read something from some guy from violence world (old drift crew) who said usually if cops showed up in city drifitng, they'd leave 1 or 2 or their best drivers (volunteers ofcourse) to delay the cops so that everyone else including the storage cars (tires/wheels) could move on. the purple mk2 and the white one were the two volunteers from the look of it, but the purple boy... he was there to toy with them.

Yeah, i think the japanese police in this situation is not interested in spending energy and resources in an actual chase, they just go there to disperse the drifters and prevent it from becoming a permanent chaos on public road. Albo mentioned in a different video that some drifter guys are getting arrested lately though, so even when it looks that drifters always "get away" I believe the police still keeps investigations going silently.
