not gonna lie, that fum thing actually looked like a good product. i never smoked cigarettes, but i did smoke something else every day for over 10 years and found quitting really, really hard. i switched to a vape which was 100% better than smoking, still not ideal but so much of smoking is the physical habit of having something to pick up like that. i transitioned off the vape too eventually but i wish i had a product like that fum thing instead of the vape i could have used. having something like that to replace the physical action of smoking is such a game changer, and people who smoke should rly be trying to quit it. anyone out there who still smokes i really think they should consider trying that thing out.
@necalovescake thanks for that, as someone that doesn't smoke and has never smoked y was hesitant as first to promote such product but after a bit of investigation I actually think this is a FANTASTIC product that I'm happy to promote. Thank you very much for that comment, it means more to me than you would imagine.
I like that Vallejo decided to make its own sub-range of Xpress Color to make sure that they all behave the same in each range. That has always been an issue for me with Contrast, and Speedpaints to some extent, that they don't really behave the same throughout the range. Some can be great and easy to use there are also some really thick and difficult to use paints while some are more like a wash. This is very user friendly by Vallejo.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Just curious if you happen to know if the long range plans are to further expand the Xpress Color and/or expand the Intense range?
@cjschmeeds no, 60 colours is as big as the range will ever be. It's a hard limit due to rack space for the display and because we don't think any more are needed to be honest

Man I have been anxiously awaiting these. I can't wait to pick up the range. Citadel has some colours I will always buy, but Vallejo nailing the consistency between all their colours is a huge needle mover for me, and I much prefer a matte finish, so Vallejo wins there as well. Wow! I'm amazed by those. With this Xpress range expansion, Vallejo got rid of the only weakness this range had with it's first wave of release: The lack of colors compared to the Contrast range. Now the Xpress is 59 Colors (60 with the Medium), against 61 Contrast colors for Citadel (62 with Contrast medium). Games Workshop now have something to worry about. @@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I am getting seraph red, dreadnough yellow, and hospitaler black as soon as they are available in the US. Or maybe when I go back to Spain on Christmas. But I will get others as needed, because there are great colours here.
I must admit that a few months ago I asked in a comment under your video about the color of the feldgrau and you replied that Vallejo would have that color. I am positively surprised that this color was really created by Vallejo. You really know what you're talking about and it's obvious that you work with them on xpress colors. In the age of today's Internet, this is a really sought-after phenomenon. Kind regards.
I bought the first Vallejo paint around 2004, I immediately knew that these were paints with a wide range and excellent pigments. I have never been disappointed. When I painted some historical models in recent years, of course, like everyone else, I succumbed to the charms of contrast paints. Unfortunately, the lack of appropriate colors from the "historical" palette meant that I combined my own versions anyway, inks and the Vallejo line of transparent paints helped me a lot in making my own versions of contrast paints. But unfortunately, sometimes the homemade blends weren't as consistent. As soon as I heard about xpress from vallejo, I knew it would be of a high standard and I will not be disappointed. I'm talking from the perspective of an owner of over 25 colors from GW and at least as many from Army Painter. (and all possible xpress versions) I am especially pleased with the fact that Vallejo has not forgotten about players and modellers of historical models and figures. I know, I know, I sound like a paid fanboy 😂😂😂
These new colors flipped the switch for me to order some. This Dreadnought Yellow and Phoenix Orange looked great, plus that Mummy White since I use that type of color quite often and always had to mix it myself. I just whished there was an intense dark purple in there, like a "Hivefleet Leviathan in a bottle"
I will try to mix it from Legacy Blue and Seraph Red, maybe Phoenix Orange works for a muted purple. Having the base colors is already great so I see the reasoning
@@JuanHidalgoMiniaturesHave you had a chance to try Vallejos new brushes?? Or are you strictly working on the paint side of things? I’d love to see some real world reviews of them but can’t find much or anything on them
@1TS_C1C4 I have them, I like the real hair ones (forgot the name) they are a decent brush especially for the price. Are they spectacular? No. Are they good enough to do 80% of the work comfortably? Yes. Are they cheap enough that you don't give a fuck if they get destroyed? Fuck yeah It really depends on what you are looking for in a brush.

The military colors look amazing in the photos. A good area for historical players that both contrast and speedpaints miss. Do you think those will be available in their own little set?
Hello Juan 😊. Awesome video! I'm still new to mini model painting and your videos have been very helpful. Where do you get your mini models you use for the color tests? I think having something like that would be very useful to me when I way to try layering new colors. Thank so much!
Thank for the review. Particularly impressed with the bag of bones which seems a better option as a one coat than GW skeleton horde which I find too muted for single application.
Great channel. The only thing missing for this video is on the paints segment, I'd like it if you showed how the model looks once the paint dries for every color. Keep up the good work!
This may be a bit of an overkill, and maybe you have already done it somewhere, but I am in love with your organized chart of applied colours in the drive photos. Would it be possible to have them all combined with the old xpress colours, to create a "chart of purchase"? It is hard to know what colour you want to purchase out of the bottle or square image alone, because when applied they look very different.
There's certainly some interesting paints there! Thanks for the photos and especially the combined one. (: Fingers crossed that these will be more easily available then the original ones where.
Nice video! The only thing I think was lacking, is that you didn't show the colors being fully dried. I remember in your previous Xpress color range video that you did show that, and it was a handy reference.
Looking at wave 1 vs. wave 2: 1. What is the difference between Martian orange and chameleon orange? In the video you said chameleon is a reddish orange, but looking at the charts you have made they look very similar. 2. Are the following intense colors similar in hue to some of the regular xpress, just more saturated? seraph red and velvet red legacy blue and omega blue phoenix orange and Martian orange heretic turquoise and snake green dreadnought yellow and nuclear yellow
All the colours are different hues, some differ more, some are more similar to others but they are all different. And I say that Chameleon is a yellowish orange, Martian isn't
thanks for the info! I can't wait until I can pick these up. I have been looking for the perfect Desert Yellow "shade paint" for my Battletech Eridani Light Horse Mercenary Company. This expansion has lots of good colors for that.@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures
These look great! I like how you tried to cover all bases in the second wave, it definitely feels like you have colors that can cover any use they might need just by thinning them down. The intense range is good as well definitely better to make sure they're separate from the "normal" range as someone not familiar could get a bad first impression if they grabbed one off the shelf and didn't know. I can't wait for these to arrive in my local shop so I can grab that purple for my Emperor's Children
Hey Juan, I’m planning to use Vallejo Xpress Deep purple for a candy metal effect. Would that be a good idea, considering they dry really matte? I’m not sure whether putting a thin layer of the paint over a metallic paint would have the effect I want
Thank you for the demo video - I do wonder if you could talk about the difference in using the Vallejo XPress colours to actually paint a Space Marine over the Contrast paints?
Lovely video Juan. I had avoiding buying any of these Vallejo Xpress line...but now I'm not sure I can as they look so smooth with such a clean finish. What are the drying times like? Similar to GW Contrast or a touch slower?
Habia ganas de que llegara este video… he echado de menos ver como quedan una vez secas y tener una imagen de toda la gama, como hiciste en el video anterior… pero hay colores que se vendrán a casa para ampliar la gama, eso seguro
Was a set of these paints sent to Stahly? I look forward to his review and swatches. I bet the new colors will bump his ratings for vallejo color xpress up to a 9.5+
Love the colors, but white scar has done its usual 'very slightly blobby even when great' effect on your prime, so the flat regions in your test packs look more mottled and dark than usual. Love that mummy flesh and fairy skin though, will definitely be grabbing those when I see them

So for Black Templar use Lotus Black like your prior video or hold out for Hospitaller Black ? Thanks JH
Depends, for mi method, Black Lotus, for a one coat solution, Hospitallier
Very nice, some great colours there.
Thanks
The military colors look amazing in the photos. A good area for historical players that both contrast and speedpaints miss. Do you think those will be available in their own little set?
I don't know, I surely hope they will be available in a set of 8, them being 8 is intentional for that very purpose but you never know
Hello Juan 😊.
Oh yeah, it's the best bone contrast paint in the market IMO.
Que bueno la cant de colores que agregaron!! a esperarlos! te hago una pregunta que no recuerdo si vi, existe algun medium o diluyente?
Claro, en los 24 colores iniciales
These look fantastic cant wait to get my hands on the new ones
Thanks
A selection of amazing hues and intense tones :)
Thanks
Great channel. The only thing missing for this video is on the paints segment, I'd like it if you showed how the model looks once the paint dries for every color. Keep up the good work!
It's all in the folder linked in the description. But I should have included the images in the video as well I agree
I thought about doing that, but I was too lazy. Follow me on social media because I will probably do it in the near future
Pre-ordered the OG Xpress set and could not be happier with them. I still use the odd GW contrast, but not for long. Any time frame on these ones?
All I know is October
Absolutely love the military colours
Thanks
There's certainly some interesting paints there!
Thanks for the photos and especially the combined one. (:
Fingers crossed that these will be more easily available then the original ones where.
Fingers crossed
Nice video! The only thing I think was lacking, is that you didn't show the colors being fully dried. I remember in your previous Xpress color range video that you did show that, and it was a handy reference.
You have all the colours in the link in the description in high resolution photos
Oh thanks, didn't realize that.Very informative. :) @@JuanHidalgoMiniatures
@Gridash happy to help!!
Looking at wave 1 vs. wave 2:
1. What is the difference between Martian orange and chameleon orange? In the video you said chameleon is a reddish orange, but looking at the charts you have made they look very similar.
2. Are the following intense colors similar in hue to some of the regular xpress, just more saturated?
seraph red and velvet red
legacy blue and omega blue
phoenix orange and Martian orange
heretic turquoise and snake green
dreadnought yellow and nuclear yellow
All the colours are different hues, some differ more, some are more similar to others but they are all different.
And I say that Chameleon is a yellowish orange, Martian isn't
thanks for the info! I can't wait until I can pick these up. I have been looking for the perfect Desert Yellow "shade paint" for my Battletech Eridani Light Horse Mercenary Company. This expansion has lots of good colors for that.@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures
Luvin the xpress range, after following your guide for tyranids and cant wait to try out some of the new ones , great vid :)
Thanks
Wow! Amazing (and very necessary) additions. Great video, Juan! 🙌 Preorder done 😅
YEAH
These look great! I like how you tried to cover all bases in the second wave, it definitely feels like you have colors that can cover any use they might need just by thinning them down. The intense range is good as well definitely better to make sure they're separate from the "normal" range as someone not familiar could get a bad first impression if they grabbed one off the shelf and didn't know.
I can't wait for these to arrive in my local shop so I can grab that purple for my Emperor's Children
That's all we wanted, make sure all the possibilities are covered so the range is complete and done
I might do some videos about that in the near future
Muchas gracias, tío. el mejor review de la linea, proximamente a comprarla.
Un placer!
Lovely video Juan. I had avoiding buying any of these Vallejo Xpress line...but now I'm not sure I can as they look so smooth with such a clean finish. What are the drying times like? Similar to GW Contrast or a touch slower?
A fair bit slower
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Which is something I really enjoy about them.
It's the best feature, they feather out SO WELL because of that property that you can make effortless transitions like a dream
Ya estan en las tiendas? Han sacado buen surtido
A lo largo de Octubre llegarán
Thank you for the video, when it will be available and by any chance it will be bundled at amazon and not sold separately? 😅
October and no idea, ask Vallejo
Habia ganas de que llegara este video… he echado de menos ver como quedan una vez secas y tener una imagen de toda la gama, como hiciste en el video anterior… pero hay colores que se vendrán a casa para ampliar la gama, eso seguro
Gracias guapo 😘
"Nothing fantasy related"...
"Something for like a halfling"
That gave me a chuckle xD
Lol, yeah I did that
Was a set of these paints sent to Stahly? I look forward to his review and swatches. I bet the new colors will bump his ratings for vallejo color xpress up to a 9.5+
Yes, he is going to get a set
Love the colors, but white scar has done its usual 'very slightly blobby even when great' effect on your prime, so the flat regions in your test packs look more mottled and dark than usual.
Love that mummy flesh and fairy skin though, will definitely be grabbing those when I see them
That's white primer for you
