    The legacy they have built till this day is unmatched and hearing them talk about the intention behind building a thoughtful group and taking necessary time to protect their own journey is just so refreshing. They’ve seen so many things happen to so many groups but the way they kept themselves grounded to eachother and the reason for doing this is something I hope so many new artists stay close to. They do not make them like this anymore. I hope they know how much we appreciate they still show up for us today and are still THEMSELVES. THANK YOU for this ❤

      I have a feeling this was a lot of our stories. Was easier to convince your parents to buy a soft pop album with a go kart and no parental advisory sticker on the cover.

    As a fellow Oklahoman, AAR has always been that band that I have alot of love and pride for. I mean, I was 12 years old when that first record came out. Listening to it on my Sony Walkman CD player on the bus to middle school. I grew up with these guys. I've seen them several times live and even met a couple members in OKC. The reason I mention this all, is to emphasize the point they made - they're grounded. Yes, Tyson is a bit eccentric, but the dude is so kind. They're not a bunch of douchebags who drink their own koolaid. They love music and want to share with others. Because of that, I'll always be a fan.

    I'll tell you what your music did to me...made me feel not so alone. I will never not appreciate you getting me through middle and high school (am coming up on 36yo). You and 3 other bands (The Spill Canvas, Silverstein, and Linkin Park) have always stayed with me and gotten me through rough stuff. Still listen to all 4 today too. And getting older just makes me appreciate how fucking *good* you all are, and how *amazing* you were then. Just so glad to have had these bands in my ears at the time that I did. Made life so much more bearable.
    I remember Swing Swing coming out, but My Paper Heart was what got me into the whole album. And this was before the internet was as big as it is. Borders was around, and they let you listen to some CDs before you bought them. Not an old fashioned record shop, but "in my day" that's how I discovered music, how I sampled new music by favorite artists, etc. And they had quite the variety. Where was I going with this? Idk. But I'm just saying...hearing how they wrote the music, and hearing Tyson talk about music being a "supernatural" thing, like a church but better, just nodding my head off at this. And so cool to hear from them. They will never not be in my top 5.
    And I absolutely know the newest songs from these 4 bands (AAR being easiest because that was how long ago? lawl). But some bands I only listen to their old stuff. Because that's what I prefer. I don't think that's a bad thing, necessarily. Some bands didn't change for the better. And some did. I love Paramore. I adore their whole path from Pressure to Decode to Still Into You to This Is Why...they are all over the map, and it's *great*. But some need to just stick to the past releases...(not naming names...lol).
    I'll say "When the World Comes Down" is probably my favorite album, but Straight Jacket is my favorite song. 🙃

    I think it’s telling how at 43:30 Tyson gives Nick credit and how he needs to impress him first. Goes to show the connection those two have with songwriting considering they cowrote everything for the band.

    Wonder if this band will ever mention how they really got their name. I have a cousin who was launching a website called the all American rejects and she saw them at a local bar performing and made conversation with them. She told them about her website she was going to launch and next thing you know, All American Rejects are all over the radio. No bad blood. None of us care but it'd be cool if they actually said how they got their name.
    Legends. Always Loved this band.

    Would be cool if AAR went more in the indie punk direction. Their cover of Flagpole Sitta was pretty sick to be honest. I'll always love AAR but I don't think I'd care much if they release another emo album at this point in my life.

    It's great to see them again and I'm glad they're looking to try some new music and just have fun with it. I was always wondering why it just seemed to be a single every now and again and rehashed collections of their past work on streaming apps. But I have to say, it actually kinda sucks to learn more about them and dispel the mental image I had of the band. They're insanely humble, which **is** a good thing, but it's so extreme to the point where it's almost self loathing. As if everything they did previously was rushed and bad and not spiritual enough for them. Artists complain a lot about having to churn out hits but the people pushing them usually end up causing them to write and create some rather incredible stuff because of it. Maybe that's why I haven't really enjoyed the newer singles they've released over the years. I wonder if that will be the same with anything else new since it'll be without the friction of working with a label. It's like with the "It Ends Tonight" thing they mention, learning the truth behind them and their records is actually rather disappointing. Sorry, but yes, the song sounds 5x lamer if it's not about a relationship. You're complaining about a depressed roommate that's bumming you out? It's really not very interesting that way. It's a similar situation with "Gives You Hell," which I think was also about a dude and not a woman like most would expect. I can see why everyone told them to not mention that. Oh and Tyson hates Beekeeper's Daughter? Makes sense because it's actually interesting and edgy and braggadocious. I'm surprised he even managed to write it at all, considering it sounds like the exact opposite of his actual personality.

  • @noneyae
    @noneyae 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    This is all just speculation but its what seemed the most obvious to me. Their roommate was their sacrifice to fame. I know how that sounds but that is a very real thing in Hollywood. dig down that hole for yourself if you want. The way body language, level of interaction, mild increase in character for dude next to Tyler Ritter changed during certain points of Tyler talking about the roommate he hated. And seemingly "jokingly" wanted to kill. Psych doesn't lie very easily and he showed various. Not to mention the fact their 4 BIGGEST songs all came out during that period. And THE SONG NAMES LIKE DUDE. Gives you hell. It ends tonight. Dirty little secret. Move along. Piece that together yourself. On another note. Again more speculation. around 10 min in when talking about the touring and options etc, nick wheeler (i think his name, guy in purple shirt) said in more than one way this was his only option not thinking there was another way. Once you're owned by the industry. Artists are their property in a more scary way. Cant usually leave very easily or at all. End up controlled, blackmailed, threatened, etc. And in such have to put music to a certain frequency and incorporate certain messages that the industry wants in there. Crazy i know but its fucked. That's what where i think he was thinking about when saying that but unable to say it. But hey. this is just crazy speculation ;)

    fire. I bought their Hal Leonard Tab Books from Guitar Center back in like 07. Lots of half-step down tuning stuff. Lots of stuff where GTR 1 and GTR 2 are tuned different aswell.
    God I love those guitar riffs & squeals on 11:11 PM. Dance Inside and Change Your Mind have some fun guitar stuff in it too. I heard that All 3 of their albums were bounced to TAPE in the studio too. That's why their albums sound so God Damn crips. Mixed By Chris Lorde-Alge. Mastered By Ted Jensen. The conversion is absolutely impeccable with this bands albums. Such perfect instrument choices they use aswell. Drums always so clean. Everything always sits in its own space. The Guitars definitely drive this band. Bass always had that nice warm Fall Out Boy P-Bass, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pick-up sound too.
