I did it for a company at new car dealerships in 1985 .. part time job after high school .. and it was a big profit deal back then too.. $50 undercoating and paint protection charged to the dealership and then they charge $1000 .. so $950 profit !!! When I saw people looking at the new cars , I told them to negoiate the price on the add on .. which was required on all new cars and many new car dealerships my company was doing business with.

The small Dodge dealer in my town has been selling all of their Challengers and Chargers for at least $9K below MSRP. No BS. The cars generally sell in a day or two.
I went to my local dodge dealership this past weekend seeing they had six Challenger T/A's with the 6 speeds and the price on line was 42k marked down from the MSRP of 57k, once there I wanted to check out the MDH on the drivers door to see how old the car was, it was manufactured in October of 23, and as I reached to pull the hold release I noticed that it had 503miles on it which on line it said 18. Thats a fair dealer. Last month I needed a CCV filter for my 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins truck. I like to support the dealer I bought it from. Now originally I paid $147 for it at that dealer 3 years ago. But last month when I went there to get they tried to charge me $287. Understand this filter is made by Cummins for Mopar. I left the dealer told them to stick it up they asses. Went to my Cummins dealer near me and got it the same exact part for $139. None of the aftermarket CCV filters are good enough for my 6.7 Cummins you can see the filter media isn't the same quality or it's casing so I'll stick to OEM. So they are also price gouging with parts too now. Don't pay it people be wise.
My local Ram dealer wanted over $300 for a thermostat for a 6.7 Cummins. Screw that! Went to Cummins and got the exact same one for $59 tax included. Damn I despise dealers😡
I can't believe they were actually selling those Scat Packs for those ridiculous markups?? Dang! 😂😂 Also, why not sell at an honest price and get people to come back and not trying to azz rape them being greedy bastereds; so when he said they are just trying to make money is what is wrong with society today in my opinion.
Just wondering, do you work for free? I think most of these dealers are scummy so don't get me wrong but no one forced people to pay that money. $40K markup and I walked out...laughing all the way.
@hunghuge7262 There's nothing wrong with being greedy? Yep, that reasoning is why we as a society are messed up today. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins in the Bible.
I like HB CDJR. Bought a Cherokee Trailhawk from them back in 2015. Was a pretty smooth experience, no issues. These guys always had best advertised deals around. I'd buy there again, I'd just ignore the BS and I'm also always willing to walk if I don't get the deal as advertised. We're in a buyers' market now and that will continue and get even better.
The whole purpose of this video is why I'm glad I've been learning about the truth of lending act and being told your supposed to ask about this when you first walk into a dealership
Seen a video yesterday that there will be a new law for the dealerships that they cant advertise a price and u come in and they switch the price on you. U can report them and they will get a fine. I think this comes in effect in June.
I went with my nephew to get his R/Tcharger from this dealer, they were cool, had heavy discounts but were very upfront about the add ons that is how they make money, we negotiated the price of those down and he bought it, still price was around 6K less than other 2 dealers we went

A couple of years ago, we went to buy a vehicle. It had a bunch worthless add-ons. I told the sales person if they couldn't take those off, there was no point in going any further. He said he could ask his boss but he didn't think they would. I said go ahead and ask anyway. They took all of them off.
I got completely burned by Huntington Beach CJDR a few months ago by Elijah himself. Big "discount" that evaporated the second you appeared and the sales manager got involved. Good cop bad cop. Add-ons were not optional. Drove 2 hours just to get mad, feel misled, and drive home after depressed eating a Charlie's Gyro down on the strip.
My last Dodge came from H.B.Dodge in 2016, but I bought it thru Riverside Dodge. I shopped for a couple of months. It was the last day of the month & I went to Riverside & they didn’t have the Scat Pack I wanted ( it had everything except the upgraded stereo) so I was leaving & of course they run out & say that they might be able to sell me one from H.B. , which I had bargained on & didn’t get my price. Well, they got it from H.B. & I bought it for $39,900. A great deal then was about $45,000. Riverside said they were actually losing $ but they would make their monthly bonus selling that car. I doubt that was true but who knows. I’m looking at it in my driveway now !😀
If they bring back hemi, it will be limited special editions with even higher markups because they are rare. Been hearing its the last of the v8s, and manual driving cars for 10+ years lol
It's rare to get lucky and pay a price for a vehicle, and it retain It's value. I managed to do that only once with a 2005 Daytona edition RAM 1500 (2door/2wd) that I still own. I bought it used in 2007 with 24k miles on it for $13k. The price on it bottomed out at around $10k about 10 to 12 years ago. Now it is worth as much or more than I originally paid for it. That being said, I have sank enough money into it, keeping it maintained that I would still be in the hole if I sold it now. So I just keep it and keep enjoying it.
I’ve been there in March 2024 shopping for Challenger - and spoke with this exact Elijah guy. He was nice but he is nobody there. I went to a Nissan dealership and they advertised a Nissan frontier brand new for 36,000 SV with a bunch of options. PD's are switching to Ford Explorers. Bunch of widebodies still here in Vegas. Yes that's how car buying has been, but it's time has passed. Car buying should be like buying ANYTHING else. You want a new toaster, you go to Target, pay the price that's on the sticker and there's NO fees. That's how car buying should be. EVERYONE pays the same price.
Still doesn't matter. There all still over priced! And the interest is sky high. Hellcats need to be around 70 grand period not 100k. I am so thankful I got mine in 2018 for 67 grand and 1.5% interest. And a payment of $577. That's all they should be going for. Add on's mark up's enough already. Nothing they have is a good deal.
So what’s the realistic additional fees one could expect . I haven’t bought a car in a while and may be soon . I also am wondering if selling it to Carmax is better than trying to trade in or just about the same.
try 5 different places and see who pays the most......bought and sold quite a few recently.....the more research and work you put in the better the outcome will be
I left there a couple of months ago because they wanted 8k in fees or no sale. They will just wait for someone to pay the fees. I was a repeat customer as well..... Ended up buying 3 vehicles at LAX Dodge..... Dino sold me. True story bro....
The salesman will tell you anything you want to hear. Not until you actually write the deal up , are ready to purchase and see the add ons put on it, that's where where the manager markups begin. Be very careful dealing with this particular deanship. They did not take you serious to buy anything Dodge showing up in a Lambo.
Regarding the Hemi going away, think back to when Chrysler took over from AMC. Chrysler announced they would be cancelling the Jeep CJ-7. Jeep diehards went crazy about it. They rushed to buy the last of the CJs on dealer lots. Then Chrysler announced the new Jeep Wrangler YJ. It may be a rerun of this old tactic.
It’s not coming back. Emission standards are why they’re going away. The entire car industry are using smaller engines but Stellantis used the HEMI across all their entire lineup so it drug their company average down.
@@DeadAir21 I get that it's a CAFE standards thing, but that is a fleet average. When they switch other platforms to smaller displacement turbos and the fleet average goes up, I think they may try a return.

Great video bro, 😎 keep up the good work, yeah I use to go to HB Dodge all the time, and supposedly some police departments are partnering with Tesla they will be testing that out now especially in Orange County you will see Tesla Police vehicles. 🚗
But great video HB Dodge got tons of cars if you know how to talk you can get them cars way under MSRP, just have to know what to say & asking the right questions.
God Bless 😇
Bait & switch . Then they wonder why nobody wants to buy a new vehicle now .
@@richardweyland116
You can make money without being greedy.
@@markurbancowboy there’s nothing wrong with being greedy, it’s you supporting them or not that’s all. no need to buy anything from greedy people
@hunghuge7262
There's nothing wrong with being greedy? Yep, that reasoning is why we as a society are messed up today. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins in the Bible.
Great job, great interview. 👍
Your videos just keep getting better and that 1 was really fun, I definitely enjoyed it. Thanks for that.
A lot of states are turning to the new 2024 Mustang GT for their state troopers
These are your most interesting videos.
Yeah been rocking with you for a while now! Good vid!
Just went got my grandma a brand new 2023 charger 3 days ago, nothing fancy just a SXT it is my grandma after all lol. But i did get her one with all the options, heated/cooled seats, sunroof, the big radio, guy even threw in snow tires (we live in Montana), tinted windows and the black rims. We even got it in the lime green. Out the door everything said and done i paid just over $26k. There are some real good deals/desperate dealers out there right now just gotta find them
I love it. Because the cars are by the beach, they need paint protection otherwise the paint will corrode. LMAO.
LMAO
That was the biggest bunch of bullshit I’ve heard.
That is true. Cars corrode quickly by the beach, due to salt in the air.
Yes it's true but a $ 250 dollar exterior detail will do just as well..I have a beach house and wax yearly no problem.
A couple of years ago, we went to buy a vehicle. It had a bunch worthless add-ons. I told the sales person if they couldn't take those off, there was no point in going any further. He said he could ask his boss but he didn't think they would. I said go ahead and ask anyway. They took all of them off.
Love the interaction....
Going to taser movie cut, I choked on my food. Hahahhaha. Thx for the video! Always good to see
I got completely burned by Huntington Beach CJDR a few months ago by Elijah himself. Big "discount" that evaporated the second you appeared and the sales manager got involved. Good cop bad cop. Add-ons were not optional. Drove 2 hours just to get mad, feel misled, and drive home after depressed eating a Charlie's Gyro down on the strip.
There should be way more videos like this 100%. And nice lambo dang man
My last Dodge came from H.B.Dodge in 2016, but I bought it thru Riverside Dodge.
I’m looking at it in my driveway now !😀
I tried to buy a Ram 2500 there that was advertised for a good price. And when I got there, it was completely different and they wouldn't budge.
If they bring back hemi, it will be limited special editions with even higher markups because they are rare. Been hearing its the last of the v8s, and manual driving cars for 10+ years lol
"Confront" = converse. Not a lot of confrontation going on in this video.
I think they politely cut you off at the door OC.😇They never really did let you go inside 🤔🎭 lol
I’ve been there in March 2024 shopping for Challenger - and spoke with this exact Elijah guy. He was nice but he is nobody there. When it comes to numbers he has no power, you talk to his extremely rude Persian boss - and yes you must buy aftermarket crap for $3,5k. I walked away after first two minutes with him.
Police department's are now getting into the Mustangs
Maybe you should revisit Orange Coast and see if your promotion of their D170 markup was helpful or not….
Thanks again for another great video. Makes me want to trade in my 2021 scatpack for a new 2023.
Elijah seemed pretty cool
Ive been kicked out of several dealership from Houston to California. I just laugh and walk out
And I got asked to leave a.dodge dealership today by some idiot in a pink shirt post that video soon .
I cant even with this salesmen. I hope people just stop buying.
remember back in 98-2002 when the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Ws6 Ram Air Hood was too Gaudy?? lol
Brad the new Chevy that's going to be the new cop car is the new 2025 Impala
Well, I need to look into that, that could be cool!
Interesting
The Lambo would scream "cash buyer" if I sold cars.
Well here in Gatineau Quebec Canada they dont deal with negotiation, they tell you do you want it or net cause its that or the next person will buy it, next ...
HAHAH I dealt with the same salesmen Elijah hey came back and told me “sorry we can’t come to a deal” once they realized I was trying to get a better deal
I’m glad you made this video! I’m omw to show them this video
Come out to Phoenix and help me once im ready to buy the ZR2 Colorado 😁
If they pop out a 7.0L supercharged that’d be awesome
Doin the Lords work out there in the real world!
In Vegas when we lived there, my wife and I would drive into a dealership and wait for the vultures to come out. We would laugh. They think we have never purchased a new car in our life. I know they need to make money but like you, do not lie to me.
Do not pay for the add ons because once you drive it off the lot you lost 10 percent of the value of the car
I bought from HB once and vowed to never ever purchase there again. I now go to Orange Coast CDJR or Glen E Thomas if I am in the market.
121 K for a swinger scat pack is crazy 🤦🏽♂️
no fr anything over 50k for a scat is insane
I went to a Nissan dealership and they advertised a Nissan frontier brand new for 36,000 SV with a bunch of options. It was stickered for 43,000 went up there and they were trying to charge me as much as the sticker with all the add-ons and stuff I said, I think I’ll go to Carmax where they don’t charge all this crap.
Elijah was a cool dude!
i had gone to the orange coast website i saw a scat pack that was under regular price
You didn’t even get to talk to the manager?
yeah bro, lol shady mo fos just a few years ago.......tried to deal with them a few times and was the BS fees were horrible, at least they were upfront on the phone so I never had to go in and waste time...too bad as I purchased a boatload of trucks last few years
read the reviews as well, ...
Thanks Braad!
Confronting a car dealership about their ad and sales process deception is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline, complete waste of time.
They say dodges are collector items that why prices are so high, but when I was gonna trade my scatpack 392 charger for a hellcat charger jailbreak the low ball the hell of ur trade, my scat is mint no winters and low kms I was willing to give them what they were asking for there hellcat, but my deal breaker was the big low ball on my scat , I’ll just keep it
PD's are switching to Ford Explorers.
So you put 20k as a down payment?
A payment? oof
How could ANY Dodge product be a collector's item
"People love these things!"....Do they, though? As dealers have 700 days of inventory?
People love them for a normal price.
The tooling is probably gone already for the Hemi.
$5k for window tint wtf? I just got my suv tinted full ceramic for $400
I'm getting my challenger side windows tinted soon for $120
So what’s the realistic additional fees one could expect . I haven’t bought a car in a while and may be soon .
I also am wondering if selling it to Carmax is better than trying to trade in or just about the same.
Tax ,title and license ideally.i will give them a break on up to 600 for dealer fee if I get a fair deal.they have to keep the lights on.
try 5 different places and see who pays the most......bought and sold quite a few recently.....the more research and work you put in the better the outcome will be
Ive never paid for add ons and i never will.
Win - Win!
Can you go through credit union and get them to honor the price?
I know the dealership you’re referring about in Norco. It was Aaron Chrysler Jeep Ram Dodge. Yeah they’re pretty shady, pretty much that whole stretch of dealerships in Norco are. I’ve dealt with them 4 of them and Aaron and the Ford across the street are Douchebags. Both lost my business on a Challenger and Raptor.
Last time you visited a dealership you said you had no problem them charging whatever they want
Probably because you had them on video
Talking about wide body..... Not a thing. Those are called fender flares. Wide body would include an actual rear quarter panel that sticks out further and wide fenders up front.
Corvette including zr1 barely hold the value. Unless it under 100 produced. Why would they think a demon would be 5x the price.
