For a game that requires you to be silent the footsteps are sure loud as hell Edit 1: i know it's a demo and when the final game releases, i hope it's more immersive than this. Players shouldn't adjust to feel the game's universe, it's the other way around.
Pretty sure that's the point. You don't realise just how loud you are, between clothing, breathing & other functions, until you're in a situation that requires you to be completely silent. It's nigh impossible, which adds to the tension & suspense of the circumstance.
I wish there was noise detection in this game where if you made a noise in real life, the creatures in the game could hear you. Like In alien isolation
Some of y’all need to realize that if the Death Angels in this were as sound sensitive as they were in the movies, the game would literally be unplayable Edit: You guys still don’t understand. The fact that you’re in the same building as this thing at all is pretty much a death sentence. A small quiet grunt or cough to yourself would get you killed immediately. That’s how sensitive these things are.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the sounds are so loud as to invoke a sense of fear and dread in us as players. Of course we're going to think we're being loud enough to draw a Death Angel's attention. I think its intended to make us paranoid. Perhaps that's how it feels for the people in the movies. They're so afraid of sound that they're hypersensitive to every little decible of noise.
Yeah but after 5 minutes you are used to it. A single sound in otherwise silence is so much scarier than just making a shit ton of noise and hoping your audience gets worried that something will happen
Everybody complaining about the loud footsteps, but this would be realistic if it was real life. Just imagine yourself getting home, waaaay passed curfew, you sneak indoors.... the slightest sound you make, sounds like a bulldozer in a death silent house and you just know in the back of your head, your mom or dad or even both can hear you. Even a little sqeak from the door can mean the difference between a good night or a world of trouble. So yeah i think the loud footsteps is meant on purpose by the developers for that psychological feeling of making too much noise with the slightest error.
I'm not surprised there's a videogame of Quiet Place coming. It's prime horror game material. I'm just surprised it took so long for it to come to fruition, the first movie came out in 2018. I'm even more surprised that of _all_ handicaps for the main character to have, it has to be asthma XD The only worst thing in this situation would have been terminal lung cancer.
well considering game development takes 3-5 years for an AAA game i'd say this was right on time being that they got inspiration from the 2018 original release. you gotta remember they have to get the licensing first, gather the crew to work on the game, find a publisher, build the game from the ground up, fix bugs, polish it, market it, etc... hell, the first year after the movie released was probably this team pitching the idea to someone to publish it. AAA gaming takes time. especially something this refreshing and not copy and paste like COD.
it looks amazing but i feel like the death angels should be more responsive with footsteps as the footsteps when walking seem too loud for them to ignore especially when they can catch a rat running across the floor like that.
I chalk it up to Death Angels being much more sensitive to high-pitch sounds (after all, their weakness _is_ high-frequency sound) so a rat squeaking or glass breaking would alert them much easier and from farther away than the rather low-pitch of a footstep or soft breathing. Also there's most likely going to be a "realistic" difficulty similar to Alien Isolation where the slightest mistake brings it running.
@@Dr_Decaf 8:16 you can walk right next to one and they barely react. it's literally a "must've been the wind" situation. i'm not saying it should kill you right away just that you'd at least have to sneak or something when there's a death angel a few meters away from you. that or they shouldn't include the thing hearing a rat running across the floor like that.

I'm guessing that, as long as the game doesn't have a health system and therefore a difficulty switch doesn"t make it easier or harder to die due to health loss, the difficulty will only make it so that the death angels can pick up sounds more frequently and more accurately the highier the difficulty, so what might be recommended from the get go is that people cut off ambient music and only allow in game sounds ( and music if that is possible, but since the music setting almost always applies to all music in the game I highly doubt that ) so that the atmosphere is a lot more paranoia inducing, and also play on the highest difficulty to make the setting more realistic and thrilling. Also, they got to make the game a lot less forgiving with sound generation, that gal took a breath with her inhalor right in front of the death angel and it didn't do anything about it.

i hope they add that the footsteps are too loud and monsters will hear you. So you will crouch all the time kinda like in isolation, makes the game better imo
Already seems like we can abuse vents since they cant fit in there. Its not like in alien where if you made a sound in a vent the alien would zero in on your location immediately
They still can slash through the vent or destroy it ripping the person inside the vent to shreds. Don't forgtet that the aliens claws are strong enough to cut through metal like it's nothing and they can also climb on walls.
would be better if they added the mic features where you have be quiet, a lot of games are adding that now
Listen, I know the footsteps and the sounds are too loud,
But making a game that requires 0 sound would be extremely difficult and hard.
So i’m trying to some respect to the dev’s for trying the best they can do.
Can we win quickly when we make no sound at all?
Bro is definitely not wearing sneakers. Out here walking in Tim’s.
the main character would have died 100 times already because he makes sounds that the monster in the movie hears perfectly
A game based upon the movie franchise
Bruhh if Michael myers was in this world he'll have a ball cause he's silent lol
Yea, he makes NO noise whatsoever. You wouldn’t know he’s there until it’s too late
Finally, my asthma can get me killed like my doctor always warned me when I was a kid.
Reminds me of alien isolation
I hope we get a creative mode so we can make this game go on forever
I definitely believe in those deaf angels
Hopefully, IGN doesn't give this game a 5 because the momsters' AI is too smart. If you know, you know.
Can’t wait for the monsters to get ported to gmod one day
It needs to add the mechanic of throwing stuff to distract the aliens.
already added. plus ambient noise which masks ur own noise
With other horor games and movies the main characters making a noise while the monster is close to them gives mé chills but with a quite place it gives me masíve chills and shiwers
В фильме люди ходят босиком и сыпят песок за собой, а тут чел... ТОП ТОП ТОП!!!
