    Thank you so much for sharing the wood recommendations! I look forward to trying out the printed MDF from the one supplier mentioned.

    That $40 Home Depot wood is 60 bucks today. Insane.

    One piece would cost me $48 Canadian. Shipping is a killer.

    That's funny. I'm messy but I've only had my Gweike Storm 600 for a week now and I'm still a bit precious about clearing away the debris from it's cuts. Been cutting felt, car upholstery material, acrylic, 3mm, 6mm ply and even some 7mm MDF. Cutting like a dream! NZ and Australia have a company PLYCO which has some good product I've stocked up on. The Storm 600 is a meter wide and has a 500mm extension out the side with a 65 watt laser tube, could be room for an 80 in there though. Separate chiller, blower and compressor units. Feels pretty industrial for a 600mm x 400mm bed size. I'll fit a Stainless mesh and a filter on the outlet though, I don't want to get unpopular with the neighbours.

    Thanks for a very helpful video.
    I've really gotten great results from the HomeDepot 1/4-inch "hardwood" plywood that you mentioned. I get the 2'x4' pieces of plywood. Then on my table saw, I cut it into thirds which fit just right in my red-and-black Chinese laser. THEN (for the cherry plywood) I use MinWax cherry oil stain. Looks really nice.
    Some woods produce toxic fumes when burned. For example, "Driftwood from the ocean absorbs lots of salt, which is released in the form of chloride (or chlorine) when burned, creating cancerous fumes. Freshwater driftwood is not any safer, as it tends to have a lot of fungus and mold growing on or in it, and burning it will release the spores into the air which can then be inhaled." A search can be done online to find some of these.

      Great comment to mention about toxic woods! Something I totally forgot to cover! I love the minwax stain too! I think my favorite is called red Mahogany. Glad you found it helpful

    Thank you for the video! This is a question I've been trying to find out more info on. It looks like everyone has been raising prices... in just the last year the price per sheet has gone up $1 at smokey hill.

      Yeah... unfortunately wood is going up everywhere... my local store is the same way. If you buy local that is the cheapest thing to do. Also, I don't think I included them, check out gs2 awards. They are AMAZING, great prices, great quality

    Can the glowforge or xtool p2 cut solid 1/4” wood? Looking at small wood jewelry but worried it will feel cheap & light

    • @LaserAndLearn
      @LaserAndLearn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it can! At least the Glowforge, don't know about the xtool. If it is 40watt and up it probably can though

      @Mark sorry, I think auto reply changed it and I just noticed. Hobby lobby was clearancing out their Racks for like $15, so a lot of laser people snagged them. I think they do it periodically
