Personally PS4 legacy edition is my favorite, being able to play in ps VR with the older graphics is great, very nostalgic and I grew up on the PS3 version, the render distance on legacy is further, superflat is better, and I like the smaller world sizes, gives a feeling of being able to full a world and it's easier to see your progress
Truthfully, I didn’t grow up playing the PlayStation versions but I have played them with my brother that owned a ps3 and ps4 and now has ps5 I think they are great but same as xbox! I’ve never tried vr for Minecraft tho and I need to! It sounds so cool👍🏻
there is no way the nintendo switch version is the best in the modern day, after the transition to bedrock, the game lags significantly in the menu and the cool exclusive features from the old legacy console version have been removed and replaced with the commercialized microsoft bedrock version. id much rather have the chance to play smoothly with only my switch friends than laggily play it with my microsoft friends (especially when you realize it's impossible to play any server except for the 5 or so featured servers without going into settings), not to mention microsoft integration is horribly slow and you need a phone or computer to go online every time. not to mention the standard cross-platform bedrock bs (the slow cross-platform compatibility, floating-point worlds breaking farther out and falling through the world, all mods being replaced with add-ons and microtransactions) as it was in 2018, minecraft for switch can be considered for actually being the best version, having most of the things you said minus mods and cross-platform, however for some ungodly reason there's no way to downgrade back to legacy console version, and as time goes on and more updates are added and fps / tps continue to fall, by 2027 the games going to be swiftly discontinued and left in its horrible current state.

I've played bedrock for years on the switch and can safely say, it's one of the worst versions of minecraft I've ever played. I'm just happy to still own the real minecraft nintendo switch version and not this bedrock garbage.
Well the switch edition is pretty solid! But then again my phone can do all the switch can when it comes to minecraft. Also, i have a modded switch oled and overclocking it definetly made it feel even better since its at a locked 60fps with tinyyy lagspikes very rarely but thats to be expected. You can "dock" most modern phones, connect controlers to it (with a usb hub some wired controlers also work out the box!)
In my opinion the switch version of minecraft is just a worse portable version of bedrock, tbh. It's still a perfectly fine way to play minecraft but you can get a better experience on a decent modern phone or a handheld like an ayn odin. The switch version also has some horrible chunk pop-in.
I love the Minecraft on the switch because I can take it everywhere with me where the pc version I can only play it at home unless I take the rug ally with me and I don’t do it bcs the battery dies too fast
The biggest downside is the world saves arent as safe and could get lost on switch. when i play bedrock on pc i backup my worlds very often and online so i can redownload them on any device even my phone too play the same world on that

BIG DISCLAIMER! I think I only mentioned pocket addition/ on the phone once it’s a good version just I feel like the problems the switch has is heighten on the phone but it’s still great for on the go If we are talking mods of course the pc version is the best because the possibilities are endless especially when adding 1000s of mods to that pool! But I’m just talking bedrock version and what’s the best way to play that! The console/ pc / vr are very strong and definitely way faster to play on so graphic wise yes definitely a better experience I think the switch just over all hits a lot of the main points you want in Minecraft and can be played so many different ways to keep it fresh! Also on the go is perfect but that’s the thing we all have our own experience and opinions on Minecraft which in its self is amazing cause that’s how generational Minecraft is Also the main reason of this video is to bring light to Minecraft on the switch I believe it’s heavily underrated I don’t know if it’s the best way to play it that’s up to you all to decide! Pc from 20 years wont run minecraft NEARLY as good !!!! 10 year old mudrange laptop is a good comparison to the switch when it comes to minecraft performance! Dont think no 2004 pc is gonna run modern minecraft very well
