I have an even greater appreciation for pilots. I'd love to see a checklist, there were hundreds of steps throughout, and it's mind boggling thinking about all of the systems to perform what seems like a simple A to B. I knew it was more complex, but this is wild.

Most of these components are sold online and the simulator is able to recognize them. Some guys also use to program arduino boards to make their own controls, but this case seems to be a professional made stuff.

Why do you don't use the ground spoilers !? After take off, positive climb gear up and then desengage the ground spoilers And when the main gear touches down the runway during landing normaly the ground spoilers deploy automaticaly or you should deploy them.

In many ways, the modern flight simulator is a more impressive technological human achievement than real flight. Some are indistinguishable from reality to the casual spectator.
And all the passengers on the right knocked their heads at the windows when he left the runway :) :) :) At the final end he was confused about all the buttons i think. I expect a cold and dark cockpit
I think he actually did. It was a pure random flipping fest. Unless it was some kind of test procedure to enable/disable stuff but it looked just weird, like you said " better get my money out of this thing and flip those switches ! " 🙂
True craftsmanship building that pit. If the Captain and First Officer both had fish, and there wasn’t another pilot onboard, you could possibly fill in. At least you would know the switch locations! You must love the flying the Heavy’s, if I was to put that much time and money into a simulator I’d have to do a fighter. Nice work!
There seems to be a common aspect about these guys with amazing projects like this(plane simulators, racing simulators, motorcycle simulators, boat builders, airplane builders, fantastic house and backyard projects etc.). None of them have a ring on that ring finger. Note taken.

I can tell you, as a a320 pilot: it's still as fun for me and I wouldn't mind spending a few hours in a simulation to fly routes I don't get to fly in the real world. The plane is an absolute joy to fly. Maybe it'll change in 20 years, but now it's still as fun as when I began.

I was waiting for the shaking and whining of the nosewheel after retraction (worn snubbers and nosewheel shimmy ftw), but I guess you've simulated a new one, and not one with shall we say 'some wear and tear' ;) Also I see you have the newer push button switches on some overhead selectors, as opposed to the older ones from the 1960's.....in my company that's called HERESY, AND MUST BE CLEANSED AND BURNED. Jimmy LeFirst I know right! Last week some guy yelled at me on VATSIM for taking off from an inactive runway which used to be active just a few mins earlier but changed once I got to the runway! Also, most of these simmers are armchair warriors anyway. :(
Very good video... I do place Anti-collision lights to on when starting engines and position lights to steady. When approaching runway for T/O I place position lights to strobe.
It looks like he manually flew the plane down the glide slope. Not an easy task in a 737. Impressive! I laughed out loud how he came off the runway to the gate. That was awesome. 😂

I have a question: when you sit as a passenger in the cabin of an airbus and the airplane has already start the engines, you hear a distinct noise before taxing to the runway. It sounds like a failed attempt to start a normal car engine. What is the origin of this sound?

The expense of building would likely pay for a pilots licence but perhaps the builders background is electronics and what is not mentioned is did he start 10 years ago as a hobby that just got out of control and led to this. Absolutely magnificent. Changing up to 2020 ms sim will be straightforward if you have a mega graphics card. Fabulous and hateful to see the many negative comments from those envious at your successful build. Enjoy and can you leave this to me in the Will ?

Ron Patterson i sourced parts from everywhere. Most second hand. The overhead and mip was build and wired by myself. Cost without the screens and pc was for me approximately 3k because i had parts like old pc’s and screens laying around

Rob Stolk My structure will be like yours. I have MCP and EFIS, both version 2, and the MIP is based in Opencockpits cards and electronics. Are you using Pikitanga and Kuikueg (users from x-plane.org) plugin and scripts to make your Open hardware functional?
Luiz Cláudio Pena yes but i use it only for my fmc. Other panels are wired to a arduino (plugin was not available at the time of the build). Mcp and efis are cpflight.

let it be no. It all depents on a 1000 things. I got the screens for cheap etc. from the time building i guess not more the 5k. But then again i had a lot of stuff laying around or got them really cheap. (Like the pc’s and displays)

Some pilots do fly in Adidas pants and t shirts. Though those are mostly long haul cargo pilots.

I build it in 2 to 3 months. I had it for 6 months, sold it last year in parts. Now focusing on the motion race flight sim. Look at my other video’s

Rob Stolk My structure will be like yours. I have MCP and EFIS, both version 2, and the MIP is based in Opencockpits cards and electronics.
Are you using Pikitanga and Kuikueg (users from x-plane.org) plugin and scripts to make your Open hardware functional?
Luiz Cláudio Pena yes but i use it only for my fmc. Other panels are wired to a arduino (plugin was not available at the time of the build). Mcp and efis are cpflight.

let it be no. It all depents on a 1000 things. I got the screens for cheap etc. from the time building i guess not more the 5k. But then again i had a lot of stuff laying around or got them really cheap. (Like the pc’s and displays)
