Massive thanks to benny blanco for sharing your journey on 'Behind The Wall.' Great job, that was some good interviewing. I came here not knowing who this guy was, now he's my benchmark for "good vibes". i get why so many artists would want him in the room with them.
My dad worked for 50 years in this industry. He summarized production by saying this : "Whether a sound is right or not or good or not is irrelevant. That's stupid question. Any sound is good if it fits the song. You cannot ever tell whether or not ANY sound is right by soloing it. Ever." If the snare needs to be an apple crunch cuz you think it fits, so be it! There is no "better" sound. That's the beauty of incorporating electronics and pedals and stuff. There is NO objectively "better" sound, VS a classical or jazz recording that has to "hi fi". Phase correlation almost doesn't matter, because our brain don't have a "real" equivalent of a beat or any other electronic piece of music, so it's not weirded out by the phase being off or whatever. There is a lot less engineering going on for us because there is a lot MORE engineering that's been done so what WE can be more free. I think that's beautiful.

thank you Daniel for giving us this interview with Benny. i’d never heard his name before news came out of him and Selena dating. prior to this interview- of course i’m familiar with all the hits he’s part of and his apparent emergence on social media. however, it wasn’t in the best light. from the impression i got, he could be a tad vulgar in some seemingly humorous videos. nonetheless, i now have a profound appreciation for his talent and genuinely think he’s a cool ass dude. i definitely understand what Selena sees in him. ultimately looks fade (if you even had them in the first place) so i don’t get why people have to hate on him so much. what should he do? get plastic surgery like the kar-jenners and hadids? Benny has a unique charm to him with a brilliant mind as well ❤️
Thank you for making these, they’re so inspiring and insightful. And you’re so good at what you do, you make me feel like I’m there with two friends and one of them has some crazy stories to share.

Fantastic interview end to end. So glad to have found your channel in my feed. I absolutely love to hear artists & creatives talk about their art and process.
@6:09 i'm not a musician but as a visual artist it's the same thing and it still blows my mind how we spend our whole lives trying to perfect our craft only for persons to be able to connect with a small portion of it.
such a beautiful inteview. every question flowed into thought out answer with sincerity. kept me engaged the whole time and brought me so much satisfaction. thank you both
That’s a good point in the beginning of the interview.. that inspires me to pay attention to more so the feeling of everything instead of obsessing or “ocd”ing about one single or even multiple aspects of the music. It all comes back to that before we became musicians.. the feeling of the music that inspired us to do this
damn man, he’s so down to earth and a genuine guy. everything he said resonates so hard as a producer. especially when he talked about the tiny minor details which we agonize over just for them to not be noticed by the listeners
We just wanted to say that we really enjoyed watching the video, thank you so much for the interview. It was very interesting and educational to learn all about the artist and his journey too!
I care Benny!! I appreciate the extra time and efforts you put into your music .. the little changes throughout the songs are noticed by enough to keep doing it the way you do. I think Its part of your extra passion behind your music, and in my opinion can help make your beats stand out 😁
I never realised how much i relate to everything Benny said as a musician. I'm seriously agonising over it all to the point i feel writers block and anxiety of making everything sound good but i'm understanding that i need to get out of my head and just put it out there because the vibe i'm going for is decent enough and i can learn as i go. I don't want to make music to be famous. i want to make music to make music and use it to raise money for causes i feel strongly about but this part and getting attention (and the chaos of covid)has put me off for a few years but it's my goal is to just get it out by next year. i want to overcome the anxiety for myself. Music is so healing and i love this vibe from benny. i really needed this today. Thank you
He worked with Katy Perry back in 2013-2014 while she was working on prism and that is her most iconic and my favorite album by her and I wish he would work with her again bc it takes two and this moment he helped her with and omg he also did hot n cold cali girls and teenage dream so yeah this man needs to work with her again pls ❤
Amazing interview. I’m also a writer and an artist and I relate sooo much to a lot of what Benny is saying. Great questions and flow in the conversation. Much love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Such a big fan and fascinated by Benny... hearing him fall in love with music through singles and having the same taste as me truly made my day... it's weird I never played instruments but always wanted to help people make music.. weird I know.

thank you Daniel for giving us this interview with Benny. i’d never heard his name before news came out of him and Selena dating. prior to this interview- of course i’m familiar with all the hits he’s part of and his apparent emergence on social media. however, it wasn’t in the best light. from the impression i got, he could be a tad vulgar in some seemingly humorous videos. nonetheless, i now have a profound appreciation for his talent and genuinely think he’s a cool ass dude. i definitely understand what Selena sees in him. ultimately looks fade (if you even had them in the first place) so i don’t get why people have to hate on him so much. what should he do? get plastic surgery like the kar-jenners and hadids? Benny has a unique charm to him with a brilliant mind as well ❤️
This might be one of the few interviews to be recorded with a Neve 1073.
Thank you for making these, they’re so inspiring and insightful. And you’re so good at what you do, you make me feel like I’m there with two friends and one of them has some crazy stories to share.
Benny, I listen to the little details, they are absolutely beautiful. I don't believe you can miss with the amount of hard work you put in and I strive to be like you one day. I appreciate you Benny!
Came here to watch this interview after being inspired and amazed with your Mike Posner interview. Keep up the good work Daniel!
First time, I have ever actually watched a TH-cam video without skipping, and 47 minutes long at that! Extremely impressive and interesting interview.
I love the way Benny approaches work and life.
Great interview, subscribed. You should get Bonnie McKee to talk about #1s ten-fifteen years ago too
How did I not know about Benny Blanco until NOW!?!
Lovin this Energy
such a beautiful inteview. every question flowed into thought out answer with sincerity. kept me engaged the whole time and brought me so much satisfaction. thank you both
Just realised Benny sat with his legs in that position for a whole 40+ minutes my man is too zen
The conversation we wanted and needed⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love your name, Daniel! ❤ This comment made my name 🎉🎉🎉
That’s a good point in the beginning of the interview.. that inspires me to pay attention to more so the feeling of everything instead of obsessing or “ocd”ing about one single or even multiple aspects of the music. It all comes back to that before we became musicians.. the feeling of the music that inspired us to do this
damn man, he’s so down to earth and a genuine guy. everything he said resonates so hard as a producer. especially when he talked about the tiny minor details which we agonize over just for them to not be noticed by the listeners
epic interview... daniel youre siiiiiick with the questions and following vibe of the talk. sosososooooo good!
We just wanted to say that we really enjoyed watching the video, thank you so much for the interview. It was very interesting and educational to learn all about the artist and his journey too!
Hell yeah. Love to see it So much awesomeness in this video. Great job on both sides
I care Benny!! I appreciate the extra time and efforts you put into your music .. the little changes throughout the songs are noticed by enough to keep doing it the way you do. I think Its part of your extra passion behind your music, and in my opinion can help make your beats stand out 😁
This interview honestly made me really like Benny Blanco.. I feel like he's the kind of kid I grew up with.
Thank you
as a nobody bedroom fl studio songwriter, this is so inspiring to watch,. thank u for this omfg
100% agree adding all the little details in a right way is the hardest part lool good one
great interview, congratz!
9:52 I think there are those small productions pieces that creates the feelings. So, no, the audience may not know but we feel it.
Such a big fan and fascinated by Benny... hearing him fall in love with music through singles and having the same taste as me truly made my day... it's weird I never played instruments but always wanted to help people make music.. weird I know.
