Perhaps the movie was a reflection of Vincent's life - underappreciated by the masses. As an artist I am so in tune with Vincent's life and great artistry. I also understand the pain and suffering of rejection. It's true a great artist is not a peaceful soul.

The thing that scares me is that they always will be people like Vincent (well not exactly like him because everyone is unique but with their own sensitive souls) but not everyone will be remembered like he is. In our world it's hard to be sensitive, it always has been. We can go through life praising Vincent and regretting that none gave him the recognition he deserved but at the same time not notice all the unique and beautiful people around us that would need our help. Or we can be those sensitive souls and go unnoticed. While I'm in no way such a beautiful person as Vincent, I'd like to think I'm sensitive. The problem is that it's hard to find people like you or those who accept you, I feel like a background character in my own life, and the thought of dying and achieving nothing in this world really scares me. It's sad that the example of Vincent didn't teach us all to appreciate the sensitivity because if we don't learn this, there will be always people like Vincent - misunderstood, lonely but beautiful and meaningful that could change the world if only someone let them do it.
I feel it like I'm your shoes. I think that if a person can't understand me but tries and cares about my feelings, it's enough for me. Yet, there were times when I didn't even have that.

I’ve walked by and glanced at them dozens of times before, but now I stop and stare at all of them for the longest time. It’s like I’m visiting a friend and I don’t want to leave. “Now I understand.” -that line sums it up for me.

I was on an airplane watching this movie. When the song lured in at the end, I just cried quietly for long time. It felt almost like a therapy healing me inside. Thanks to all the artists for the luxurious emotional experience, by which we call ourselves Human.

After watching this movie and hearing this song I just wish I had a time machine so I could go back in time to hug Vincent and tell him that everything will be alright, that this world needs more people like him, that he is a wonderful treasure. My grandmother was the one who got me into art in the first place, mainly by introducing me to Van Gogh's work. She passed away about 10 years ago now, so whenever I hear this song, no matter who it's done by, I get seriously teary-eyed. I miss her so much, and I also feel for Vincent.

One can only dream of having Lianne La Havas's vocals! I'm a diehard fan of Lianne and I must say this track truly demonstrate the many textural layers of her voice. Especially in the beginning of the track, those deep notes! It has so much depth! Listening to Lianne La Havas all day is like entering Charlie's chocolate factory, there are so many wonders found within each song and you'll never listen to her songs only once.
I was in the Arken Museum, Copenhagen when they showed this movie for free. I am a fan of Van Gogh's paintings but not really know about the behind story of this wonderful man. The movie really touched my heart. Somehow it reminds me of myself. Not everything of course, but only some parts. I was a missionary just like Vincent. Struggling with depression & anxiety. My brother was there to support me and still continually support me despite we live far from each other. He gave me money when I was broke. He accompanied me in the hospital when I was sick. He supported my art even I feel not talented enough. He is my own Theo. Love you big brother.

I think you didn't read Jeremy's message properly. He probably loved the original song by Don Mclean (composed in Van Gogh's honor) and when he heard they were making a movie about vincent he hoped someone would remember this song, and they did.

In particular the word in the chorus: - how you suffered for your sanity - how you tried to set them free It’s very sad how a sensitive person like Vincent was misunderstood. He had to struggle with his mental conditions etc & in the end he committed suicide. We must learn & understanding sensitive people. We all have different degrees of sensitivity. We must do our best to understand each other & love each other.
When I feel like crying and in moments of despair, I feel this unique emotional connectiion with Vincent and another troubled souls... I want to say that I love them, and the existence of such people helps me to stay alive... In recent days i sometimes can't stop crying, but still try to change myself and find love for another human beings... I feel like little things collapse my whole feeling of self worth and i simply don't fit there...
This movie was shown in our art's class and I felt so excited and amazed, and it hurt me when most of my classmates didn't pay attention to it that much- this was too beautiful to be overlooked. Loving Vincent was not just a movie, it was a multi sensory experience that I will remember forever. Not only was it beautiful and painstakingly created but it was deeply poignant too, had me in tears by the end.

I was on an airplane watching this movie. When the song lured in at the end, I just cried quietly for long time. It felt almost like a therapy healing me inside. Thanks to all the artists for the luxurious emotional experience, by which we call ourselves Human.

Saw the film tonight, didn't expect to hear this on the end titles, very moving.
just home from watching the film. I was hoping for this song, but would have preferred Don Mc Lean `s version. which is more emotional in its simplicity and more adequate to Vincent. By the way , it really fills my heart with pleasure that so many young people love Vincent and this unique song.
I was thinking about the song as I was watching the movie then it was played in the end credits. I was crying. The song -made decades apart- was like it was made for the movie.

One can only dream of having Lianne La Havas's vocals! I'm a diehard fan of Lianne and I must say this track truly demonstrate the many textural layers of her voice. Especially in the beginning of the track, those deep notes! It has so much depth! Listening to Lianne La Havas all day is like entering Charlie's chocolate factory, there are so many wonders found within each song and you'll never listen to her songs only once.
Must admit I'd never heard of her before here in Germany. But when I listened to her performance in my local cinema I became a fan on the spot.

I was in the Arken Museum, Copenhagen when they showed this movie for free. I am a fan of Van Gogh's paintings but not really know about the behind story of this wonderful man. The movie really touched my heart. Somehow it reminds me of myself. Not everything of course, but only some parts. I was a missionary just like Vincent. Struggling with depression & anxiety. My brother was there to support me and still continually support me despite we live far from each other. He gave me money when I was broke. He accompanied me in the hospital when I was sick. He supported my art even I feel not talented enough. He is my own Theo. Love you big brother.

I think you didn't read Jeremy's message properly. He probably loved the original song by Don Mclean (composed in Van Gogh's honor) and when he heard they were making a movie about vincent he hoped someone would remember this song, and they did.

We have to thank Don McLean for this song “Vincent”, which is a tribute to him. When I listen to this song I get teary because it’s so sad. In particular the word in the chorus:

It’s very sad how a sensitive person like Vincent was misunderstood. He had to struggle with his mental conditions etc & in the end he committed suicide.
We must learn & understanding sensitive people. We all have different degrees of sensitivity. We must do our best to understand each other & love each other.
