Same here. I taught myself to play piano when I was about 8 but fell in love with the guitar because it was easier to write music and sing/ accompany myself. Still play piano every once in a while, but definitely wish I would have stuck with it like I did guitar.

In my case the left hand was so easy at first, even using both hands with the simple chords on the right hand, however left hand got complicated by the end of the clip, when adding more variations on the right hand. I practiced for 20 min first day unsuccessfully combining the hands nicely, but next day I managed to get it right and now can’t stop. Thank you for this gold material.

As a guitarist I recently decided to learn to play keys so I bought an electric piano and saw this. It was only two times through when I had it up to speed and playing like you. Or at least that is how my head saw it--reality, well let's see how that goes. It may take a while, but you certainly made it digestable. Great lesson! If I only still had my younger fingers.

i dont comment on videos often but just had to say thank you so much!! practiced this for three months straight & now i finally can just close my eyes and jam on my keyboard till my hands hurt :D (also for any other lower level and intermediate players i recommend looking up left hand independence exercises to not get tripped up as the right hand melody gets more complex)

That's amazing. My grandmother taught me this exact way when I was five, maybe six. The left hand was the same rhythm but a little more complex. I so badly need to get a piano

I remember when you were just getting your channel started and look at it now with over 2M views and close to 25K subscribers. Well done Jay. It's your method that shines, with everything needed to efficiently teach the technique and no unnecessary commentary or endless repetition to scrub through. Pause / Play / Rew / Playback Speed are available TH-cam tools to learn from any video whether it be automotive repair or Boogie licks. Also commendable are channels like yours where the sole objective is to simply teach, promote art and share knowledge.
