Hasbro popped tf off with this figure, an articulated, armored and robe wearing/tunic wearing figure... it's putting some Black Series to shame.
Phenomenal release by Hasbro. They have put out a lot of lackluster figures in 2019 in my opinion, so I'm happy they went all out for a iconic character like Dr. Doom.

Almost a year later and I love coming back to re-watch this review. I agree with the small chest issue, so I decided I'm going to try a kitbash for Doctor Doom by using the Sentry upper torso with Stryfe biceps and the rest filled in by the Doom buck. Can't wait to see if you review the new Retro FF wave Doctor Doom.

One of the reasons I watch your channel is because you're one of the few reviewers who, when talking about chest size, is referring to male figures 90% of the time.
I don't collect Marvel Legends, but I bought the Nico Minoru figure based on your praise of it, and you've made a very compelling case for Doctor Doom as well. I was really impressed by the chainmail sculpt with the knee joints; that's surprising for a Marvel Legends.
Amazing figure, amazing review. A 9 from Anthony is pretty much the best a figure could expect. Like he's said, there are no perfect figures. The moment you find a flaw in a figure it stops being a 10. However, we have to admit Hasbro delivered spectacularly with this one, and I think we will all be happy to add this to our collection.
This is the quality that hasbro can produce when the rest of the wave is all re-used figures and parts, I can’t wait to get mine though

I actually own a 14th century harness of plate armour (cuz reenactment yo) and honestly, I think Doom's proportions are fine, it's just the placement of the belt at the natural waistline (the belly bottom) makes the torso look a lot smaller than it actually is. My own breastplate stops there as well instead of going down to the hips (where the pants waist is) and I wear my belt there to help support the weight of my breastplate. I'm actually picking this figure up not as a Marvel fan (tho I do love me some Marvel and Dr Doom) but so I can custom it into some Medieval armour with a headswap and some painting. People seem to forget this sometimes but Dr Doom's early armours look hella Medieval in style, which I definitely approve of since it almost looks like its from the period I do.
Whether this figure was crafted with the intent of being genuine towards those craving for it, or if it was a stroke of luck that it turned out this great- you choose I suppose

No, you are not going crazy. He's a sorcerer, uses magic powers & shoots lightning or energy or whatever. He very RARELY uses a firearm. They should've given him some energy effect parts, instead of the gun. Otherwise, really well done figure of the dictator. A rare feat by Hasbro, which should be the norm.
At last we have a comicbook accurate Victor von Doom. I knew I wanted this Dr Doom as soon as I saw the pictures when Hasbro announced it. Great review Anthony. 👍🏻 I agree with you - every ML figure should have this level of attention to detail and design.

Somebody at Hasbro must really love Dr. Doom. So much thought and effort went into how this figure is designed.
Huh, you and I have the same damn neck hinge issue!! Neither of mine articulate... had to go in and make a cavity for a disc hinge in the ball joint. I did. Now he’s so much better. Such a great figure despite the neck issues. I know this is the Doom I’ve been waiting for! Great review homie. Nice before I head into work.

It could be nostalgia but I absolutely love the Ultimate Alliance Dr. Doom design and this comes closer to it than any other figure I've seen

This is definitely the best from this wave, the best Dr. Doom and one of the best ML action figures, I agree with your nine. Fortunately for me they included the classic head, otherwise I would have a hard time passing on this figure like I'm having with the Grey She-Hulk but I would eventually pass on it. For $23 per figure (27 tax and all at GameStop , now) what Ant’ny says at 11:20 is TROOOOTH!
why bother paying $23 for that figure when you can get it for less either through hasbro pulse, target, or best buy for $19.99. I got mine for less than that andI wouldn't dare pay that amount for that figure at gamestop because they charge an arm and a leg and besides some of the gamestop stores are closing in my area.

I absolutely love this figure!
The sculpt, the details, the quality, everything is near perfect.
I mean that cape and tunic (is it a tunic? Whatever) looks like fabric in the pictures how good is that!
I'm a long time FF fan when John Byrne was the artist/writer and when I seen this one I knew I had to have it!
Only sad I got mine loose so no jetpack/boots blasters and no Ultimate Nulifier but I did got the hands, the spells book and the crappy pistol so that's good enough.

The neck on mine moves back and forward, I think it is on a ball peg, try heating it up.
Very nice fig for sure. The modern hood looks and is sculpted perfect.

So this is a great figure for sure, my only faults would be the stuck ankles and on some the badly aligned eyes on the heads vs the mask position. Otherwise great looking figure! Great review as always man:)

I haven’t tried this yet but, they say that you can use a hot blow hair dryer to loosen the joints a bit in case they are stuck. For any action figure that has this problem.

The figure is awesome! The only thing that gets me is that the gold chain is only painted on the front and it is green when u look at it from below. I understand the back of the chain doesn’t have to be painted, but I don’t understand why they couldn’t paint around the bottom. I feel like painting it but I don’t wanna change the original aesthetic of the figure.

Gotta say that the doom figure is gonna be a top 10 figure of the year for 2020. Just an excellent sculpt. Cape is a little heavy but daredevil 19 is making some great cloth capes for this figure.
Bought this on the second hand market for a reasonable price, even before i saw this review, soo happy with it and i think it s hard to top if you see the crap Hasbro produces these days
I don’t consider myself much of a Marvel Legends collector or Fantastic Four fan, but even I decided to pick this one up. It’s just a great looking figure.

Just got this figure and wanted to tell u that the base of Doom’s neck doesn’t just turn, it’s on a whole ball joint
Anthony I was enjoying this Doctor Doom from a visual standpoint and then I watched this review, I can't look at his chest the same again hahaha.

The neck does have a ball/socket to it especially to help compensate for the hood. I think it’s just little stiff that’s all (that’s what she said)

This is true. It actually increases the range he can move his head up and down by a whole lot.

Never expected the "plug" joke lmao. I still will never forgive Mafex for making a perfect Venom... and then make him the same size as Spider-man...
Why is every Venom either gigantic or very disproportionate. We dont ask for much, or at least give us a series that doesnt have 3 extremely obscure characters nobody cares about, so I can finally build a damn figure.
Glad this guy ended up being mostly good. Now I can finally have figures for all three characters of my main UMvC3 team.

Anybody noticed that the right leg is longer than the left leg on the figure?
So I have to say I love this Dr. Doom figure no question. It sort of makes me doubt Hasbro a tad, sure they can be incredible when they want to..but at times...total fail. I personally think they had the thought of "If our new Doctor Doom is trash we will be hurting." So they went above and beyond with this one. Which I'm glad they did and really showed what they can do when they want to overall.

I bought mine recently at GameStop aaaaaaaand it came with two right fists :/ still love it though. I’ve seen some amazing customs with it already. There’s a guy on Instagram who put the Kingdom Come’s Green Lanterns sword in this figure.
It’s still nice 👍 I also think the skirt should be made from cloth material
I’d love to see Hasbro make a Gorr the God Butcher as good as this

Maybe it's just the fanboy in me but I would have to say this is the best iteration of Dr Doom in action figure form. Cape is an easy mod. 10 out of 10 imo. Done collecting once I attain a second one.
I wonder, what if I put my infamous iron man victor head on? That might make thos that much better
