  • Today were taking the Darkstar from the Top Gun Maverick DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator for a long haul flight!
On average, it takes just over 21 hours with a stop over to go from London to Sydney if conditions are ok. Well we have clear skies, unlimited fuel and a one way ticket to Sydney.
How long will it take? You'll see at the end, but theres a few POI I've mentioned through the video too with how long it takes to get there.
Sit back, grab snacks and enjoy the video!
This video is recording on my PC using keyboard, mouse and Xbox Series X controller.
Hope you enjoy, more from this DLC coming soon.

I did this route too a bit ago to see how far I could get it on a single tank, turns out you just back off the throttle all the way and only put it back up to half throttle without afterburners and it goes extremely far.. you can probably go anywhere in the world at at least mach 4 in this thing on a single tank of scramjet fuel. I made it all the way to london from sydney at I think about mach 5.5 all the way on my trip

What "annoys" you and "push itself off course" is called "Great-circle distance". because the earth is spherical and the magnetic pole is offset from the true pole - you cannot fly long and long distances with the same magnetic heading (darkstar avionics shows exactly the magnetic heading) because the shortest path is a curve (if you look at the map) between departure and arrival that doesn't have the same course, and if on regular planes it's not so noticeable because they don't fly straight ahead, but follow airways between waypoints, but when you fly a darkstar, especially with its speed, it's more noticeable and you feel like you're constantly veering off "the right course", but the truth is that when you fly a darkstar there's no "right course", there's only a curve you have to fly
      Pardon my English.
