The hose is for siphoning gas. You put the metal piece in the gas tank and shake it up and down.
See if the front nav light switch is on. That would be why the nav light is on at the steering wheel.
The nav light switch may be a three position switch. On my boat it gives you the option to flip it down and leave just the rear light on for stopping to fish early in the morning and then if you flip the switch to the middle it turns off. Then if you flip the switch up it turns all lights on. If you have a nav light switch at the bow it may be on also. Great looking boat man! Im a basscat guy but stratos is a good looking boat. Witn that 200 that should be a 68-70mph boat

Man, you go all out! I would just get everything working first before starting to tear out things like livewells. But then, I don't think I have your level of patience or skill in repairs. Can't wait to see the new boat progress! Good luck with it!

Love your channel learned a lot watching made me want to try it got a old Glass stream I'm going to restore. And the tube you found is a siphoning tube the balls in it allow you to get the liquid flowing by shaking tube up and down. Handy for stuff with fumes like fuel or dirty oily water

I just rebuilt a 2005 stratos 486sf on my channel. Its cake work. That boat has no wood in in. It should have a sticker on the transom that says composite hull "no rot" that was one of the main reasons i built this hull for my family. Trash the trolling motor, trash the carpet, install turf. Ill hook you up with some new lids if you need them? Low comp could be a major issue... I wouldnt have paid more than 3k! Good luck brotha! 🤞
I had fished out of one of those boats for many years and did a millions of tournaments . And those live wells are just fine. We never lost any fish.
Hose is a siphon hose. The ball in the copper fitting keeps you from having to put your mouth on the hose
For the motor not peeing. Take off the cowling and disconnect the hose from the block and make sure it's clear of any debris. Blow it out with an air hose, alot of time it just has dirt in it from sitting. I would love to see you tackle seadeck on this boat as well now that you have done it once! There are very little videos of DIY seadeck or eva foam on bassboats!

I’ve rebuilt pontoons and the thing I learned first and foremost is get the engine working first. Then spend money on the rest otherwise you are forced to eventually spend a lot of money if the original engine is bad. I rebuilt a whole pontoon only to find the motor was just not going to work. Couldn’t abandon the build because I put too much into the boat itself.

Great content! ive been doing the same thing for years now. Done over 15 complete rigs from gel coat to complete carpet jobs. I thought this video was cool. Build one up send it down the road and buy another.
Yeah it’s a syphon, it’s for your gas. If you put the metal end in the gas and the plastic edge in the gas port and do a up and down motion the gas will syphon from the can to the boat. It’s really useful cause it’s easy to use.
If you plan to spend any real amount of time on the deck of that boat, I would suggest going with carpet and a 1/4" antimicrobial foam. Just finished my Stratos with this set up and it's more comfortable than my house!
It already looks fairly good. I would just clean it up, get everything working, new seats and if anything some new fish finders. Down the road, I would put in a trolling motor with spot lock.
A little late to the party... My first boat was a 07 Stratos 176XT with a Merc 50... Upgraded the piss out of it and sold it for more than I paid for it a few months back. Moving on to a 2025 Vexus. Definitely contact C&O for Stratos parts. AND FOR PETE'S SAKE, GET A MULTIMETER LOL!

Swap the motors out on the Stratos and Bass Cat, sell the Bass Cat to break even, and you have a great boat at the end of the day 👍

I feel I got a fresh open mind with this one. Bass cat gave me a run for my money so this boat I feel I know exactly what I need to do haha
I’ve got a 2002 Javelin but it’s Technically called the Stratos J-Series so it has a very similar lay out to this Stratos. The live wells are very small and to put a good bag of fish in there I gave to take the middle out of it every time. Also one reason your lights are staying on, if it’s anything like mine, there is a switch in the front of the boat around where your trolling motor is it could be turned on which won’t let it turn off at the dash. I also think the rod tubes are removable because mine didn’t have any and I can fit plenty of rods in there.
The hose meant for siphoning. Water gas or any thin liquid. Often referred to as a jiggle hose. They work amazing if used correctly and out end is lower
The fitting on the hose/tube is a check valve the tube is used to siphon fuel put the check valve on tank of fuel and move hose up and down leaving valve in fuel and it will get the siphon started no sucking

That’s a siphon hose. The fitting goes in the fluid/water and the shake it up and down to start siphoning.
You have room for a net in the Stratos. Nice troubleshooting on the fuse. I look forward to more of the restoration

Battery terminal cleaning tool, the tube is a siphen tool, just put in water and shake to siphen water.
Yes terminal cleaner , the hose may fit into your live well pump out hole to fill your weigh bag .
The floor panel between the seats and the livewell should come out for gas tank removal. Screws probably hidden by carpet. The 294 is one of the best Bassboat hulls ever built. The livewell is plenty big for a 5 Bass limit.

Yes that is a battery terminal cleaner the hole is for the terminal cleaner and the other side is a brush to clean side terminals
That is called a safety siphon. It’s a self charging siphon. You put one of the ends into your gas move the hose up and down and it should start to pump. I know what it is but I’ve never had one so not sure exactly what side, I would imagine the metal end with the ball
That hose is logged hose used to siphon liquids. That “connector” has ball inside to act as a one way valve lets water in but not out. I stick in the liquid and move it up and down to fill the hose until you get it primed to start the siphon.
Looks like a wiring problem that is one of the worst things to try to fix! But I know you will get it done! Can’t wait for the build to start! Good job on the fuses btw!
Good thing is older boat wiring is really simple. There's no logic circuits involved. It's straight 12v. As long as he can get 12v to the switch panel that's 1/2 the job. And then it's pulling new wires off the switched poles of the switches to where they need to go.
Sometimes theirs a three way navigation switch at the front of the boat and if it's in the on position then it might not turn off at the console. Plus threeway navigation switches go bad and get stick internally no matter which position the rocker is in.
take the tubes out of the rod locker and get rod sleeves for all your rods, you will be able to fit double-triple the amount of rod capacity
stratos made some of the prettiest boats on the market.
Some motors won’t pee out water when hooked up to muffs, not enough water pressure. The line could also be plugged up with mud, or other debris, regardless, I would put a water pump rebuilt kit in it.
If you want to make it easy, just pick up an electric fuel pump from harbor freight and hook it up to the fuel tank, prime the ball, and turn on the pump..you may have to prime it while the pump is on.. once it gets suction, it will pump all the old fuel out for you
Your nav light is a 3 position switch. Usually, up is nav/anchor light, down is just anchor light and in the middle is off
I’m late to the video but that’s a hose for a siphoning. You put the metal part in the liquid and jerk it up and down to prime it and get it flowing.

Chasing electrical issues is often like chasing smoke
Use a little dielectric grease on your fuses. It woll help control corrosion in a wet environment.

When i bought my boat, the guy hooked the motor up to the water hose and mufflers and it wouldn't pee. Got it home and put it in a huge trash can full of water and it DID pee. Just throwing that out there,
If the carpet is in good condition leave it. Replace the Impeller so you know it's new. Drain gear oil, look for water.
That hose and copper fitting is a jiggler pump. Probably was used to drain the gas tank if I had to guess. And you guessed it, a battery terminal cleaner for the other tool.
A jug of Dawn dish soap and a garden hose will do wonders on the hull interiors

Seriously though take some weed trimmer line and run it through the tell tale to see if a dirt dobber or spider built a nest in it. Happens all the time.

The shaker end goes IN the liquid. There’s zero way to get it into any modern gas tank neck and be able to move it.

The livewell should be fine with the divider removed. I really hope you don't try to add the dry compartment as livewell space as was hinted. It's unnecessary and will unbalance the boat while on plane

when ur hooking up a big motor to a water hoes it might not pee water my yama 150 did not pee when i hooked it up when i bought it
If you’re using the flushing port it won’t. That port isn’t used to run the motor as it doesn’t reach the lower unit. Never run the motor on a flush port. Use muffs and it’ll pee.
Instead of painting this one. You should do a self install wrap with your logo on it..
Fill your fish bag with the hose
Get a test light before you dig into the wiring.

Don't toss those seats! Save them, they look original. Take them to a local auto / marine upholstery company and have them reskinned

You will NEVER find a better bass boat in terms of performance, handling and functionality. THAT is the best hull design of all time and most of the big boys have copied it to a great degree. I would have gone with w 201 PRO XL for the ultimate in all things bass boat. That boat puts all others to shame.
