Have you run the line that way deliberately? The line should go round the inside small guide wheel first, then round the driven wheel then out and round the outside small guide wheel. That way the line is in contact with 360 degrees of the driven wheel and you don't have to pull on it. I just let the line slip over my palm into the boat. (if you do have a mishap I hope that cleat it's tied to is well bolted down!)

Scotty only recommend using their Line Puller on the swivel mount. Anything else will crack the base, eventually.
I'm sure they do, job security. Im going to install the metal two bolt block soon onto my boat.

With the figer that fits into the driven wheel, you cant wrap it that far around, look at the rear bottom.
Are you still running with 30A fuse or did you change to 40A?
