Massive thanks to benny blanco for sharing your journey on 'Behind The Wall.' From creating chart-topping hits to now diving into the culinary world with his new cookbook, Open Wide, Benny proves that following your passions can take you anywhere. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out his cookbook. I had to order it myself-just like you saw in the interview, the version he has just has the number to Domino's in it, but trust me, the real one’s packed with actual recipes including a BTS cake! Might have to try to make that one. 🎂❤‍🔥

The biggest song writers of our time? What do you mean by biggest? Songwriters who make "chart topping hits?" I don't know how to ended up in this black hole pocket of youtube but I'm flabbergasted at how many people find real meaning in this ridiculous, ultra capitalist aspect of the music industry. All of his songs are candy. Shiny, pretty sounding toilet music. I mean even the thumbnail of this video quotes him as saying about himself that he doesn't have talent lol Good luck with your rotting teeth and brains.

I think the feeling IS all the little details. You don’t have to be consciously aware of it. But remove it all and the song will not feel the same. It’s like with food. If it’s well seasoned you aren’t going to say, wow that salt level was incredible. Quite the contrary - when you notice the salt or lack of, it’s a problem.

My dad worked for 50 years in this industry. He summarized production by saying this : "Whether a sound is right or not or good or not is irrelevant. That's stupid question. Any sound is good if it fits the song. You cannot ever tell whether or not ANY sound is right by soloing it. Ever." If the snare needs to be an apple crunch cuz you think it fits, so be it! There is no "better" sound. That's the beauty of incorporating electronics and pedals and stuff. There is NO objectively "better" sound, VS a classical or jazz recording that has to "hi fi". Phase correlation almost doesn't matter, because our brain don't have a "real" equivalent of a beat or any other electronic piece of music, so it's not weirded out by the phase being off or whatever. There is a lot less engineering going on for us because there is a lot MORE engineering that's been done so what WE can be more free. I think that's beautiful.

tbh this is god tier content. anyone that has produced or engineered anything real has learned the general listener doesnt give a single f*ck about the extra things we do. just make a banger with some feels. this is how nerds like this get massive credits.

Thank you for putting these videos together Daniel. I’ve always dreamed about creating music, but the entire process seemed so far fetched and unrealistic. Thank you for inspiring a long dormant dream of mine. Keep it up! Love these videos I keep seeing shorts I’ve just discovered the full interviews

thank you Daniel for giving us this interview with Benny. i’d never heard his name before news came out of him and Selena dating. prior to this interview- of course i’m familiar with all the hits he’s part of and his apparent emergence on social media. however, it wasn’t in the best light. from the impression i got, he could be a tad vulgar in some seemingly humorous videos. nonetheless, i now have a profound appreciation for his talent and genuinely think he’s a cool ass dude. i definitely understand what Selena sees in him. ultimately looks fade (if you even had them in the first place) so i don’t get why people have to hate on him so much. what should he do? get plastic surgery like the kar-jenners and hadids? Benny has a unique charm to him with a brilliant mind as well ❤️

@6:09 i'm not a musician but as a visual artist it's the same thing and it still blows my mind how we spend our whole lives trying to perfect our craft only for persons to be able to connect with a small portion of it.

That’s a good point in the beginning of the interview.. that inspires me to pay attention to more so the feeling of everything instead of obsessing or “ocd”ing about one single or even multiple aspects of the music. It all comes back to that before we became musicians.. the feeling of the music that inspired us to do this

damn man, he’s so down to earth and a genuine guy. everything he said resonates so hard as a producer. especially when he talked about the tiny minor details which we agonize over just for them to not be noticed by the listeners

I care Benny!! I appreciate the extra time and efforts you put into your music .. the little changes throughout the songs are noticed by enough to keep doing it the way you do. I think Its part of your extra passion behind your music, and in my opinion can help make your beats stand out 😁

I never realised how much i relate to everything Benny said as a musician. I'm seriously agonising over it all to the point i feel writers block and anxiety of making everything sound good but i'm understanding that i need to get out of my head and just put it out there because the vibe i'm going for is decent enough and i can learn as i go. I don't want to make music to be famous. i want to make music to make music and use it to raise money for causes i feel strongly about but this part and getting attention (and the chaos of covid)has put me off for a few years but it's my goal is to just get it out by next year. i want to overcome the anxiety for myself. Music is so healing and i love this vibe from benny. i really needed this today. Thank you

Such a big fan and fascinated by Benny... hearing him fall in love with music through singles and having the same taste as me truly made my day... it's weird I never played instruments but always wanted to help people make music.. weird I know.
