This video is like a high school basketball player asking Michael Jordan about how he decides when he has the ball, whether to shoot it or pass it.

@@joshuastinson3013 yes, its a good interview though. it's the type of questions that beginners will ask. ivey points out the flaws in the question, and then explains how the situation is actually approached or understood.

Nice! Loved it: remember, bluff wont work against a calling station, and wont work against some one who dont think about how you play!

    What Phil says at 4:10....
“If you are playing against someone who is not paying attention, and you try to re-raise/re-steal, it’s not going to work because they are only playing their two cards, not against the player.”
That right there is EXACTLY the biggest dilemma at $1-$2 cash in casinos. At a nearby casino, where I am one of the most “regular regs”, at any given table, at LEAST 5or6 of the 9 villains at the table are not “thinking” players, and are only thinking 2 things:
    “what are my cards?”
    “I can’t win if I fold!”
So it’s very difficult to bluff. And I’ve found it not smart to raise with any kind of marginal hands because you still wind up with 3/4...7 callers. It’s a paradox.

i know what you mean …in that situation i try to wait for the best hand and then try to trap them by trying to make them think that i´m making a bad bluff …its hard to play them when u get no cards thats right …

This Players are so easy to exploid. Whait for a hand, call with good odds and get the most value for your made hands as you can. Easy as that.
Dont make the mistake to think bettter Players are more easy to play. They dont give your money as easy out like the bad players.

vs bad players you can show one bluff and then get them to donate all their money to you when you make a good hand. you can also fold basically any time they raise you bc they rarely bluff raise. even if they do now and then you’re still better off just folding to aggression
unless they’re constantly overly aggressive, then you just wait for a good hand. against clever, but still bad, aggressive opponents in 3bet pots a line i like is halfpot flop, check turn, small river bet (also called a block bet). Lots of bad players hate getting 3bet and cannot give them up, theyre bigger than most pots they play so they just cant help trying to steal it. that line specifically looks super weak and they’ll really try to shove all in on you. But only do this if the guy is fairly clever and you have an actual strong hand for the board.
Vs really dumb guys that just call down dont get cute just pay attention to how much money they have in their stack and figure out a way to get it all in on the river

Best exploit for low stakes is making very strong hands. Figuring out your opponent has a middle strength hand i.e you have a set or two pair and they just have top pair. Get all the money in and watch them snap call ;). Don’t try and get too cute. Just play fundamentally good.
Remember you can’t bluff bad players. Bluffing works better on thinking players that can put your story together and make big folds
