Brotha, you need to do a video about the masterpiece berserk from the year 1997. Trust me, it will go be your most clicked video. The harmony around guts, griffith and casca at the beginning and in the end of the solar eclipse, where in my eyes the saddest evolution in whole anime story happend. Nobody can put it in words, what there happend and how much passion Mr. Miura [Rest in Peace] writted. Apologise me, for my english, I am originally from germany haha 😂😢❤

This “Johan sees no value to life” thing isn’t true and has been pretty well debunked already (there’s a 5 hour TH-cam video analyzing Johan that does this best). Johan clearly cares about his sister and that’s regurgitated throughout the show countless times. Idk why this no morality edgelord interpretation of Johan is so appealing and everyone just ignores the 20 times it’s mentioned that he loves his sister.

Thank you. God it's so refreshing to see other people say this haha. My twin brother and I worked so hard with our essays to change this initial interpretation after watching Monster because it was all we saw online! (that Johan wanted to torture and kill his sister) I am so glad the general consensus has shifted.

@@xPrincessGarnetXVI Yeah, comments saying this analysis is genius is really weird. I guess these get recommended to me because of other actually good anaylsis videos I've watched. I also just saw some of your videos and loved the juxtaposition with Johan making Anna pick one of his hands and Franz making his mom pick between him and his sister. I noticed the similarities (or really the differences) in these two scenes and haven't seen many people talk about it.

This character was so powerful like the legendary character Joker(for me). But in terms of a full embodied character that exploits the human nature and character called manipulation. It is used in every aspect of our life but people are too paradoxical and self conscious to realize it.
Manipulation is the far-most human nature which can be deceiving but it brings out or undercovers and strips true human nature or identity.
Thanks to the author for bringing it I always wondered why people are not talking about this character but now I am blissed to see this on your video.

Good job. Johann stands as one of the most sophisticated villains of all time, a precursor to another character who is in the same orbit as him, that being Makashima from psycho-pass. One could argue that Makashima was a necessary evolution, because Johann was so complete in his villainy. The evolution being this: if Johann is one who rips things asunder to prove them meaningless, Makashima rips them to find out if there was ever any meaning at all to the human life. A different villain. Just as brutal. Sophisticated. But taking that villain-concept to another degree, because Johann is so comprehensive in his own way, there is no way to go further with him or be original. So therefore, Makashima. Consider Makashima next. Be good to see what you would make of his story and his philosophy.
    God rest

    Great video. 🔥💯
I think, for Your last question, MONSTER ending somehow answers it. Within all hope is silver of doubt. Within all despair silver of hope.
Tenma decided, what he decided, but even that "dream" scene is testament of still questioning his own "all lives are equal" believes.
Same like Johan, who all life tried to find person, that proves him, life GOT meaning.
Johan try grab hope, I think. He WANTS to be proven wrong. That is why he puts people to test. Kids are most innocent, so shouldn't be cruel. Detective should stick to justice. Schuwald found meaning, passed Johan test ironically.
Johan test to Anna and Tenma is his last hope.
If THEY fail, he was right since a start. 🫠
Anna and Tenma are his "family". Reason to his existance. So...if THEY would break, he no longer got anything to prove. Because if THEY break, he was right. So his meaningless existance will only be further torture.
And so, when Tenma find no one in Johan's bed, WE can ask ourselves.
Did Tenma PROVE Johan's philosophy? If not accidental addition to plan, that shoot, before Tenma did. Would Tenma, our hope embodiement break?
Anime leaves us with this question for us to answer.
    ARE all lives indeed "equal"?
    Masterpiece.

    Fiction’s Most Popular Nihilists
    1.) Joker
    2.) Rick Sanchez
    3.) Johan Liebert
    4.) Owl Man

I think Joker, like Johan, wanted to be proven wrong.

@ Joker’s more lost than Johan , Batman proved him wrong at The End Of Killing Joke , & Joker straight up denied Batman out of emotional anger.

    • @mbuszka5295
      @mbuszka5295 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@bendu8282 Didn't Joker proved Batman, that he can't kill him, in the end, as they need each other? 😊
With Johan and Tenma, irony is, Johan partly won, by planting seed of doubt in Tenma. Even if he denies it.
And with Batman, I think, we can partly say same. Joker also makes Batman understand darkness in him.
Like Tenma knows, probably, with boy life in danger, he WOULD shoot. And is it not ABSOLUTE fail for his "all lives equal"? When he was about chose boys life, above Johan's? Even if its illogical by deeper analyse, its enough to plant doubt.
      And Joker did exactly same.
You think, You are team "good guys"? But if they don't see You as good, are You "good"?
Antagonists role is making Protagonists question and second guess themselves.
Isn't Joker, like Johan for Tenma, voice of doubt in his head? 🤔

Joker isn't a true nihilist..it's hard to categorize him with a single branch of philosophy- anarchism+nihilism+ hedonism is the closest you can get but it's still not there.

    • @bendu8282
      @bendu8282 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@ Joker is a Hedonistic Nihilist/Nihilistic Hedonist, not a traditional nihilist but still a variation of it. His beliefs are that nothing matters because everything is a joke so everyone should follow their own chaotic desires instead of living by what he believes to be false moral codes or societal structures. That’s why he points out moral codes, legal laws and all forms of order can be easily torn down by chaos and that people who believe in traditional moral values like Batman are lying to themselves. His philosophies thread on Nihilism, Absurdism , Anarchism, Hedonism, and of course Chaos, but The Nihilism is the most important factor since it’s the starting point that leads him to these other philosophies since his “one bad day” as he calls it drives him to the point that he believes everything’s a joke which generally stands for nothing’s serious or valuable, reality to him is a just a series of chaotic accidents meant to represent a cruel cosmically twisted humor.
