Native American is a term they used only for a short time to refer to those of who are Indiginous to this land. used after & into some of today to refer to Euro-Peons, The Native American Party was a Polictical part of dark skinned europeans who sought to replace our peoples. & some instances they did. & others they didn't. American Indian or Indian is what we are called by law, it means black, But chiefly you should refer to oneself as your tribe. Ayo Hawwah Great Spirit Bless.

It's the Alaskan Inuit that are all butthurt about the term and are trying to turn Eskimo into "their N-word." Silly in my opinion. If you feel like saying Eskimo, say Eskimo, or just ask if someone has a preference. Then again, my family actually has a sense of humour and sometimes refer to ourselves as "snow-japs," which is significantly more offensive. 😂

Interesting that he had a world renowned map maker AND navigator who understood/spoke Hebrew onboard that voyage, why choose a translator who understands Hebrew if he was headed to Hindustan? Doesn't sound like he was lost, especially when Columbus writes to the queen saying he arrived at the mainland 33days AFTER leaving the Canary Islands. But indian religion which Hinduism has a deep impact on ancient native Americans (indians) their religious traditional practices had similar to things that happens in Hinduism for example., They believe that lord ram and sita maa are the two deities that came from sun and given some knowledge about something i dont know about it vry much but it is so interesting and they used to burried deathonces which usually used to did in Hinduism after a death of a person and their ashes used to stored in small container called a ‘Kalash' and they used used to place it under a houselikething which also happens in Hinduism called ‘Samadhi' and their a lot of things that are similar in fact not only American content has a impaction but also in African continent we can see that they used to worship of Hindu deities like Lord ganesh,Durga maa etc and if u see theres a lot of things that u will find that u don't know about hinduism

Native Americans did not like being called Indians instead they called them white Indians for respect.
Native Americans women had a rule of such about children it’s quite sad (search for more info for this fact)
Native Americans traded with Indians for cloth to make clothing pots and items for survival.
The so called place called Canada now used to attack Ohio and other native Americans in the past (west and east) and ruin tribes in America.
The last ice age ended 12,000 years ago or some people say 10,000 years ago.
The native Americans attacked woolly mammoths back in the ice age time so they could stay warm have fur, eat.
Native Americans had a stage of the woodland time and woodland is the first time bow and arrows were used.
Native Americans started having mound builders to bury up dead bodies of old leaders of the pack or nice ancient people.
Back in the day the water was ice so people could walk to other countries, cities, states, or tribes.

Not full blooded but I’m native great grandfather half Cherokee Blackfoot and white mixed other tribes aswell my wife is chocktaw. In my experiences it reigns true WE DO NOT CARE TO BE CALLED INDIAN you will never hear an elder be upset by this it’s what their fathers were called by white men… because anyone who even is a little native which is a lot of the country especially the south and Midwest will call you by your tribe not “Indian” so to me and my wife saying Indian native or indegious people is all the same it’s just saying I know what you are just not exactly.

The natives didn't speak diverse languages because scholars determined they all derived from a single source language like the Adam and Eve concept. Because of this determination, native Americans were considered ancient people's, due to the amount of time it takes for these spin-off languages to develop.

That's a pseudo-scientific theory. There are many language families in North America, and the peopling of the land happened over the course of several migrations over millennia.
Na-Dené, Aleuto-Inuit and Algonquian languages, for example, almost certainly all arrived in North America in separate waves. We're all very diverse and different.

@@omg_beeboexcept dna test’s literally prove that not to be true, in fact , central and North Americans are all the same and all related to this ancient girl found at the bottom of a deep hole in a river, they tested her dna and traced all central and North Americans since all indigenous are of the same East Asians who came here after the last ice age. The native anthropologists said there were already ppl here when they got here though, those are the ppl who were 1st nations

Only problem is... there was no India in 1492. India was called Hindustad. It's believed the the term comes from Columbus' diary when describing the native people as un agente un Dios" Translates to a people under God. Un Dios. Much nobler than being named as a result of geographic ignorance.

I agree 💯 I'm Irish my brother from another mother is Navajo and would never call him a Indian Christopher Columbus was ridiculous someone I would never respect plus he did not discover america Leif Erickson came to America...
Leif Erikson was a Norse explorer who discovered North America as the first European. Or rather, he was the one that first put a settlement on an American island.

We in Ph 🇵🇭 during the time of colonization were called indios. I think they call everyone with brown complexion indio/india bc it makes them more exclusive on their own kind. Until now we know the word indio has a derogatory term. They are not blind we don't look and speak indians. I think many indians don't understand that the root word indio or indian is not a Latin word for Hindu or Hindustan. I
