Thank you for featuring the Pocket Journal, Chad! So happy to know it's become a part of your EDC and love that you're using it for morning pages-such a great way to start the day. Hope you get more use out of it. Really appreciate the support! 😊
I just started practicing Morning Pages a few days ago. The way you said it serves as a way to mentally dump to a "personal therapist" is the most relatable. Instead of various thoughts of many varieties bouncing around in my head all day, I just scribble them down, close the notebook then tackle the day with a clearer mind. It's amazing how simple and effective it's been.
I was listening to your video in the background while working. I listened to your final comments about Jesus changing you life and it was just what I needed to hear at the moment. God Bless
That warms my heart. I realized that as a minister I hadn’t ever said anything about my belief in Jesus on the channel. I wanted to change that. So I keep it at the end of my videos and offer the invitation. So far I’ve had a positive response. Thank you so much for your comment, and thank you for watching.
I appreciate a pastor discussing this technique because most people assume that pastors have no troubles maintaining focus or clarity of vision. But they have feet of clay (or is it brains of clay?) just like the rest of us. “Morning pages” is a simple concept: write 2-3 pages of whatever thoughts, ideas, or concerns come to mind at the start of your day. That’s it. Chad describes the technique in the video and discusses its benefits but you may have missed it because it’s such a simple-yet powerful-tool to give you focus because it gets out most of the distracting monkeys jumping around your mind. If you want to learn more, there’s a chapter in The Artists’ Mind by Julia Cameron.
I rather enjoyed hearing that Marcus O'Brien's video on journaling was one of the influences that got you back into journaling. I watched O'Brien's video quite some time back and a week later I was reading Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist's Way" and writing my morning journal pages in one of Colonel Littleton's larger format journals that my very thoughtful wife had gifted me with (I think it was) a year or so earlier and that I had failed to put to good use. I journaled throughout most of my military and Civil Service careers and oddly, as time passed in my retirement years, I guess I abandoned the practice. It is good to be back at something that seems to provide added direction and focus to my days. Thank you so much for another great video!
Been struggling with my journaling practice and between you and Marcus I’m feeling inspired. Only critique I have is the screen in the back flickering bothered my eyes for the early part of the video. The overhead shots helped offset that. Thanks for your content and the spirit with which you deliver it! God bless
Thank you for watching! Yeah, I was trying an old school CRT TV in my videos but I don’t think that’s going to work. It was distracting for me too. Thanks for your comment!
Great video! Do you take your journal out of the cover when you write? I have a leather cover and find that the pockets in the cover are bothersome when writing with the book inside the cover, especially the pages near the front and back of the notebook. I really like the looks of the Lochby, but wonder whether the zipper would also be in the way. I am inches away from pressing the buy button on the Lochby. 😎 Lord bless, brother. -Randy
Great question. I do not take my notebook out when writing in it. The material holding the zipper is very pliable and flexible and doesn’t get in my way very much at all. I’m incredibly particular and thought it would bother me too, but it doesn’t. Thank you for watching!
hi thanks for the video, it's great to see how others approach their morning pages. I just started on my journey… Quick question, which bible is that? It looks beautiful!
Actually picked that up at the 21 Century Christian bookstore in Nashville, but this version of the NLT with Filament integration is getting more popular. I really like it 👉🏼 amzn.to/3WGIT8F Thank you for your question!

Thank you for sending it! Appreciate it so much.
Because of this video I’m getting me one of these. I’m sure I’ll love it.
@@PreachermanPiper Very kind, thank you for watching!
@@LandmanEDC I’ve been in the ministry for some 60 years, now I’m 79 and disabled, yet I have a lot I would like to leave my loved ones

As a fellow pastor who is also a big Field Notes fanboy and EDC nerd, I'm loving your content! Subscribed!
Thanks so much! Where do you pastor?
@@LandmanEDC I'm in Troy, Alabama! How about you?
@demarco516 Columbia Tennessee my friend
same for me!
Loved this! Love the pocket journals
Thanks for watching!
Field Notes is made in the US and that quality is worth the price premium in my opinion.
Right! 15 bucks for 3 quality notebooks isn’t bad in my option either.

Excellent video. My notebook and journal is my most used and helpful edc item.

You should do a video on your different notebooks and how you use them all
That is a great idea for a future video!
great suggestions

Great channel and You are sharing JESUS as well ! Amen Amen & Amen 🙏
I’m trying to! Don’t wanna make people mad so I keep it at the end. Thanks for your comment!
Do you carry that in your back pocket?
No it lives in my backpack, but I probably could if I needed to.

so funny 😆😆😆😆
your setting is claustrophobic. please change the lighting and wall colours, it might uplift the mood.
Don’t have any other options bro but thanks for your feedback
It is always good to get free 💩💩, that we can get at Dollar tree.
Yep, as I said in the video, even a 99-cent notebook will do!
You said nothing about actual morning pages...
Yeah I did but ok
The title says it’s about the tools, not how he writes his morning pages. Goal achieved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@reinventingrene Appreciate you 🙌🏼😉
