One thing to remember is that fast food joints have gotten significantly worse over the decades. A McD's burger from the 70s or 80s would be absolutely amazing compared to a McD's burger today.
This is one facet of professional wrestling that many fans are oblivious to. The reality of the job. Almost never sleeping in the same beds 2 nights in a row. Your meals are always suspect and even drinking non-bottled water can be a physical risk. Every single day. They rarely get to sit down have a proper meal and discuss things like we ALL do, well most of us do. It is quite a lonely routine.
I watched this Japanese interview with Shinsuke Nakamura. He said he was driving or flying 99% of the time he was not at a live show or a RAW for the last 2 weeks. You truly need to love what you do to have that schedule.
Professional hired musician. For a long time this was how we did it too. I'm now on three different gigs. ONe is a statium and arena level country singer. That one is nice because of the tour busses with stocked food. A bit of a luxury honestly. My second act is a more club and theater sized act. Still treat us well and while its not common this singer brings in some catering so we're not eating junk constantly which I like as I move a ton on stage. The other one though... Still doing the van and touring like they are hungry. And eating like they are as well. I have the advantage of running an independent business from the music industry that pays me pretty well and lets me travel while working so I do well off all things considered. There has been many a night where the van band has basically broken even and were going to just go through and maybe hit the gas station if they could cobble a few bucks together. I've stepped in and just been like dude no I'd rather go and foot that Wendy's bill over that literal poison. I've now got them thinking more like a larger name act where it takes up some space, but we pack a cooler full of basics and one for stuff we may need while traveling. If you are smart and careful and OK with not eating a hot meal super consistently you can actually eat pretty well if you buy stuff to go in the coolers on the road. For you guys though I imagine even the cooler at times could be a bit tougher especially since you are locked into basically drive through spots or trucks pretty exclusively. I've never thought to ask any of our truck driving guys about that. Is it basically your locked into what's near the freeway and deviating for a grocery store or something like that might take more time off your drive time? Or just because of the issues of getting a big truck in there? Sorry rambling but it got me thinking a bit
I think Dutch is possibly talking about Duff's Smorgasbord, that was the buffet in Tampa back in the 80s. If Dutch wants all you can eat steak, Golden Corral is the place.
I stopped at the Corral recently after probably ten years of not going there. Watching those guys pull up the old containers to drop new ones in the bar, all of the steam water from the bottom of the pan was steady dripping down into everything else that was below it, both as they were pulling up the containers and then as they held them up to scrape out what was left in with the new stuff. I don't know how clean or unclean the water is in the buffet, or how sanitary the bottoms of those stainless steel containers are, but it was enough to remember why I didn't go there. 😂
@@chadwhite2931 stopped eating there after video of them putting expired buffet food on carts and hiding them by the dumpster in it's enclosure while the health inspector came and then rolling it back inside to be served after they left. If people in prison can get fit while living off of ramen noodles, bags of tuna, candy bars and other assorted slop, anyone can get fit even on a fast food diet.
Like a lot of prisoners though a lot of these big bulky wrestlers many times still carried a tire around their belly. Compare body builders on carbs to those on a protein heavy diet and the protein guys tend to be leaner and more cut.
