You can tell he’s really talented at his job, he’s making the interviewer laugh even when he’s talking about the roughest times of his life. Respect.
Mafia
after you ride to her on 2018 lamborgini she will laught at anything you say
You think? She was laughing at him when he talked about his dark times. She was also acting coy and playing with her hair. I lost respect for her.
@@cherylmedeiros6287 good thing you're irrelevant and hiroko works for a famous youtube channel
@@NaraKwonPoD good thing!
I just love this interviewer. She doesn't judge, she's genuinely interested and she's got great energy which makes it fun to watch and I bet the people being interviewed feel comfortable with her
that's her job LOL

@@AbyssContent we get your point, but there are some interviewers that are terrible with their job.
Did you see how red her face was as she interviewed him. She probably peed a little when he pulled up in the car.
@@AbyssContent Just said the same thing outloud, wanted to comment that but you did.
Never in my life would I see a man pull up with a lamborghini while holding a juice box
That will be "Lamborghini". Sorry for being so stiff about it, but I'm Italian myself.
@@gabrielesolletico518 ooh i'm terribly sorry for the mistake i'll fix it right away ^_^
That's actually the biggest flex

Swag
The facade he puts up is praiseworthy. Just the right amount of emphaty, right amount of showing self awareness of the things he does to cloak the more shady side of his work, the right amount of charm. He has perfected the craft of setting himself up to show himself off. A one man show. This is novel worthy material lol.
damn i couldnt agree more. I'm good at socializing to a point, I love to talk to people, but if i ever get the feeling someone's using me for something I cannot save face. i could never be in this line of work, but im fascinated by anyone that can put up a facade this well
Forreal, this is a great setting for a young adult manga or a modern day thriller
Indeed, he truly is a skilled host. It’s really interesting.
Crazy amount of charisma and very cunning. Heavy dose of boyish charms with a little bit of alcohol and it’s no wonder he’s got regulars who fawn over him.
An absolute grifter and a narcissist. Hollywood should take lessons
That moment you realize Japan has turned Simping into an industry decades ago.
Looks like US is following with Twitch and all the simps who pay just to see the girls on a screen. It's even worst, it's like next level. OnlyFans and Patreon as well.
Dude it's just male prostitution
@@Mr.Eminem They offer a bit more than simply paying for prostitution. These girl can hire them for an entire night. The sex lasts at most 1 hour, the rest of the 5-6 hours are spent talking.

I can't feel anything but sadness for this guy. He was abandonned by his parents at 16, became homeless and was lured into this creepy business so he could afford unnecessary luxury things by beeing pressured into taking advantage of lonely girls. These clubs owners are exploiting the misery of both the hosts and the customers out of pure inhumanity and greediness. What a sad world we live in, almost brings me to tears. I hope he'll find some peace later on in his life.
I return to this video every so often just to watch the part where he rolls out of his lamborghini sipping his juice box.
Fantastic meme
That's not the only box he'll be sipping.
I would watch the anime about this guys life from homeless to juice-sipper so hard

Ouran High School Host Club finally makes sense.
Jessi.s the only difference is that they drink tea w their customers instead of alcohol in the anime.

For those who understand a little bit of Japanese expressions/slangs, you can probably understand why he’s number one just by the way he speaks. I understand a little bit of Japanese and he’s literally making me laugh so much all throughout this interview. It’s so obvious how good he is with people and engaging them and the subtitles do not really do it justice.
Yeah, it sure is.
He really has a charming vibe.
No wonder he's No.1 .
Even the way he talk in interview is kinda amazing.
Ohh, I was wondering why that women was laughing so much about through the whole interview, I guess it's hard to translate japanese
@@xNekoFabux No trust me it’s definitely the subtitles he’s humour and personality is top tier. I don’t think it’s hard to translate japanese because the translation is pretty accurate but I guess it’s hard to translate expressions certain nuances in the language

Honestly, Japan looks like a very sad country filled with lonely souls and suffering people. but to the outside world it looks amazing, happy, fun, and a great place filled with anime and manga cough* culture.
Amen
But that applies only to the people living in cities. I can imagine that it's different for people living in the country side
no
Wow someone who actually gets it. Japan is just miserable, people are not happy there at all. But to us outsiders you are right it looks fun and amazing, and while its fun to go to vacation there I heard from several people who moved there that they missed their home country because of the way Japan works over there. I would like a Japanese GF but not at the cost of living there.
Every country have their good and bad side the percent varies.
As a Japanese i should mention that it’s definitely not normal for Japanese parents to give up on their kids because they failed studying. or any reason. This guy’s case is very rare.
Thank you, this comment somehow makes me really relieved 👍 (why am I that worried in the first place, haha)
fitria ahsani nice to hear that😊 (That’s because you are caring!)
Sad for him
But idk if his parents “gave up” on him he said they basically told him he has to figure out how to live on his own since he doesn’t want to study and that’s reasonable I doubt they just straight up kicked him out I feel like he chose to live in the box for the time being to save his money to move to the city he strikes me as that type of guy I’m the same way I got into so much trouble in my youth and dropped out of high school early and my mom although she supported me told me since you don’t want to go to school you gotta learn to look after yourself and when I said I was going to move out I actually lived in my car for a while until I could afford an apartment for myself instead of trying to find a roommate or live in a hostel type of thing
I think the guy is lying about it
My,Asian Boss are really outdoing themselves. So many different videos on different types of people lives in Asia.

IMO, she is the best interviewer on Asian Boss. I love everything she does.
Same! This interviewer is one of my favorites. Idk what it is about her but she makes the atmosphere so casual
the way he was so comfortable talking about everything, from his failures, hardship to buying a luxury watch, explains pretty much why someone would spend money to be with him. i mean i am not japanese, and pretty much smitten by him.

Maybe it's cuz he already had a car lol
Because Japanese people don't really value cars so much.
Because mazda miata is always the answer
K-dramaKpop Lover Because Japan is freaking tiny and everything is packed together
@Paul Baumann Lol. First of all, this kid knows fuckall about managing his wealth. Secondly, most luxury watches lose value. You're definitely watching too much TH-cam. There are maybe a handful of appreciating 6-figure watches in production. For example, you aren't aware that almost all watches covered in diamonds are worth less than the same unmolested watch. The exceptions are all factory diamond encrusted watches OR a famous piece.
It feels like Kpop/idol groups are strategically formulated/crafted to have this level of public charm in order to drain the wallets of fans. This is the same thing just on a smaller scale and more private setting.
Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are involved in this line of work.

Real life is not rainbows and butterflies and def not like anime
"I decided to prove myself to society and worked at a construction site". I like the way he thinks and he seems like a nice person too.
tamakikawaii that’s how every japanese thinks when they graduate after junior high

@@FiFiFilth his manipulation already working whether they realize it or not lmaooo
His charisma is like straight out of a book the way he plays around with words and makes not beeing accepted in school or beeing homless a funny story
probably fake
Car is probably a Yakuza "gift"
Well I found it being just very Japanees.. I many times see that giggling almost being nervous or shoving up your feelings in the ass whiles talking about something serious or personal.. but that's just how I saw it, personally.
He has told the story hundreds of times.
Aneesh Prasobhan Or he changed the story, a parent wouldn't kick their underage child to the streets just for not getting into a school, maybe if he was involved with gangs like yakuza sure
4:48 he looks so excited to show off his watch 🥺 really cute
bcoz he knows being cute sells especially in japan
This dude friendzones college girls for a living. What a life

Luckiest man ever
He's not the most handsome man in the world but he clearly has a sense of charisma (especially when you look at how the interviewer is reacting). There are probably better looking guys in these clubs but his not overly-intimidating boyish looks probably makes him more approachable
Maybe
yes he is just ok looking but yeah your right women are drawn to charisma i.e swag, charm. and he seem fun to be with, having looks but no personality is boring.
Yokai Clock I think it’s his personality that draws customers to him. He isn’t idol handsome but he seems handsome by the way he carries himself.
I think it's also because he seems easy to talk to. He doesn't put up a macho front and acts humbly.
@@jessicacannady1931 he is not ok looking, man i hate how foreigners thinks their perception of beauty extends to the eastern world. This guy is considered an 8/10 in Korea, Japan and China.
it's funny because people portray Japanese people in media as very awkward and anti social but during these interviews they're so well spoken and calmer than most people
It's quite sad when you know that his parents just gave up on him and asked him to live on his own.
Its like his parrent treat him like a trash
Most japanese parents are like that sadly. Here in Latin America most parents will support their kids until they get a stable job to live on their own. I'm 24 and I'm studying in university, and even though I'm not living with them anymore, they still support me economically.
This is 90% of eastern asian households
I agree no one should give up on their child and it lead him here .. he must have special skills to do so well in that line of work which I image is highly competitive. Hope he's saving for his future as this gig can't last forever.

I think it’s obvious why he is so popular and has a lot of customers, he has a kind vibe to him and despite the cash he has and does flash, he seems grounded, these people dropping the money on him clearly need that connection with a relatively normal person, even if it’s momentary.

and far away from the standard of good look required in appearance-centered industries, like modeling and acting. We have seen handsome Japanese actors and models. It tells us the taste of Japanese women who visit Kabuki-cho.
How can you be a 19 year old girl and have 110k to spend on a guy!? I struggle to understand. With that money, I’d buy myself a freaking FARM! 😅
A great deal of the host model of earning is based on prostitution.
The hosts demand money from women, the women go out and earn money by selling their bodies directly or by being hostesses demanding money themselves.
These top hosts are effectively pimps. They know that's what they are and don't care. Their wasteful purchases bought from the suffering of others.
Some admire it. I think it's pathetic.
Their money, their choice. Ass poor people have no right to judge them.

@xXUsagiXx probably "chaebol heir" or smth.... I don't know japanese equivalent
@xXUsagiXx I've watched a documentary on the host business in Japan and yes it showed that a lot of their customers are female hostesses. They're depressed and lonely and fed up with the type of men they deal with as customers so they go to the hosts for their princely behavior. It's even sadder because the money they earn being a hostess is blown on trying to win the temporary attention of a host.
Chi Nguyễn Lan Crazy Rich Asians
Mommy and Daddy's money
@xXUsagiXx Maybe the parents "support" that under special conditions. - Straight A's perfect behaviour. No one sees her with the host unless it's private restaurant chambers etc, gets "collected" by driver. - And no boyfriend until she has finished her studies stepping in her parents foot/business. / I do pity her. As well as the host who looks very sad.

i was thinking the same thing.
He said "there are still many things I haven't done yet and things that I want to do in my life." It makes me wonder how he envisions his future. Being a host is like being an athlete, it has an "expiration date" or a "best by" date quicker than many other occupations. Whatever he decides to do next, I wish him all the best.
Even though he calls himself "stupid," he's very emotionally intelligent and self-aware, so I know he'll find his path.
working in a construction yard has his exparation day but he made in one day what the construction guy made in a month. if he is a little bit smart he is saving a little bit on the side and when he expires he can enjoy a beach life
Most hosts end up making less money than an average person. There are just too many who end up wasting their money towards the end of their career with no job experience and cannot fix their over extravagant lifestyle.
Well for one, if everything else fails he can easily open up his own place. These top guys end up with so much psychological knowledge, that the charisma would never fade. It has to come from somewhere too. It's not an easy task to be a listener, and i would think most of these top dudes are good at that. Throwing compliments is just one thing in their line of work. If you're good all around it wouldn't be wrong to say he could easily be doing this up to his mid 30s.
PhilosophicalBum21 this comment is so pure 💕
Actually women dont mind age as much as men. Most men look for young girls even when they are at their 50's but women's preference usually get older with their age and they look for charisma. Its a proven fact. Which this guy has.
"i wouldn't buy this on my own"

This guy should've played Light Yagami in the death note live action
Agree. But would not complain having 'Shishio' did it. 😊

Thank God someone said that. I was thinking the same
People only see the bling but I see a very lonely kid. His story is quite sad... and his dream of 'owning stuff' and 'wearing nice clothes' is very telling. On the other hand, I admire his will to fight and his tenacity to never give up on life. If you looked pass the booze and the party, you'd see a struggling young man trying to find his place in this world. I wish him luck.
EDIT: Some people have accused me of being a 'feminist' and that I'm jealous of this young man. I just want to say that I have not a single iota of jealousy. I had some rough times growing up myself but I never had to endure homelessness and fend for myself at the age of 16. This person really had it rough and I'm just stating my observations. I admire and feel sad for him at the same time. That's all.
Driving a Lamborgini and wearing a 100k watch is not struggling. I think he's living the life. Your just hating.
Flash he probably is. But he has to sell himself for it. And I think that would be hard for anyone. Specially at such a young age of 16.
@@user-qi9pi7lt3q Who doesn't have to sell themselves in this world to get what they want? You have to sell yourself when getting a job interview or kiss ass to your employer just to get promoted don't you?
Circe every coin has its two sides.. it is sad that a such a young boy was given up by his parents but fortunately or unfortunately he is living the life now.. but when all this good looks and age are there no more I hope he has some one next to him and hopefully some money as well😊

Imagina having a kid but you don't want to support him/her in their toughest time of their lives. Some kids here are stealing money from their parents or selling their items for drugs, surely if the parents are poor, kids will get beaten and lectured, but to kick them out of the house because they suck at school? i guess that's one of the reason of the declining birth rate in japan. Non Japanese people first you need to understand Japan better besides what you might think or have seen. There is a huge dark side in Japan. This is one of them. This kid is not rich at all. It's like a rapper in the USA. They get advances by the label. Well, in this case the record label is the Yakuza. Yes, they are very active but it's not all what you think it is. Kabuki-cho is known for this type of industry. It is most likely that because Kunugi is a popular host that he can receive certain advances. What I also think is that his boss borrowed him that Lambo so that the company can be portrayed as bling bling in this video. The fact that Kunugi was disowned by his own parents makes him an easy target for the Yakuza and other crime orgs in Japan.

Rosanna Berckley Loneliness, especially among seniors, is a very serious issue here in the Netherlands. It’s gotten so serious that the government created jobs specifically in the social work field for these people.
The reason for this issue is that Dutch people lead very non-social lives. Dutch people’s family and social lives aren’t so tight-knitted as those of other cultures.

I'm married to an ex-host and worked as one myself some year ago so I'm kind of familiar with this kind of world. We both struggled so much, it's not easy at it seems to be at all. Luring customers is quite easy, keeping them is not. Most hosts quit their job early because the pay is ridiculously low. And you feel lonely every day. Surrounded by so many people who like you just for your look. Personally, I'm happy me and my husband did find another job at last and be happy together. Just don't judge other people's choices badly because you don't agree with something, we are all humans and have a heart with emotions even if you have to discard it sometimes in this world if you want to succeed in life.
Fulvia Maccarrone it would be really interesting if you would make a video about it. Since I only read about the bad outcomes of this industry in this comment section. Can you leave on free will or is it more complicated than that? Did your moral stand points change? A lady in this comment section wrote about knowing a man that got severely suicidal after retiring because of working in that industry for 20 years and owning 2 host clubs. Also she wrote about a customer trying to kill themselve because she felt deceived by the host. Are stories like these common?
Its good for you. I hope you will always happy. I mean both of you
Yes, unfortunately this stories are VERY common. And especially if you are ranked low at first you have to drink so much alcohol that basically ruins your organs for life. My organs were spared somehow because even if I needed money I thought at my health first and didn't drink too much. But my husband has to take medicine because of it and is in costant pain. The fact that you can or can not leave on free will varies from host club to another. There are usually very strict rules you have to follow and you can not just leave from day to night. But in some cases you can. For the part about girls or guys acting crazy...I received a lot of dead threats when some girls discovered me and my boyfriend at that time were really dating and in love. Some japanese girls can get really scary. And like one year ago there was a guy injured by a customer's blade. Anyway it's not prostitution like some people wrote it is quite incorrect I would say, maybe they don't understand the culture fully but it is definitely different ...hosts and hostesses provide just male or female company to people who feel lonely in order to make them feel a little happier. Not sleep with them. This is totally unrelated.
@@アリアちゃんチャンネル I'm so sorry to hear your story. I hope you and your husband always happy and determined to face all those problem. It's a tough day for you guys but both of you make it. May God bless.

Thank you for the laugh 😂
It’s a combination of salesman and prostitute. I lived in japan. There are also a ton of hostess (female hosts) clubs. I know people who work there. They get a certain percentage of the drinks they make the customer buy. On top of that you can go to a private room with some hostess for a certain price and get various sexual services. Of course as a male host, sexual services will be requested less ( as everybody knows men like sex more than women) but it’s the same job just the male version. The only weird thing here is... that besides japan I know no other country that has demand for male hosts.
There are plenty of Gentlemen Hosts on cruise ships, so I guess you can say they are in international waters rather than in any particular country.
@@swlk9996 sooo i'm curious, would a black, 25 year old American guy be able to work and make good money as a host?

Some Japanese do feel fulfilled inside. Its just a matter of how everyone perceive happiness. Some have a very low standard for happiness while some have a very high standard for happiness. What I mean is, some people feels fulfilled over simple little things while other needs much more.
Everyone is not the same. Each one is unique.
@@banned0404 The reason for being happy is different for everyone but the feeling of happiness or pain or hunger is same for everyone .. Having money is not the problem..
