Not gonna lie I don't know many of these guys who get drafted anymore. So I come to your guys channel 😂😂to get schooled
I'm interested in seeing Axel Sandin-Pelikka in a winged wheel jersey. I think he will be a special d-man for DRW in the near future
Too many people listen to talking heads about who we need and who we don't. The fact of the matter is the Wings got screwed in the lottery, and haven't had the #1 pick since the 80's. They don't have Bedard, Hughes, or Celebrini, and because of that they have to win in a different way. They aren't going to be a top heavy team, with 3 guys scoring all their goals. If they had any lottery luck that would be possible, but since they didn't they have to be a well rounded, punishing, defensive team. Their future is Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson, Danielson, Kasper, Sandin-Pelika, Mazur, Johanssen, MBN, Cossa and Augustine. Does that seem bad? To me that seems like a lot of talent, and an exciting future. Don't lose faith, some analysts say we have the #1 prospect pool in hockey, and we missed the playoffs by the smallest margin possible last year with only two of those players on the team. Give it time, stay the course, and remain positive.
How'd they get screwed? They missed the playoffs by 90 seconds and got the 15th pick. Or did you mean 2 and 3 years ago?
@@bluelantern5241 Obviously the earlier years.
Teams don’t win a cup that are top heavy. This is nothing new. Even Edmonton knows this, and they have the best player that has walked the earth.
@@bluelantern5241over the last 7 years they fell in the lottery more than almost anyone
People just don't have any patience anymore. We live in an instant gratification society.
Funny when he said MBN forechecks like a dog 🐕 it barked in agreement and took that as complement;).😁
Draper is in charge of scouting. He will always recommend. a prospect who reminds him of himself.
Been compared to Chris Kreider and Kyle Palmieri.......... In the pre draft interviews MBN is a very likable guy,
His personality sort of reminds me of pre - concussion Franzen who was a little quirky and ready for levity with a chippy edge out on the ice. Right now he has the frame to add even more muscle, he looks like a very solid build.
MBN and ASP will play together next year with Skellefteå AIK so that probably had a lot to do with the selection also.
I like it tbh
A somewhat random comment. I’m an American living in Norway and playing beer league here. Even the low-level beer league Norwegian players are insanely competitive and will do anything to win a game. If MBN follows that national trait, we did well.
Just might be the first I've ever heard of a sleeper first round pick. MBN could surprise us all.
@@lesevesel2898 I watched him at the worlds playing for Norway and was quite impressed. Good forecheck, high energy, and the shot is excellent. And he was playing against nhl players. So, we shall see.
@@pz29 Can't wait!
My Nyggard!
You cheeky bastard!
He reminds me of a slightly smaller, Chris Kreider
Haha, it’s funny how you are going back and forth, speculating who they’re going to pick, even almost being sure it’s Solberg at one point. And then when they select MBN you say that it was very easy to predict. 😀
Eiserman would have been great!!
Kind of obvious that Yzerman wants to build a team that’s tough to play against, kind of like the Panthers. Tough teams win cups, but eventually we need a superstar.
A key factor you’re missing is MBN will be playing with ASP next year in the SHL. So hopefully 2025-26 they’ll have built some chemistry and be superstars in Detroit… we’ll see.
Bro neither of these guys will be in Wings uniforms for another 2-3 years
@@imronburgundy69 26-27 at the latest in my opinion
Can't wait to watch all the high end scoring talent we passed on flourish in the next few years. Yzerman is trying his hardest to out mild Minnesota. We want to be the most mid team the nhl has ever seen.
But we'll skate 200 feet better than anybody. THAT, you can count on!
Takes what on paper is considered the best player available (boring).
MBN is ~3 years away from being an NHL player, if he even reaches that level. Played in youth hockey and in HockeyAllsvenskan, a tier below the SHL. This year's draft is very uncertain if you don't have top 5 picks.
From 24/25 MBN is in *Skellefteå AIK organization together with ASP in SHL (*Champions). MBN only has a 1 year contract with Skellefteå today which covers his participation during 24/25. This is something I like as it gives increased flexibility to find new solutions to his needs.
MBN needs to work on increasing his speed, stickhandling as he drops a lot of pucks and how to take tight turns. Playing at a lower level has its drawbacks, not really the best facilities and so on. As many including myself classify him as a "power forward" these qualities are what he needs to improve now.
It will be interesting to see how he is used in Skellefteå during the year and how he reacts to facing better players. As Norwegian citizens, they are always very polite, have a great sense of humour.
Personally, I can see Burger & MBN becoming best friends if they are both part of future RW. It's good for Norwegian hockey that two players were already taken in the first round, doesn't happen every year as far as I know.
MBN and Solberg has made Norwegian hockey history it has never happened before that Norwegian players have been picked in the first round the closest was marius holtet who was picked in the second round in the early two thousands. This huge for Norway and the hockey program.
HIs stat line is similar to Filip Forsberg/Jespert Bratt, he did really well at WJC too
lol
5p/7games for Norway in the mens WC . Very quick release, has snipe of a shot!
im disappointed we didn't get eiserman, he's going to be a stud i think
a power forward
Danielson is a 30 plus guy
Lmao Evan's reaction
Most mocks I seen did have this kid going 15-16
I deleted the comment yesterday, but I am leaving it up on this video. You guys need to cut ties with lying hacks like Sean Shapiro. It is a bad look being associated with people like him.
Should of done drafted Greentree, not sure why he fell so far
Please trade Copp 2nd, 4th. to CGY/SJ + 1 MILL AAV retained so we can have ADB, STAM, KANE, X Larkin Raymond. I do not like this approach, but where the wagon has lead us. Didn't get the top 5 picks over last couple years, signed some bad deals, need a legit 1C or 2C (not copp, not compher etc). Accelerate the toss out of the 'place holders' Keep berggren and go from there. That is plenty of money to get this done. 91 at $7 over 4, Kane, 3 X $5
Who's ADB?
I think he means Alex DeBrincat
I called this pick not even knowing anything about the kids getting drafted
Nygard please
So we just drafted a 3rd line winger? Yippie we're going to be the Minnesota wild
No Kid has top 6 upside all night long 3rd liner would be his flour as a projection
@@user-ed6nt1ml6p you're delusional.
“Can score some goals”…he had 18 points in 40 games..
In the men's Swedish league.... that's more impressive than a player scoring 80 points in the OHL or WHL. Plus he tore up the playoffs and worlds. Almost set the playoff goal record. Obviously they draft with a theme, defensively responsible, high compete, high IQ. That's what a teams needs to make deep runs. Guarantee this guy is going to be good. He could've taken Eiserman but that dude is atrocious playing defense lol hence why 6 other teams passed on him 😂
How many times can we draft the same player? We constantly draft the safe player with limited offensive upside over the elite upside with limited defensive skills. We draft the guys with 2nd line ceilings and wonder why we don't have any one develop into stars. I hope I'm wrong but first watch I'm not super impressed with his stick handling or agility. Very much a dump and chase guy it seems. Holding out for a blockbuster trade
The more and more I look at it I look who just won the cup this year. You need those guys.
Idk if I see him as just a dump and chase guy. I think there is more to his game than just a third line checker. I do agree that it seems we’re just spinning our wheels with no elite talent in sight. Yzerman and co almost seem hell bent on building a team of nice guys that try hard. I have no clue how we inject serious elite talent into this lineup but it’s sure as hell not going to be through the draft
Yea pretty boring. Dude had 8 goals in 40 games. I don’t see how taking a shot at Eiserman there ruins the franchise. The one thing we need is goal scorer’s.
@@jasonkemppainen4731 Wings can’t even be talked about in the same sentence as the Panthers. Polar opposite teams.
@@TimmyGotTriggered88 It’s not about now. It’s about the principle.
What’s with us and Swedes? 😂
He is norwegian not swedish
We’re going to be stuck in mediocrity for YEARS. I don’t see any indication of elite talent down the pipeline. At least I have my second team (Panthers) since half of my family lives in a Florida since 2008.
