    This reminds me of the Brawler 64 controller. It's funny watching the loading distance of objects in sonic adventure 2

    Nice all around for the work horse system of wonderful gaming. I had an Asian DC I got in April 1999 for cheap from a friend who worked at EB. Remember when you could buy import games from EB....ahh the memories!!!

    It´s amazing that some, gaming companies still release accesories and even games for retro consoles.
    Speaking of Sega and Dreamcast, have you seen the announcement of returning Sega games like:
    Crazy Taxi
    Streets of Rage
    Jet Set Radio and Golden Axe ???

      I did see that announcement by SEGA, and I'm looking forward to see what they come up with for these new games.

    I'm glad they stuck with hall effect on the thumbstick like the original DC controller uses. It would have been a downgrade if they used potentiometers.
    I am not sure if the use hall effect for the triggers like the original DC controller did tho.

    Hey John, I got 2 of these the other days and I’m having issues with the analog stick in a few games. If you have gigawing try playing that. I found that ship movement is very jerky and erratic with the analog stick but works fine with the dpad. Works perfectly with og wired controllers. I’ve been in talks with their customer service and so far they have no answer for me.

      Hmm...that's unfortunately. See if they can send you a replacement. Sorry to hear about your issues with it.

    I'd have bought some of these had it at least had a built in screen so you could at least still see the display on the pad with out having any memory cards in it.

    I have one of these controllers and I love them but the trigger buttons are junk and fall apart too easily

  • @krillen64

    They need a version of the controller with the VMU port in the controller. What if you want to play a game where need to see what is on the VMU screen, you wouldn't easily be able to. So it would make some games harder to play if not unablayable for that reason alone.

    The n64 one is great but the buttons are to flat dont know what you pressing sometimes. Whats the point of the shoulder pads on this one though? Can you map something on them?

    • @madmax2069

      Never had that issue, I always knew what button i pressed as I remembered their location on the controller.

  • @darkhierophant4914

    Eh, this was a missed opportunity to have a handheld controller for the DC to have a three button setup instead of triggers on the sides.

    • @superroboted

      The Ascii pad was truly the best, but it lacked an analog controller so you would have to always go back to a standard DC controller.

    • @madmax2069

      The triggers on the DC controller are analog tho. replacing the triggers as buttons would be useless in a few games.

    I frickin' hate 3th and 4th party controllers, absolutely nothing beats a first party controller, but Retro Fighters changed my mind, I actually like them, put others to shame.

    It's useless if you cannot see your VMU on your controller in my opinion. Having it on the dongle makes the VMU useless.

    • @madmax2069

      In many games for DC the VMU is useless anyways.

      @@laststopformadness many DC game only display the game logo on the VMU screen when playing a game, nothing more, so that makes the VMU pretty much useless for anything other than a glorified memory card. I'm not saying there aren't games on DC that use the VMU to it's full potential, I'm talking about the games that don't.
