to smoke cigars a lot when I was in my mid 30's. My favorite everyday cigars were Berings in aluminum tubes. For finer cigars, I found cigars from Nicaragua the best. I never smoked a Cuban but I heard they were very overrated. I wish I could remember the cigars I smoked and which ones were really good. I guess that is why it is so important to keep a journal to keep track of it. :-)
I feel like you could be my long-lost brother from another mother, lol. I'm right there with ya on the notebooks, fountain pens/inks, choice of reading genres, having a CCL, thinking in terms of EDC...everything but the cigars, lol! (Although those bands are REALLY pretty.) Some thoughts for your journal/wallet situation that might help or give you ideas: - I'd tape the pages of that second September spread together, so you don't accidentally write something on it (and then miss it later because you're looking at the other one) - Keep a copy of your insurance cards that you seldom use in each car. - Take pics of the front/back of your driver's license, your CCL, and your insurance cards...and keep those in a protected folder in your phone's photo gallery. This way even if you do leave the house without them, you still have them available. - Consider setting up a "pay by phone" app on your phone (all banks offer these now). - If you're not comfortable with paying by phone (I'm still not on that bandwagon myself), consider leaving a very low-balance credit card or pre-paid Visa card in the car. Just with a couple hundred dollars on it; enough to get you by if you forgot your journal/wallet at home, but not enough that it would let a thief go on a financial ruination spree if they stole your car. You could keep it in one of those little magnetic tins, or even on a big paper clip, and tuck it up under the dash so it can't be seen. Even if a thief does bust a window or steals the car, they won't know to look up inside the dash. :) (And it's a good idea to keep some cash tucked up there, in any case.) - The orange ink that's too light...you could try decanting some of that into a sample vial and adding 1 or 2 drops of a red, light brown, or grey to it to darken it up a bit. - The camel leather being too light...leather will still actually tan if you leave it out in the sun. Pull your inserts out, lay it out flat where it can get a full blast of sun for a full day, and it should darken up. If one day doesn't darken it enough, just try another day or two. You can also darken it with leather shoe polish, or leather stains, oils, or paint. - The comb teeth and the jutting-out screwdriver corner on that multi-tool money clip seems like they would get snagged a LOT, both when sliding it into a pocket and when trying to pull it out. And that jutting-out screwdriver corner would definitely quickly wear/rip holes through pants and jeans.
I love these walkthroughs but I wanted to point out the Plotter Mini-5 (or Mini). I went from using the TN Passport to the Plotter Mini 5 as a notebook AND wallet. It is a much better size for the combination and I find its much easier to avoid leaving it behind because it just stays in my pocket. The downside to Plotter (which is owned by the same company that owns Traveler's company) is that the leather covers are fairly expensive, but then they have what seem to be cheaper inserts and accessories. I liked the Mini5 so much I ended up buying a Bible size Plotter as well and now my set up is great. I also like that I can add pages and pull pages whenever I need to. Enjoying the channel. Have a good one.
1:20 that's exactly why I bought a very neat and tiny leather pocket wallet from Saddleback Leather (unfortunately, they don't make that model anymore). And I keep my Costco and a Library card in the notebook
I use my daily notepad as my wallet and love it. I used to have to carry a badge, in turn I've become very careful about not forgetting my wallet lol and this way it is one less thing to carry. Granted I custom made my own notebook cover / wallet with some old leather I had. It's not very pretty 😅 I've avoided using paperclips up till now (occupational thing) but seeing this video and I'm not working currently I may start. Up till now I've been using small pieces of ribbon which of course end up falling out Thank you for the video!!! Cheers, beers and whiskey 🤠🥃
@@SigogglinJack I couldn't find anything local that I liked and do my best not to order on line. Not to mention I collect odd things in this case leather brown and also have some black. Figured what the heck give it a try, still need to make a final one. Right now I'm using my wife's daughters hair ties to hold the notepad in 🤷 and I think I want to adjust the size a little. To accommodate cash a little easier.
I'm fascinated with your collection of cigar bands. Also with how you've used them in your Travelers. It's so pretty. At one time, I read everything I could, about the Templars. I have a new, full sized Travelers notebook that was an impulse buy, so now I have to decide what to use it for. How are you progressing with the Philosophy notebooks?
Same here. One of these days I’m gonna get caught driving without my license and carrying a gun without my permit and unable to pay for my 32 ounce Slurpy.
How do you carry it? Front pocket? Cargo pocket? Back pocket? I have just started carrying mine Nd am having trouble finding a comfortable way to carry it.
My “yard-gars” I order from JR Cigars. My premium cigars I buy from a local store. I just got a bundle of Factory Throw Outs from JR that are pretty good. Thanks for watching.
I never set up pages in advance and create spreads only when I see a need them. Pre-formatted planners of any kind just don't work for me, even when I create them myself.

Thank you!! Great little cheap pencil.
I really like how your cigar journal looks. My great-grandfather used to smoke cigars and I still have some of the beautiful wooden boxes. Lovely art
Thanks so very much and thank you for watching
Thank you for the walkthrough of your journal. It was very interesting. I wish I were this organized.
Thanks buddy!

I’ve been enjoying collecting the bands. Neat artwork on such a small scale. Thanks for watching!

Some really great ideas! Thanks. And thanks for watching
So excited to see a new notebook update!

I’ve been looking at those. I might try one out at some point. They look like a good notebook.
Use rubber cement to glue labels in you notebooks. You put a thin layer in the book and a thin layer on the band and wait a few minutes, then attach!
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
Lots of interesting suggestions! That credit card sized multi tool is tempting! The dark leather cover is really cool.
Thanks for this video!
Thanks for watching!
Love the cigar bands…especially the Mason ones…great notebooks
Thanks Randy!

I think I’m heading in that direction myself. Thanks for watching.
I see a Pentel 0.9, I click!!
👍 yes thanks for watching
Great Update... Thanks Jack
Thanks for checking it out!
Love this setup man I’m trying to get into it and set it up like this!!!

Sounds great 👍
Love your notebooks. I do what you do with cigar bands with beer labels! Just havent found where to stick them on yet.
Beer labels! Great idea!!
Try the Pelican Brilliant Braun instead of Yu Yake. Its an amazing Sunset Orange! I wouldnt substitute it for anything!
Thanks I’ll check it out

It’s going well. I’ll do an update at the end of the month. Thanks Teresa
I think i need to try the pen tel Pencil lol, The reason I don’t use mine as a wallet too is ill forget the debit card all the time :)
Same here. One of these days I’m gonna get caught driving without my license and carrying a gun without my permit and unable to pay for my 32 ounce Slurpy.
Hi brother. Do you have links for the cigars you mentioned?
I picked them up at a local shop. Haven’t found them online anywhere. Thanks for watching
How do you carry it? Front pocket? Cargo pocket? Back pocket?
I have just started carrying mine Nd am having trouble finding a comfortable way to carry it.
It’s mostly in my sling bag unless I’m just going into a store or restaurant I’ll stick it in my back pocket. Thanks for watching!
Epick
Thanks 🙏

I get that. The simpler the better. Thanks for watching.
I’ve started experimenting to see how to set up a journal that fits me.
It’s almost as fun as playing with knives!!!😂
Well, almost 😅. Thanks brother!
