  • When it comes to the team at Retro Fighters, they have had a number of amazing controllers released over the years. The Brawler 64, the Jab Pad, the Defender, The Duelist, and more. For me, however, the one controller that helped me enjoy a system the most was the StrikerDC. See, I hated the stock Dreamcast controller which I know many people cringe when they hear, but it's true. The StrikerDC to me made the Dreamcast playable for the first time. Now it is time for Dreamcast Fans to REJOICE as Retro Fighters has taken the lid off things with their new WIRELESS StrikerDC!

I just realized that they have a sale on the original wired version, and an additional discount using your link.

It's a lot better than the wired version in my experience. They improved the triggers, I've had no problems. It feels like an Xbox One controller. The original wired version I had one of the triggers just pop out and break but Retro Fighters is such a cool company they'll replace it without much of a fight so yeah, not much risk in giving this one a try. It's currently how I play my dreamcast along with the DC Digital modded system I use.

I loved the duke and the stock dc controller but that’s when both hands worked wireless always beats wired

The dc is a console way way ahead of its time for sure. A lot of the common bells and whistles found on today's consoles can trace back to the dreamcast. In fact the dc controller have hall effect as well.
That said, i like this revision overall. I'm not sure how i feel about the floating vmu since there are a few games that used the vmu as part of the experience.

That is a sleek controller! I don't mind the base DC controller, but the StrikerDC in either format looks fantastic!

The cord being long is Not the bad thing if you don't like having a cord since if you prefer having a cord you want a nice long one, unlike the NES Mini that had annoyingly way too short cords on it's controllers.
Why no VMU Slot in the controller? This controller would not work with Seaman because it needs 2 VMU Slots, one for the VMU and one for the Mic.

I have the Retro Fighters wired Dreamcast controller. Love it. Thinking seriously about preordering this wireless version, but honestly the wired doesn't bother me so much. And you are correct. The original Dreamcast controller is a pretty terrible fit in my hands.

I hate the d pad on the stock dreamcast controller especially for fighting games but it isn’t the worst controller to use 😅

There was a black colored Arcade Style controller that was better, back in the day. It arrived late in it’s life cycle though.

Horrible design. Removing the VMU ruins this controller. It’s its soul! They should redo all!

The big problem with the StrikerDC for me, it's very difficult to pull off a crazy dash in Crazy Taxi. With the original controller I can do it every single time but with the StrikerDC it will maybe do it twice out of ten tries. There's something not quite right with the StrikerDC.

    • @RoXolid

Not sure, I'd say reach out to Robert at Retro Fighters. I don't have Crazy Taxi so I don't have a way to test/verify
