Question for you, and I hope you can help or think of any information. I am thinking of getting an x52 Pro. I see in several advertisement type pictures that the LCD on the throttle portion has a readout of the Radio Stack Panel. However, my question is, does this x52 Pro throttle LCD and buttons allow you to change / modify / set radio frequencies by using the scroll buttons underneath the LCD, or is that LCD readout for *display* only? Reason is, if I can use the x52 Pro as also a Radio Stack adjustor, then I'm interested (so I don't have to buy separate radio stacks which cost over $150 US a piece, anyways). Thank you for reading.
Yes, you can use the scroll buttons to change radios or whatever is displaying on the LCD. X52luaout that I wrote does just this in addition to controlling the leds. X52luaout works only for X-Plane. Logitech provides plugins for various simulators, but these are much more limited than x52luaout. So, for any given simulator/game, you're dependent on an a plugin either from Logitech or any third party that might do what you want. The x52 pro joystick won't do it just out of the box.
@@erkswede9807 Thanks. I guess I'm getting closer to purchasing an x52 Pro. I'm still new to all this, only got Xplane about two weeks ago, and have only flown with Cessna and Cirrus small jet. I still might be a little concerned that the LCD display on the throttle would fully cover all Coms (and "transponder", etc) needs, as some youtubers seem to have *multiple* radio stacks... It's quite neat that the X52luaout has various flashing lights as warnings, as I've forgotten to pull up landing gear (or put it down) a number of times... Are you saying that once I get the x52 Pro, that I should not install any other drivers or software and instead choose to go straight to x52Luaout? Another youtuber said the standard x52 driver was indeed important, but the Saitek/Log software created lots of problems for many people... Also, wondering, what does Luaout mean? Oh yah, I'm also wondering what is the middle marker warning (shown in your video at 2:18 and 4:52. Thanks. Good day.
@@mikem.2078 Going straight to x52luaout is indeed an option. You still need a driver installed of course. I've written about this in the documentation for x52luaout. Download it, unzip and look into the docs folder. X52luaout compared to the Logitech plugin can be summed up in flexibility. When the Logitech plugin decides for you which information in which pages should be visible on the LCD, x52luaout gives you the possibility to define any number of pages containing whatever information is available in X-Plane. Luaout is just a name, but it derives from Lua, which is the script language in which it's written (mostly), and out stand for output, referring the leds and lcd. What you see in the video about the middle marker is when my aircraft passes over a radio beacon on the ground that the plane detects and indicates to the pilot via an indicator on the panel and an audio signal. You should head over to forums.x-plane.org, lots of more people there to answer your questions.

Hi erkswede. I just came across this video today, and I just can't believe my luck. What you have done with your script is exactly what I set out to do a couple of days ago - but without knowing if it could be done. Your video shows that it can! Alas, what you have done here only works for X-plane, but I can see that the command interface "passerelle" should work for FSX and P3D at least in 32 bit. This gives me hope that it should be possible to port to P3Dv4+ as well. Yes, I've seen that there is also something called FlyWithLua involved, and that may be a showstopper, but I still want to have a gio at it. Hi Sven! I've actually moved away from Passerelle as that was dependent on the original driver/software from Logitech. Now I use a filter driver instead that givers me access to all joystick functions under windows as well. FlyWithLua is critical for this script. You need something similar for P3D/FSX. In X-Plane we have "datarefs" which essentially is a way to access variables inside X-Plane. These datarefs are both read and write which is necessary for X52LuaOut to work. FlyWithLua provides access to the datarefs and also a fully functional Lua interpreter/compiler. You need something similar to access variables inside P3D/FSX to port. I'm not really sure what your asking but, again, this won't work in P3D. The pluging I wrote, X52LuaOut, consists of a main Lua-script which is run under FlyWithLua for X-Plane: forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/35579-flywithlua-core-edition-for-x-plane-11-windows-linux-mac-os-x-version/ The plugin also contains "command handlers", small programs that passes commands from the main Lua script to the X52-joystick. Under windows this is a Lua script that uses Passerelle library: github.com/chrilith/Passerelle So, in an attempt to answer your question, the color of the leds are changed by the main script, via the command handler. The changes occur according to a definition file where one can assign different leds, and colors, to certain changes in X-Plane via Datarefs (X-Plane specific variables).

There are some profiles around the internet. Just google "x52 pro configuration" and you will get good results. For this video I have made a rather simple setup. Some of the buttons are: A and B - Different lights. T1 and T2 - Flaps up and down. T3 and T4 - Landing gear up and down. D - Engines start. E - Main battery.
also, in the vid, it looks like you got the throttle LEDs to be white, is that actually white (if so how do you do that) or is it just amber coming through oddly. (ik how to turn on the throttle leds)
@@redvemr they are not white, just bad video quality. If I remember correctly the color of the throttle leds can not be altered, but they do turn red the last say 10% up to full, but that is hardware controlled.
It might work in Linux or OSX but not in Windows (Saitek doesn't provide an API for the non pro AFAIK). Unfortunately I don't have access to a X52 non pro for testing.

X52LuaOut contains a default profile (or definition/XML file) which givers you some basic functionality in any aircraft.
X52LuaOut works for X-Plane 10 & 11 under Windows, Mac and Linux. Which plane you're flying shouldn't be an issue as long as it uses the normal button and axis assignment within X-Plane. I haven't tested on any third party aircraft though.

erkswede current unable to get access to the website sorry. Also the version of LUA is the same in the download as the script and my xplane 11 version is 11.30 rc1 I get a LUA error stating that there is an error in the code on line 646 = nil value its issues to do with the log file

Kopieren zum "My_x52LuaOut_definitions". Bitte nicht der "include" dateien fergessen. Entschuldige mein schlechtes deutsch.

I'm afraid not, only red, green and amber. (Except for the mode switch LED which is hard coded red, purple and blue)

No, x52luaout is only for X-Plane. I dont use P3D so I dont know how to make that work, sorry.

Does this work with the non pro x52?

Throttle unit led lights do not work on Mac computer ,x plane 10.
