I almost shit a brick when I heard Anthony call the Ultimate Nullifier. At first I was like, “He’s trolling comics fans, he has to be.” How did he end up collecting Comic figures without actually being a comic reader, that’s what I’m left wondering.
Also, the black book is the Darkhold, and I’m fairly certain the red book belonged to the Sorcerer Supreme (then then handed down to Dr. Strange). Can’t recall the name, but that’s his sigil on the cover.

@@locomadman except for when doom went to an alternate universe where Victor Von Doom is a paragon of the utopian universe and Dr Doom literally erased that entire universe so.....
The "red book" is the Book of Vishanti and the "black book" is the Darkhold, two of the most powerful sources of white and black magic in the Marvel Universe.
I gotta say I prefer the newer, more modern Doom look, just because they usually make him look as intimidating as he rightfully should be in recent years.
The accessories alone make this figure which I’m on the fence about, otherwise I’m still infatuated with his appearance as the Infamous Iron Man. I don’t think I could ever bring myself to take it off card if I did purchase one, however.

If this figure had a victor von doom head and better power affects for him, I would have gotten it.
(Oh and the "padlock" is actually a weapon called the ultimate nullifier which can destroy universes and timelines and all that jazz)

The padlock is the Ultimate Nullifier, in which Reed Richards scared away Galactus in Fantastic Four #50. Nuff 'said!
Yeah, I don't understand why they molded it in black, since it has always been drawn as white/silver in the comics, AFAIK.
We should all refer to the ultimate nullifier as the padlock of doom

I prefer this version because back in the day, my cousin got the original vintage one as a Christmas present and I was always jealous of him having it. This feels like having one of my own now.

Definitely prefer the other Doom. This feels a little too...resembling a scarecrow to me, I guess. Sculpt wise it looks good though. Like the books too.
This is a nice release, but I also prefer the previews one. I think the darker colors look better.

I prefer the previous look, just probably because I don't really have an emotional attachment to this version. And, the alternate option for the head is a big plus. Although I will give this doom props for having a really nice look with the different shades and textures on the green.

I was really adamant on not wanting this DOOM release. But I would love to have that cloth piece to add onto my original release DOOM, and recreate the first appearance of DOOM in his outfit when he conquered Latveria in the comics. The cape he acquired from the countries previous king.
Definitely one to keep on that awesome card. I prefer the Super Skrull one

Its honestly a tough call (for me) just because im trying to do classic avengers i have thanos id like to get this one but the first release hits different i do agree doom should be a bit more shiny silver

I think Hasbro only uses realistic guns for exclusives, not GR's. Just something I've noticed.

I like the previous look, but that's hard to find so this one is ok too. I like that he comes with a lot of accessories,but books having the same inside is stupid. Ultinate Nulifer destroys whatever the user wants along with the user.

I prefer the figures looking more like the original comics. But I bought this one because of the nostalgia of the 90's cartoon. I'm having that problem with the ankles, they're really stuck!
I think the day that Hasbro/Marvel Legends advance into soft goods and wired capes will be the day that I stop collecting most imports and high end figures. You can’t deny Marvel Legends sculpt work, articulation, paint (sometimes), and accessories (sometimes)
I think i like the modern look figure more, but like the classic look in the comic.
How do you open the box without damaging it?
I just phase through the box like vision in the marvel movies.

The "padlock"...is the Ultimate Nullifier.lol It's an Infinity Gauntlet level artifact, the O.G one in fact.
My only gripe with it is they made it black. Should be silver like it was in the Walgreens FF Mr. Fantastic release

@@cdubbart if Anthony was actually trolling us, it’s definitely that they made it in all black. The Darkhold & Dr. Strange’s spell book got colour and print; why make the Nullifier look like a walkie-talkie?

Why is this figure greener than mine?
It's a solid release, but they skimped on the detail. Like all of his metal clasps on his inner arms and legs are not painted like they were on the super skrull wave and his eyes are god awful. Really brings the head sculpt down for me. Basically everything on this doom should've been released with the s.s.wave. at least the nullifier and green swirlies along with the books. Great package though. Great review. Since I have the super skrull wave doom this one to me is just, mehh...

There’s some posing for the skirt and the removal of the hard plastic cape needed, but yes.
There’s also the soft goods option, but sometimes I make that the nuclear option if the process is too intrusive.
