I think another big things that makes it impossible to make another nen ability is the nen limitations you set for your ability, while most of these restrictions only affect your ability, others affect you and your nen, for example morel made it so that he can only manipulate smoke made by his pipe, he literally cannot manipulate anything else besides that, and that's a huge restrictions since he is a master manipulator and he has sacrificed so much range for this one ability, he could manipulate all kind of things, or even his pipe to come back to him if it got lost lol, so if he loses his nen ability, he is stuck with those restrictions and he can't do anything with his nen type!

This is a great question. If you lose a skill, do you lose the affinity for whatever it was associated with on the chart? Can you relearn it? There's a bunch of restrictions to learn other's skills. So what if someone just took Crollo's book? Hmm.

I don't think they any restriction from just remaking your hatsu after it stolen but you most likely have to start from scratch we not really seen the aftermath of perma stolen abilities beside the one mafia girl but she was not a trained nen user so she could not remake her hatsu

We've been showcasing the physical abilities of the characters, what nen is on a basic level, and now we're seeing true advanced Nen practices. Chrollo ability "Bandits Secret" already proves you can in fact have multiple Hatsus. His Bookmark was completely unnecessary but it showcased that yes you can totally make new nen abilities. The restrictions on them however don't seem to be very well explained. Chrollo talks about how his condition is annoying for the bookmark but we never really know how that's possible. Then let's take Netero for example. He was literally the embodiment of perfecting a singular technique. Which was proven to not be enough. Look at Gon on Greed Island. What was Gin trying to teach? The cards. The cards were all multiple Hatsus you can use without any training. Which is crazier when you really sit there and take in the reality of just how strong and impressive Greed Island is from a Nen Standpoint. Imagine Chrollo with a Greed Island book. That's how I got to this train of thought. There's already so many cases of multiple Hatsus existing we just don't think about it too hard. Also isn't it interesting the abilities shown to use multiple Hatsus are always a book? Wonder what's the connection.

We have seen plenty of other characters do that, Zeno who is an emitter when he is shaping dragons (transmutation), Ikarugo who is an enhancer (he can possess and manipulate corpses) and turn his tentacle into a gun, Razor is conjuring nen beasts, etc... I think Kastro issue sterns from the fact that he chose a too high level manipulation and conjuration ability without imposing some limitations first. Also, when Chrollo steals another people ability, it's still technically "theirs", right ? So can they still add limitations on their abilities even though they can't use it anymore, just to mess up with Chrollo 🤔

It would make more sense if he was stealing your nen as well which is why he may need you to touch the book and if that is the case I don’t think you can make another ability without some kind of exorcism which would probably result in the ability being removed from the book.

One concept would be to grant someone a temporary phantom troupe membership via yet another chain. The problem with that is the user's interpretation and nature. Kurapika is never going to become a spider, let alone their leader. He has no authority to make more spider legs, nor would he ever want to do so. It is inconceivable for him specifically to create an ability that expands the phantom troupe, since he is hellbent on destroying it for good

If it's the former, that's an incredibly crazy manipulation of memories! If someone has talent, making a new hatsu is mostly just a bit of time and in a way it kind of works like a malevolent exorcism that takes away positive vows with yourself. If it's the latter, I can see it being a potential positive in that a nen user can learn from the limitations of their previous hatsu and make something better if they tried. In the world of nen, I don't feel it's that limiting to start over but it would wholly depend on the period of life of the user. But these are the supposed self-reflection geniuses of humanity. Even a chess master could probably quickly grasp another game if he was basically forced to at gunpoint (with the "at gunpoint" being "you can no longer play chess").

Can someone who's ability was stolen even use Nen still? We've only seen the reaction of Neon, who doesn't no Nen to begin with. Its possible that copying the technique acts as a pseudo-Hatsu block
Then use Orchamz Razor and say 'Yeah duh. Chrollos ability isnt to seal all Nen, it never was.' Of course thy can still use other Hatus, let alone stuff like En
@slevinchannel7589 I was only suggesting two possible scenarios, that copy could leave a person without the ability to use Nen at all, similar to Gon after the election arc, or it blocks ANY expression of Hatsu, leaving them unable to create a new one. Both of those options would prevent someone from making a new Hatsu. We've only seen Neon address not being able to use her power, but since she didn't know any other tenets she wouldn't comment on being unable to use Ren or anything. We also didn't see Kortopi or Shalnark fight Hisoka, the other characters we've seen who leant their powers to Chrollo.

@@slevinchannel7589 I just thought that maybe its possible, I mean nen ability is deeply rooted in one's personality and desires, good example would be kastro, and cheetu, kastro acts on his desires to have an ability he cant use efficiently, while cheetu developed an ability without thinking because he can get another one, if its deeply rooted in once personality maybe gon see different perspective now and since he might train from scratch again maybe he can developed another ability, or another subset of ability like texture surpise and bungee gum, bandits secret and double face, storywise i dont see gon jajankening some dark continent beast, maybe he will gain some complementary nen ability like everytime he hit an opponent without being parriend or block his overall power in physical combat increases like an alternate version of ripper cyclotron however it resets if block or parried

Can someone who's ability was stolen even use Nen still? We've only seen the reaction of Neon, who doesn't no Nen to begin with. Its possible that copying the technique acts as a pseudo-Hatsu block
Then use Orchamz Razor and say 'Yeah duh. Chrollos ability isnt to seal all Nen, it never was.' Of course thy can still use other Hatus,
let alone stuff like En
@slevinchannel7589 I was only suggesting two possible scenarios, that copy could leave a person without the ability to use Nen at all, similar to Gon after the election arc, or it blocks ANY expression of Hatsu, leaving them unable to create a new one. Both of those options would prevent someone from making a new Hatsu. We've only seen Neon address not being able to use her power, but since she didn't know any other tenets she wouldn't comment on being unable to use Ren or anything. We also didn't see Kortopi or Shalnark fight Hisoka, the other characters we've seen who leant their powers to Chrollo.
