- For once the experts were right, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard was taken 15th overall by the Detroit Red Wings. The 6'1" winger is an aggresive forechecker with a wicked shot, who also brings staunch defensive reliability. Also, Stamkos and Kane updates #lgrw

Hes a fast, athletic skater with a really nice shot from range. All things we need. Great pick
Detroit has a history of making super successful picks "off the beaten path" and we definitely need quality power forwards instead of just pure offensive guys.
MBN physical play has been compared to Krieder and Palmieri so I would be happy with that.
As for Eiserman's fall. Teams were concerned he was self centered and only seemed to play with the USDTP to chase record for scoring........His team play was described as non existent.
Still NYI got great value for a player once mentioned for the top 5 earlier in the year.
Did anyone notice the Jersey they gave him at the draft already had his name on it? They definitely got who they wanted. Exciting pick, best pick since Raymond.
All the teams do that with their jerseys, lol. They use a velcro name plate so that they can easily produce a jersey with their picks name on it lol.
@CertifiedClapaholic saw a lot of generic team names on other picks backs
I'm super stoked about the pick. He's a damn good player, and us making history is pretty cool too.
Kane Stamkos DeBrincat 2nd line 🤯
Could you imagine lol. F**K i hope so.
Brian got a new lid!!!
Not disappointed with the pick, very solid NHL size player. I was hoping they would trade the pick to get some help in net, but we do need help at Wing. Larkin will be in his 30s by the time we see him at the NHL level though.
We have our help in net in the form of two young goalie prospects that are coming up through the farm system. Why would we waste top picks on even more?
You two are terrific. I'll start listening.
Best damn draft pick in a decade, Stanley Cup here we come
Woke up groggily and for a split second I thought they drafted a 15 year old! 😂
Only off by 3 years.
Well, most of the eligible players still look like they're 15.
I like all the people who do zero research and have the audacity to trash on this kid.
That's most fans on most sports teams, really annoying.
There was not much left, no surprises by pick 15 to slide anyone down to us.
MBN is a system guy, not drive a line or put the team in dire jeopardy with a stupid penalty.
He is perfect for what the Red Wings look for.
Too many people, without patience, think they know more than guys who've been in and around the league their entire lives. The world is filled with armchair GMs.
Literally everyone wanted them to pick Eiserman. Even the commentators were like "they better pick him if they want to make the playoffs". That's a direct quote, I was dumbfounded lol There's a reason 5 other teams passed on him after us. Kid is atrocious playing defense.
@@T-Will-4554 They didn’t say that, they were joking about how they wanted Yzerman to pick Eiserman…
I am probably wrong but Eiserman could possibly be another Zadina type player. IF that turns out to be the case then i am glad the Wings took a chance on Nygard
Eiserman is going to be another Mantha, and Mantha fell in the draft for a lot of the same reasons. Still probably a 20 goal a season guy, but his hockey sense and work ethic are highly questionable.
He's not the 2 way type player the wings are interested in Yzerman said that after the draft
@@dcl97People complaining about Walman, my opinion is we needed to open a roster spot and our journalist asked and Yzerman said he has tried but it is hard to move money around the NHL right now
My guess would be one of the 2 players we got has more upside then Walman but I'm not a GM
The Yzerman interview said a lot... looks like bregs and 12 vet forwards going into camp. Honest suprised not leaving any spots open.
I love the pick , predictable or not.
In the Allsvenska playoffs I have read that if it wasnt for him the team wouldnt have won the games they did. And he broke the record for points scored by a rookie ever in allsvenska with 10 points in 12 games. So I hope thats a gode sign.
For me, it was always MBN or Helenious(if he fell). We might be getting him and ASP at the same time too.
I like the pick. I saw it coming, He's Stevie's type of guy. I am very happy with just having a possible 2nd line power forward and I think he's it.
100% on your opinion
For the people who dislike the MBN pick... Remember the fan reactions when Seider was picked 👌
🎯
Didn't we pass on 92 points this season from "Hughes" ? And pick Seider.
@@benjaminbrewer7614 yes, I wasn't brining up that point though. My point was, a lot of people thought Seider would be no good.
@@datcrazywhiteboy6205 I think you're referencing Zadina too. Hughes was too high to take in the 2019 draft.
@@benjaminbrewer7614 nope. That was kenny holland picking Filip " fill their nets with pucks" Zadina over Hughes. Seider was drafted the following year.
Well he did play in Mora .. a city world famous for their high quality knives so therefore the boy must be pretty sharp ! Lol
MBN only signed in skelleftea for one year
so your saying a fast perron?
The patch…
good observations on mbn, keep up the great podcasts boys.
Hope we get Tanner Howe in round 2. Hes from Saskatchewan!
Max Plante is great too ! Was sad to see Howe stole by the pens but Plante is a great pick up too
Very whelmed. He could be a sleeper to be a kreider type or he’s yet another third line type guy. Idk at some point we gotta take a swing on serious upside. It’s also looking more and more like walman was a bag of pucks.
@stenco-eh1hdthat doesn’t explain anything though. You still don’t trade a second to get rid of walman who is an average player with a reasonable salary cap. And dear god why would we want trouba
@@DONWASABIJUAN Had to make a roster move, Yzerman said he has tried but it's hard to move money around the league right now. My guess is Walman was only player under current contract that didn't have a no trade clause so that's who we got rid of to retain this pick
Or we gave up Walman to draft this guy because he has more potential then Walman 🤷 I'm not a GM but listening to Stevie talk after draft yesterday that's what I gained from the questions he was asked
@stenco-eh1hd Kane can pick, let him go then. Detroit really put their necks out for him after a experimental surgery and he wants to bolt let him bolt. But it shows his true personality.
Yeah they’re just never going to take a swing. Only in the late rounds.
Gotta have a solid foundation first. Once they are picking mid-late 20s and making the playoffs then you can add some flash if it's there.
@@dominator9059 They do not have a solid foundation at all. What they have is no way up to par with what the other young Atlantic teams have as talented youngsters. Especially comparing with Buffalo and the Habs. Habs just killed in the 1st round tonight. I.d take Hughes as a GM right now way before Yzerman.
I mean, it was the most predictable pick, but MBN is still a type of player that the wings need. Steve is gonna have to get more skill through trade or free agency one year.
The Sharks will tell Yzerman to consider going to fly a kite in the future in exchange for an everyday roster player.
No trade day movement. No 4d chess.
Pardon
@@andrewborodyno idea what he’s yapping about
Zeev was right there. I’m tired of this conservative nonsense
A badly needed power forward.
Probably the second most predictable pick of the entire draft
Trash pick for the garbage patch kids. Enjoy the next 3 years in sweden. Hey maybe he'll be good enough to make the shl next year.
He already is going to the SHL.
The SHL team that he’s going to play for is the team that won, so it’s one of the best Swedish teams. ASP plays there as well.
He's probably a bottom 6 guy in 4 years!
@@davidlaffin5747 Is that bad? In the world’s best hockey league?
Trash comment
