Best tutorial for SP drum sampling workflow on TH-cam. Hands down. Thank you.
Thanks for tuning in! 💯
That subharmonic thing is pretty great.
it's one of the things it does really well indeed!
Another nugget of gold, brother. Killer tutorial
thanks Jose appreciate it!
Those drums was definitely Raekwon the Chef.. "Ay yo yo, what up yo time is runnin' out" Incarcerated Scarfaces
🐊
Nice workflow. I usual find my self finishing on tape when I do use tape.
definitely! do you prefer cassette or R2R?
@@100PercentBOOTLEG Cassette for me.
Great video 👑 really helps me with these tips & refreshing my mind.
thats awesome! thanks for tuning in
Sick tutorial man thanks!
my dawgg
So much gold, thanks a lot
thanks 4 tuning in!
even though it's a 404-specific video, i think this workflow applies pretty well to any sampler from that era. i have a zoom st224, and the chopping & resampling workflow fits right in with how that thing works. great tutorial!
Yo! thanks for that insight! I always thought the sampletrak224 sounded rawand seemed ike a cool piece, but never copped one.... maybe i'll start searching again. 💯
This helped so much with my chops 🙏🙏🙏
〰〰
I don't have a SX I just have an old SP-404 but this video is still such a massive help. Thank you!
happy to help out 🌊🌊
when i see this i get in such a mood to do like a whole mini ep with a sp404
love when that mood hits!
ive definitely used a few of those beats on my own in the past :p
nice! 💯
good stuff bro, good stuff !
ty! 〰〰
YESS YESS
YESSS! all hail the mighty 404!🤩
amazing tutorial
thanks for tuning in!
@@100PercentBOOTLEG mpc user here.. learning the SP in stand alone is hard. I typically only use it as an external audio device to use its filters/effects 🤣 but I def wanna make beats on it
@@obscurewax nice man! yeah, I love my mpc(s) too, but they are so very different and each has it's strong points!! happy beatmaking bro!
Bro we need more! Nice to see a tutorial with someone with the sauce 👌 I come from an mpc background and been using the 404mk2 but got a sx I really wanna start making shit on! Would love to see more videos. As the thing is quite baffling 🤣
Appreciate that! Yeah pretty much opposite workflow of MPC -- you gotta commit on the SP😅 Gonna get to making some more vids hopefully soon.
Knockin!
🥁 thank you!
Thank you for going in depth to share these thought processes and tricks! Also if you can make a video to explain how to work on finger drumming that would be great! Right now I record kicks, snares, hats separately because I don’t know how to finger drumming at all
IMO: Basic finger drumming technique is best learned with separate kick, snare, hats, open hats, etc... You can get a feel for what hand is responsible for each different element. Then when you get the hang of where you like your sounds, you can figure out programming pads that have more than just a one-shot (ie; multiple drums, part of a break, or even a section of a song with multiple elements) I remember kids in middle school banging beats on top a metal trashcan with a fist and a pencil... it's kinda like that
and you got the no good racing logo, man you got me....
honda power!
ive got so much to learn lol
have fun with it!
osaka =)
🤘you know it!
super interesting to watch i can’t wait to sample random shit off my phone and create beautiful art with my sx coming soon
oh nice! have fun chopping!〰〰
more plz 😀
bout to do one on MPC 1000 / jjosxl2
circle back
😍😍 Moore. We want on sp 404og 😍😍👍
thanks alot, more soon!
What is you video and audio setup? It’s super clean coming through
thanks 4 tuning in! for this video I used a TRS to TRRS attenuator cable coming out of a spare headphone output from my interface. So pretty much mono line level straight into an iPhone
i wonder how you get cassette tapes with samples on them
Every so often I'll record a bunch of samples from vinyl, other tapes, video games, movies, internet, etc.. onto a cassette. Makes for a little mini library of easy access samples, with tapey tones to boot
Where is the drum samples from that’s on the tape?
all over the place, but a bunch of it is available here:
