Is there a dog or an alligator on the end of that leash? Cheers from Ireland!

    Hey Steve.
I didn't know any way how to reach out to you.
With your history and knowledge of Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers do you know if the following is true?
"This is John Powers - The old post office, at the corner of Arlington Rd. and River Bluff Rd, was an abandoned building in the early 60s. David Gray and I used to go there when we were in elementary school and find Playboy magazines which we would "read". There was a house behind the old post office that was a "rental" (it is no longer there). I had heard that it was the Arlington house that the Allman Brothers had their first jam sessions as the Allman Brothers. Greg Allman mentions in his auto-biography, My Cross to Bear, that their first jam sessions in 1969 were in Arlington. Does anyone know if this was the house? I think it was Barry Oakley (bass player) and his wife's house, but I could be wrong."
The above is an excerpt from a group that follows the history of Arlington in Jax. Any help in solving the mystery of the long gone house would be appreciated.
I enjoy you videos very much.
    God bless.
    Thank you.

Butch Trucks lived in a mint green cinderblock house in Arlington on the corner of Cesery Blvd and Arlington Rd. The rehearsals were moved from the house on Lomax St. in Riverside to where Butch was living. Neighbors were complaining about the noise on Lomax. I was there for rehearsals on Lomax and Cesery. The house was small on Cesery and Berry Oakley had to use the hall to rehearse because he liked to move around. Duane, Gregg, and Dickie continued to be with Berry and Linda on Lomax St. after the rehearsals moved. The neighbors were satisfied. We had a lot of bon fires in the backyard and acoustical jams at Lomax which I was a part of playing acoustical guitar and harmonica and the neighbors did not complain about that. Even Ronnie, Gary and Allen came over to the Lomax acoustical jams, but I don't remember them going to Arlington. Either Berry would call me or they would tell me in person when the next rehearsal was and I was definitely there each time they told me. I met Butch in 65. My band, Messenger of the Masses, a short lived local band, hired him to drum for us while he was playing with The Vikings. I also played sideman harmonica for Gregg and Duane starting in 65 between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville. I met Berry and Dickie at the Forum in 68 when they were the Second Coming and worked as a sideman there. It was a very exciting time with a lot of high energy and everybody got along. So Cool.

I met Henry Paul around '70 in Tampa when I was on the Southeast Tour with Skynyrd, but haven't talked to him since the late 80s. I sat in with Molly Hatchet in Jacksonville in 74 at the Londonaire Lounge on Lane Ave. which later became the West LA Club where I once again played with them in the late 80s. I was also a guest player for them in Destin FL in the early 80s and did a big outdoor concert on Wilson Blvd with them in Jacksonville around 1990. Tim Lindsey, bass player, and I have known each other since 65. Saw him in Leesburg a few years ago and took some photos with him for fans. He told his fans that he was there at the Comic Book Club when both bands(Skynyrd and Gregg and Duane) hired me as an opening act and sideman. He is one of the few original Southern Rockers left and started his career with Barry Lee Harwood and Derek Hess who are also originals and still playing.
