Love this lick--- five stars! This is really excellent for beginners/intermediate players for several reasons, in my humble opinion. First it sounds great, second it has fundamental finger moves you need to practice for boogie woogie/blues/rock and roll, and it's a wonderful warmup, and if you can get this up to speed you're on your way to further success. It also lends itself to extensive improvisation depending on your skill level from beginner to expert, and you can add vocals to it as well.

Another great lick! These are always a challenge, but as you indicated, if you keep at it, you will eventually get it! I had to go VERY slow in order to sync up both hands, but it worked!!

I'm still trying to figure out how many tens of thousands of times I'm going to have to struggle through this before having the coordination to do it smoothly...I do thank you though for giving me something to keep trying even if I never grasp it...

    Jay,
I love how you built this on your basic C-G-A left hand pattern. I've been practicing it daily like you suggested, am up to almost 20 minutes now. My goal is an hour like you did. this Lick is perfect to add to my practice. Keep these coming! You are a superb teacher.

I’ve been watching your vids for about a year now, and practicing your left hand patterns. But I like this vid best bc you show BOTH hands working in unison, first very slow, then sped up. I think this is the most effective way to learn.

I think it would be great if you did more videos (like this one) where you demonstrate with notes some sexy right hand patterns(are they called riffs?) over this left hand lick that you have taught us all. Thanks for the videos they are incredible.

I would need the sheet music to get the hand independence down - I can't tell what you're doing solely trying to see which keys are depressed.

Cheers 🍺 That's correct.. C F and G keys are popular with boogie woogie piano.. Check out my '12 bar frenzy' video for examples of other keys and 12 bar progressions 👍🎹😎

I am a beginner. It was pleasant learning until the 14:13 minute. When you combine everything into something that sounds really good. You don't detail how to play the combination, and that's a pity.
