Stunning photography of a truly awesome spectacle; the night shots were particularly mesmeric, the whole effect enhanced by the judicious use of appropriate music. Ten out of ten!
Colin Gantiglew Thanks for appreciating the effort to shoot and edit this video. The place is so unreal, and somewhat harder to reach than most of the other places I have visited. Since comes my double excitement to share it on YT :) Best regards :)
Very good point :) The settings are like in a theater, and when we arrived, all of us (some 20-30 people) did stand around the lake for several hours, completely mesmerized
Hi Milosh, a rough go getting there but certainly worth it!! It's a little eerie but I do see the beauty! I will get to the palaces on next visit. Caio!!
the glow in the camera is Very strong whitch is derstroying a lot of detail of the lava But it also gives it that old school feeling that there is more footage somewhere because there were wery few lava videos at that time Including some of the longest 80%-100% active lava footage videos ever made (the longest one was sadly deleted)
Yeah, my older camera, HD, not bad but also not very good, I wish I repeat this trip to film it in 4K, but not easy. Did you watch my Nyarogongo video, one of the other lava lakes. In 4K but it was so mush further away, I had to zoom
Amazing Places on Our Planet probably tectonic movement of earth surface or two plate of surface sliding one ove the other.i guess when I take ethiopian geography.I read this????
Aniley abbay We were pretty much on the edge (or at least as close as you dare to go close to the edge). The lava lake was below, probably some 20-30 meters away. Some of the small eruptions would throw some lava up, and people would step back on the side of these eruptions as some small pieces of the lava could reach the edge.

.Many thanks
Thank you, Roberto!
what a beauty! thanks
+pablofre Welcome, glad you enjoy Ethiopia :)
Amazing😍
the lake has risen since I was last here!
Looks like it is changing over the years, sometimes it goes up much than the level seen in the video and second crater forms up
How fast does it take the lava to erode through the ground like that? I can see bits of it melting from underneath in the cave-like area.
The early Earth must have looked like this but with lava lakes so big they're more like seas!

God is great 🙏
😱😱😱😱🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Does this ferocious lake make much sound?
yes, some rumbling and lava splashing, especially during the small eruptions seen in the video
Dichosos los humanos, que tienen el privilegio de ver el poder transformador del Todo 👌🙌
M milosh merci beaucoup pour me Faire regard tous le beaute de Dieu sara
I want to see the raining part can you imagine what will happen when it rain there🤔
what keeps the lake doing this ?
Tough question to answer, I do not know :( It is moving all the time, sometimes calming down, sometimes erupting, quite amazing!

So exciting place. And amazing 👍

This circle is interesting
The landscape surrounding Erta Ale, looks as though it was designed by H.R Giger. Anyone else see it in the undulating amorphous nature of the rock?
+sirjaunty1 Good point :) yes, there is resemblance :)
👍👍👍
Здравствуйте! Я из России. Вы очень красиво снимаете. А там у источника извержения вулкана горячо? Земля горячая?
You feel the heat on your face, as the lava lake is very close, the ground is not hot
Excellent videos. Did you take any precautions with your camera and equipment for the Danakil trip? I am afraid everything is going to melt when I go!
Jeff Brandtjen No need to worry too much, there were photographers there (as you can expect) with quite expensive equipment :)
Very liquid lava 🌋
Miniature plate tectonics.
lava and volcanoes replenishes the earth so i dont think lava is the devil getting out i think its the lava that holds him in
Vše je jednou po prvé. Pohled na vařící, pulsujíí a bublající lávu je ohromný.
I think it’s the actual Mordor 🙄🤔
the real door to hell they said the other video that the Russians lit gas on fire but this one has lave
Sufani alha
Erta Ale crater is small.
Yes, relatively small but you cannot get that close on the other lava lakes, you can see my video about Nyarogongo as well
Looks like an alien Planet
I need to dive back in. Or perhaps Iv just come back out into hell on a hell phone.
terrible scene thank you
Yes, was quite scare and attractive at the same time
Amazing Places on our Planet ok you are welcome thank you
