@gammr3227 Then it should use distance over time like MPH, km/h, knots, etc…. not Mach which doesn’t apply to anything in a vacuum. Mach is also a poor measure of speed in aircraft. We use Mach at high speed like we use indicated airspeed at low speeds because the aircraft will behave the same aerodynamically at the same IAS or Mach which is important for performance and safety. But true airspeed can be very different. Like when the SR-71 flies in cold air and can get a faster Mach.. the speed of sound is slower in cold air so the true airspeed is the same. It’s not going any “faster”.

This is such a visually impressive speed comparison, and the audio really adds to the sensation of speed with each vehicle. Big well done to the creator/creators of this fine video. Respect.
Yet even as blisteringly fast as the ISS is, it would still take almost 20 years to reach Neptune, the outer-most planet in the Solar System. And it would take a 747 about 850 years to get there (if it could fly in space, which of course it can't.) The distances between things in space are mind-boggling.
I thought of it while Concorde was still flying (80s/90s). In fact, it was faster, just as manouvrable and didn't need compression suits to travel in it. The fighters don't have the range of Concorde either.
The jet engine was invented just up the road from me at RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire, UK. There'd have been a fair few jet fighters dreamt up before Concorde came along;
Note: At only several hundred feet, The Max Speed of a Passenger Jet is far less due to Air Resistance. So, what were the objects flown into the World Trade Centres on September 11th 2001 ?
I love the fact that you included sound delay and human camera movement, it helps a lot to appreciate the velocity of these objects, congratulations ! A few suggestions/comments : * The whole scientific community as well as a majority of countries around the globe use metric system. It's a pity they cannot appreciate your job as you stick to imperial units. * I doubt the fighters you show would achieve top speed with fuel supply under the wings. Of course they would also need to fly at high altitude but for the sake of entertainment it is reasonable to show them close to the ground.
Great video! I'd love to know how you done the flyby views as the new MSFS does not have a dedicated flyby view option (or does it? Maybe I've not discovered it). It's one of the things I've always liked about flight sims in general. With the amazing realism of MSFS they really should have made this a priority.
Really nice video, thanks. I think it's time to honor the historic significance of the original Wright Flyer with a supersonic upgrade.* Let's retrofit the old beloved bird with a single Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-220. With the afterburning turbofan lit up, providing a total 14,590lb of thrust, the ol' gal might do Mach 1.5**, while retaining its beloved nostalgic look of the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. Better late than never-let's properly welcome the Wright Flyer to the 21st century! _*There may be some strengthening of the airframe and other slight modifications needed._ _**The pilot should probably wear a helmet. Fast jet fighters with pilots in G-Suits at Mach 2- and Concorde flying past at the same speed with passengers having their dinner..........
because fighter jets do highly accrobatic maneuvers, and concordes just fly like a regular airliner
@@Napoleon_e2Its still interesting that an airliner could out speed these jets, thats a characteristic you would want in a high altitude bomber
@@gamertardguardian1299 yeah
Most jets aren’t doing high G maneuvers at Mach 2. They are subsonic when maneuvering.
@gamertardguardian1299 It would be cool if the concord could also be used as a bomber, but thats up to the government.

Awesome job! :)
By the way, Concorde is the most beautiful from all of them!
So interesting how the bigger a craft is, the slower it looks. The Concorde looked slow, even though it was going at the same speed as the Tomcat.
I always feel like the ISS is just floating along like a hot air balloon.
I wasn’t expecting that. And the multiple sonic booms that would make if it could sustain an atmospheric flight was an awesome touch.
Concorde wouldn’t have had afterburners lit at Mach 2, they were turned off at 1.7 and then the aircraft was able to ‘supercruise’ without them.
Great video👍
I still say Concorde is THE greatest plane EVER built. The End.🇬🇧🇫🇷

The fact a Concorde fly as quick as a jetfighter is something you never tought of until viewing this. Thats just crazy.
