    My cousin played drums for the Mickey Gilley band and I love Lynyrd Skynyrd music because it was more of a southern country rock band and I enjoy every story you tell about the band. Great Job!!!

    Thanks for this, great video! What was the story behind Larry Junstrom deciding to leave Skynyrd? I've always been curious about that.

    • @stevevestsswampchat8248
      @stevevestsswampchat8248  8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +Dagger 323 Skynyrd had 2 to 3 lead guitarists continually. King James only had one, Dru Lumbar. Larry wanted to work with Dru and me and Leon wanted to work with Ronnie Gary and Allen so they both wanted to switch.

    Steve Vest enjoy this so much - was the Magi House named that out of any Christian affiliations ? I mean King James Version, did they start out as a Christian rock band ? I know Ronnie was not ashamed of the Gospel or talkin God , or at least I does not seem that way. Thanks David (my first concert I ever went to was Lynyrd Skynyrd on Oct.15, 1977 Hollywood sportatorium) I now live 6 blocks from there-sacred ground

      +rebelrecording No, Larry was the only one to join Donnie in 38 Special. Chip Miller, who replaced the drummer Tom, went on to play with Dru once again in Dr. Hector and the Groove Injectors. Chip died in 2006 in his home on the Westside of Jacksonville.

      @stevevestsswampchat8248  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. He could hold his own with anybody. A phenomenal slide guitarist. Just a natural. He had the most biting leads. I sang for him from 69-72 when he moved to Macon.

      You were very blessed to be part of a time in around Jacksonville when some of the greatest music every was being played, the list of players is a mile long. Jacksonville was the mecca for music and Southern Rock and Roll, what a honor it would be to be part of all that.
