Very interesting. I took a long flight on Qantas from Los Angeles to Auckland, New Zealand several years ago. Even then Qantas was on top of the science to regulate our circadian rhythms and make the flight seem much shorter than it actually was. Some of the methods employed on this flight were used years ago on that long flight. Meals were given at calculated times as were the times the cabin lights were extinguished and we were asked to try to sleep. I am still impressed to this day by how well Qantas accomplished this to maximize the enjoyable experience of the flight.

That moment the CEO and the Captain comes out waving, History made. Absolutely phenomenal. I always liked Qantas and SIA for there remarkable history-making flight trips.
Great vid. Wonderful airline with an enviable record for long haul flight over 100yrs. The world relies upon and is grateful for professional airlines like this.
If these flights ever come to be, I cannot imagine being in anything other than at least business class for space and ability to lay flat for sleep. A packed plane with folks in economy would be death! No chance to get up and exercise in a fully load economy section, right?
It will happen with first, business and economy. All passengers will have access to various sections of the cabin below the floor dedicated to passenger wellbeing, because less cargo will be carried on these long flights, freeing up space for an area dedicated to health for exercise, mental wellness and stretching.
I imagine that it will be Business Class only, maybe with Premium Economy (Likely no Qantas FC on the Project Sunrise Aircraft) like on SQ 21/22 between Changi and Newark, which only have Business and Premium Economy.
It will be done like singapore airlines with business class and premium economy, its doable but still jetlagged like hell. Everyone can survived 19 hours of flight
You mentioned that your favorite aircraft was the Boeing 747. My father was one of the chief aerodynamicists on that airplane. I could tell you many stories about the 747 from my father.

Some British Airways flights have no better seating in Business compared to Economy. Like UK > Germany. But still charge twice for merely a meal and fast track.

For 9 min travel time, I did a quick calculation. You need a speed of around 114000kph (4 times the speed of a space shuttle orbiting speed), seems....legit???

I just stumbled across these wonderful video’s Sam and appreciate them thoroughly! Not only do you make the viewer feel as though we’re with you, but the sense of adventure comes through in every episode. Then it brings back memories when I would mimic my boss’s reply long ago when asked where’s my home: Seat 1B. Thank you!
Very nice video Sam! My grandfather was an Instructor at Great Lakes Naval Academy during WW1, teaching math and Aeronautics (funny thing was, his degrees were in English and Law). I have always been interested in Aeronautics and anything pertaining to flight. Knowing that he had a part in training those Naval students back when flying was something so very up and coming, after all, the Wright Brothers were testing flight just one decade earlier.
so if you flew from London in January to Sydney you would be flying from mid winter to mid summer in 19 hours.
True, but that could happen in a much shorter trip if a flight went directly south, such as from New York City to Santiago, Chile.
Yeah when my family went from Australia to England we were absolutely freezing when we landed. And tired!
congratulations on passing your 2nd-grade level geography class. Have you heard? Some birds fly south for the winter?
I've done that in about 11 hours, Heathrow to Cape Town

Thank you sooo much everyone for letting me knowing the flying company my dear father used to fly to Australia once he was very young. He always talked so high about Qantas and told me..." if you ever go to Australia remember to fly Qantas. They are the best" Watching your video Sam Chui I understand why. So many emotions and memories come to me watching you all living this amazing experience. I hope one day to have the privilege to fly with you to your fabulous land with the secret order of the Two Sunrise. 😚

Lol this always happens during meal service, like they give me a glass of water and turbulence suddenly shows up right at that moment

Hpy Centennial Celebrations
Thank You Sam For A Great Presentation Too
I love how the favorit aircraft of them both is the 747. Such an iconic aircraft
Sam you’re an inspiration man. I want to travel a lot a share moments with the pilots and passengers. This is remarkable and you’re part of history now 👏
I only just found this now & I need to say...
Thank you soooo much Sam! This was awesome. I think that it would have been an awesome flight to be a part of, & the way you've filmed it, especially with the environmental sound being picked up all over the place, truly made me feel like I was sitting in your top pocket👌🏻
Cheers Sam, well done mate. I'm really happy I found you, now I'm on to the rest of your library😜🤙🏻😈
Thank you very much Sam Chui for making us part of the longest flight with you. Hat's off to you as always
Judge: take this 19hr flight in economy, or go to prison?
Me: does prison have wi-fi??
Judge: yes prison has wifi but no gadgets allowed
Of course a convict with common sense will choose Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo instead of this flight
I would take the flight.
At least prison actually has coke in the commissary
@@TheVortexGaming the plane also has better food, more delicious as well as a coke drink. You cannot compare Prison food to an international airline food.
some how i knew you'd get onto this flight. nice vid.
Sam, your videos help me see the good in humanity because you project the best of what we as humans can be. Thank you for sharing your trip on Qantas with us. Looking forward to your next aviation adventure you share with us!
Totally agree with this comment!

Amazing and congratulations to all the crew members for such brilliance.
That moment the CEO and the Captain comes out waving, History made. Absolutely phenomenal. I always liked Qantas and SIA for there remarkable history-making flight trips.
Yea i thought I saw mr Alan Joyce onboard
Amazing but very loooong research flight with good-humoured cew. I would need a cap of sleep afterwards ;) Great report Sam!!
Wow thats amazing .. personal interview with Alan Joyce .. you really have moved up in the world Sam !!!!
Great vid. Wonderful airline with an enviable record for long haul flight over 100yrs. The world relies upon and is grateful for professional airlines like this.
I knew someone who flew across the Pacific and died the next day from a blood clot. Moving around on long flights is incredibly important.
I laughed at that for some reason..
I’m horrible. 😭😭
really a hard task, both for crew and the passengers.
It's a very wonderful flight...but then l can't imagine myself up there for all that time
I agree, after 10 hours it surely is a concert of farts.
@@nandolopes9897 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of your best videos, Sam. What a great moment in history!
If these flights ever come to be, I cannot imagine being in anything other than at least business class for space and ability to lay flat for sleep. A packed plane with folks in economy would be death! No chance to get up and exercise in a fully load economy section, right?
this cannot be done with the full economy class, the weight will not allow
@@ujocker1 If it ever does happen will be all business and first class.. No way it happens with economy
I could tell you many stories about the 747 from my father.
yeah, id love to know where the fueltanks are hahaha!
@Byad Lazybro haha i dont think so!
When I heard about this, I knew you would be on the flight. Excited for their New York flight. It's nice to experiment. The 787 is a beaut
New York flight already passed but i think there doing another one in December.
This an absolute masterpiece experience. Well done!!
Always amazing content Sam, keep it up, cheers from México.
100 more years and sam chui's grandkid will be making a video with a title, experiencing qudraple sunrise as we went around the world in 19 minutes
Won't that that long for Spacex Spaceship point to point flight.
That won’t be possible...
We will have the longest flight from Pyongyang to Cape Town
Hi fake kim jong😂
I actually would like to see that flight.
Mr Kim, what aircraft type from your fleet are you planning to fly :)
With just you as the passenger.
The Taepodong-2 Express, only takes one passenger strapped to the outside, hell of a flight though!!!
Great yes Qantas. It can fly a long distance without stopping, when it is a great distance and no airline has been able to beat like Qantas.Congratulations Qantas for its long haul flight record.
2019: Sydney to London is gonna be coming soon
2020: HI ITS CORONA
So sad
2021 or 2022: Corona is now effectively history, so now it's "onward and upward".
@@bobjacobson858 Your Gov't: Lol, we are never letting go of this control buddy. As long as your buying it, we will be selling it.
2021-2022: New strain, onward and upward!!
@@johnnyholmes8840 Unfortunately, the problem is the people who refuse to be vaccinated. Sometimes I can't believe the stupidity of people--but of course there are still those who take up smoking cigarettes in spite of the well-known dangers,
@@bobjacobson858 it is also unfortunate that you, and people like you, believe that is what the actual problem is. I do not care if you want to get vaccinated, I do not care if you want to smoke cigarettes, I do not care if you want to inject heroin into your pee hole.... etc. What I do care about is when massive overbearing governments star pushing their people around (Australia is a great example at the moment, basically zero cases, yet lockdowns all over the place.) Fear rules the day at the moment unfortunately.
Hey Sam, this was a great one thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful experience
The ceo joined the flight. Thats some dedication, kudos to Quantas
It's not as it was a risky flight, with a plane that has been around for years. They guy probably had to go home anyways.
I love quantas
Cromzo Lui QANTAS not Quantas. It stands for Queensland and Northern Territory Air Services. It’s an acronym so no U.
It was so great. I flew to Ethioia and US 6 times a 12 to 13 hours flight. I think this one is the longest one. The treatment makes the best flight too. It was a great endeavor to the future aviation progress. Great Airliner! Qantas!
Criminal to even have economy seats
Still an experimental plane setup, and will be used on other routes. This is a oneoff research flight
Guessing that when they go ahead with this the cabin will be configured without regular economy and will charge a significant premium to fly non-stop and continue with their regular daily flights from Singapore
I've flown on a 14 hour flight non stop in economy, it is completely doable.
Some British Airways flights have no better seating in Business compared to Economy. Like UK > Germany. But still charge twice for merely a meal and fast track.
They will probably have a separate Dreamliner with only premium economy and business I think Singapore (?) did this
"THERE IS A TODDLER ON BOARD WHO CAN'T STOP CRYING" is the longest flight, bro.
fukc yeah
And the shortest is having literal trauma from crashing, you fear so much that the flight goes faster
and what do you think you did at that same age? and others complaining you were too noisy. its part of life bro.
@@bmw803 we were all noisy for sure 😂😂😂I have 5 nephews so it's never quiet. Neverrrrr.
