On these MTD PowerMore engines there is a small screen behind the fuel inlet elbow attached to the carburetor. Using a pair of vice grips you can slowly twist and pull to remove the elbow from the carburetor. The screen can easily be removed with a small pick type tool. Clean and replace or some just leave the screen out altogether. If you have given your carburetor a complete cleaning and you are still having carb issues, then check the small screen, it could be partially or completely plugged.
Great video. If the engine is revving up and down, would it be just a spark plug ? It’s a troy bilt only maybe 3 years old also on medium choke it runs more smooth
That sounds like it might just be a carburetor adjustment. I have had that happen to be in the past and I just put the choke at the “sweet spot” as a quick fix
@@hobbyhandyman awesome thanks, like i said mine is coming with 3 and I only seen one where the carb mounts to the motor so I was worried I was missing something lol 😂. I bought the machine used like new but someone had took the carb off once so I didn't want to leave one off if it needed it. Thanks for answering!!!!

@@hobbyhandyman same. Choke like half way it runs smooth. How do I adjust carb ?
So you don't use all 3 gaskets? Just curious cause I ordered a new carb off eBay that's coming with 3 gaskets and I only see one on mine?
Great question. I replaced all of the gaskets that I removed. I think the kit came with an extra one which may have been for another model.
