    Not a fan of any brand that uses proprietary stuff, but that slim profile flashlight looks quite nice. Wish more budget brands would make something like this.

    The Baton 3 pro was my first OLIGHT. Then I got the Warrior mini 2, then the Baton 3 pro max and then a Javelot mini. All of them are incredible and so useful. My Baton 3 pro lives in my pocket as my edc.

    I have the Baton II and Baton 3 Pro in my rotation and really like both of them. I'm definitely buying the Arkfeld UV once the sale starts too. 👍🍻

    I EDC a Baton Pro in my work bag, and it's a great light. I have a WM2, and the little Baton 3, but they don't get a lot of use, just because the Baton Pro serves me so well. I like the design and style of the new Arkfeld UV, but also feel like a UV light isn't something a lot of people may use on a daily basis, and wish they had done more of a dedicated UV light, like they used to have with the i5T. Still, I don't mind their proprietary system. I find it easy to throw it on a charger every so often, rather than have to keep batteries on me.

    This was a pretty accurate and straight up review of olight and I agree with your top 5, the only thing I don't like about olight is their marketing style, I have a RS40 Seeker with a usb charging port which the flashlight was built like a tank and imo better quality and I paid 80.00 for it back in 2015, this light still one of the best olights..

    I have several Olights and most don't have the mag charger and I really like them. Their S1 Baton Mini has the rechargeable port in the battery. Its my favorite small form light. The one Olight I own with a mag charger is a full size Baton I bought a few years ago. Its a good light but the first time I was out in the field and needed to charge it but didn't have the mag cable and that was it for Olights. You recommended a Wurkkos Wk03 for $18 a couple of weeks ago and I've been really happy with it. Less then half the price of the very overpriced Olights and still 90% of the performance. I will say the updated Arcfield looks interesting. Not enough to dig deeper into their proprietary charging system but Olight isn't the only ones making square flashlights so perhaps you'll have a good clone on the channel down the road.

      @Mister_Phafanapolis ปีที่แล้ว

      Recharge port _in the battery_ is the ultimate solution.
      Flappy port covers can go to hell! True Chads are OK with disassembling their lights to charge them. _If_ people want on-board charging then what is the fuss with proprietary or built in batteries?

  • @SgtSly
    @SgtSly ปีที่แล้ว +4

    One very annoying thing I discovered from Olights magnetic chargers is there is two types and they will not work with each other.
    The weapon mounted lights like the Bldr come with a different polarity charger and they are labeled “special”. Really messed me up when I thought I only needed one charger on a trip. I was left with a dead light.

    • @Mister_Phafanapolis
      @Mister_Phafanapolis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder why the weapon lights have a different charger

    I have the lime green Perun 2 mini and 2 Obulb Pro's. I love both. I have a right angle head lamp, but what sold me on the Perun 2 mini, was the fact that I can still have the clip on the light, while it's on my head. Sometimes I think I need a headlamp, but then I am in a tight spot and need the light on my shirt. No problem with the Perun 2 mini. The clip stays on when you have it on the headband. It's the only light I know that does that. I love it. The Obulb's are just awesome during power outages, or just to have a little light during a movie or for a little bit of light outside. Those are probably the only ones I will get with magnet charging. I have been tempted to get other magnet charging Olight lights, but, I have passed. 1 is the olight marauder 2 mini. It would be awesome to have a spot and flood light handy but I normally just use flood lights and I have a spot light I barely use, so I just remove it from my cart every time I am tempted to buy it.

    I have Baton II Pro and i rly like it, but i feels a bit too large. Would anybody have some idea for a flashlight with similar functions? (tail stand, magnetic tail, clip, at least 400 lm for 1h and whats most important 20 mm diamiter (0,8 inch)
    After this video im going to consider Arkfeld too.

  • @scottradley1185
    @scottradley1185 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Baton 3 with is my current EDC, followed by the WM2... I don't have an Arkfeld. The UV version looks promising, however I wish you could swap out the battery if needed.

  • @Reflect744
    @Reflect744 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    People whining about the magnetic charging just get an Oport or 2 there $23 in Aust so probably $10 for you guys over in the US - cost is practically nothing, keep one in your truck, keys etc... There's your usb C charging solved. Simple!

    • @XperiencePureness
      @XperiencePureness ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think that's a solution because most people who whine about magnetic chargers are not going to like spending the extra money after they bought a flashlight that isn't exactly cheap and they also don't like the proprietary batteries that Olight uses in their flashlights.

    • @Reflect744
      @Reflect744 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@XperiencePureness Mate I thought we were talking about the magnetic charging. When did proprietary batteries come Into the equation 🤔

    • @XperiencePureness
      @XperiencePureness ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Reflect744
      Because some people prefer to carry spare batteries so that when the battery runs out of power they can quickly insert new batteries and be able to use the flashlight right away.
      Some external chargers can also be used to carry the battery and act as a powerbank so it would be a more useful investment than the Oport.

    • @Reflect744
      @Reflect744 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@XperiencePureness I merely addressed the issue of magnetic charging and people possibly having an issue with loosing that specific cable or only having so many on hand, which is understandable hence why I mentioned a cheap solution for ppl that are wanting to venture into the Olight world. Other than that yes every company has there pros and cons I'm actually a Thrunite fan at the end of the day but do own my fair share of Olights amongst Nitecore and Fenix. Really comes down to what suits each individual's personal needs. Happy light hunting my friend! 👍

    • @Mister_Phafanapolis
      @Mister_Phafanapolis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@XperiencePureness Is there something about the proprietary batteries that helps/works in tandem with the magnetic charging or could, theoretically, a standard battery be recharged with a magnetic setup? (Not in an Olight, obviously)

    Have to say this video was very opportunistic for me. I have a well known brand flashlight, with the rubber flap covering the charging port. This flashlight ended up being knocked into a sink full of water. I took it out, dried it off, reassembled it and nothing. Let it dry overnight disassembled, then tried it. Lens is all diffuse now, light is muted, and switch is very inconsistent. I have to say I have not liked Olight's proprietary stuff, but I did not know (you probably did) that they make an accessory called the Oport. This Oport will allow me to use my USB-C cable, with this adapter for charging their flashlights. Well, now that I saw that I am going to purchase the WM2 and the Oport. Thanks for sharing

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did, but it's $25 + by itself. So that's why

    • @bills.2214
      @bills.2214 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maxlvledc I found it on Amazon, currently at $16. Even at $25, I'm ok with it because it will allow me to still use one cord, besides the flashlight that was lost was almost three bills, so WM2 and this Oport is at that level. Hopefully the WM2 is a little more water resistant than a F.....

    The magnetic chargers from any brand is just annoying to me, it charges slower and makes it harder to have the right cable. Just USB-C for me now (even though I really like my Fenix). And I'm always looking for a replaceable battery now so I can carry an extra if I'm going on a longer night hike or something.

    Olight Warrior Mini 2 is probably for me, the biggest disappointment of a light and I have a lot, my Baton 3 has better light output despite 550 less lumens, such a bummer because size and shape is perfect. I just can't carry it, it's annoying. Baton 3 is my EDC with a Warrior S in my bag.
