- Romanian cords are flat cords with a striking texture that is the same on both sides. They're a perfect option for things like drawstrings, ties, bag handles, straps, or even belts! The easy technique starts with 2 setup stitches, and then is just one simple stitch repeated for the desired length of your cord.

You are a life-saver! I was so, so stuck trying to understand written instructions of how to do this for a bag strap. My brain couldn't comprehend it at all. Thank you so much for explaining this so efficiently!
Glad it helped! Sometimes you just need to SEE it :)
Same here, it was very confusing when it was written but I got it immediately after watching this video ^^

Great instructions. The only one that slowly and patiently took the time to explain this confusing procedure in explicit detail. I watched others and came back to this one. Then, suddenly, I got it!! Thank you for your talent and patience. Highly recommend!!

I loved loved these instructions. New to cording, using this one for cat or dog leash.
awesome! Are you using yarn? or a different material?
@@StitchesnScraps I used 1 strand of yarn at first but then tore that apart and used 2. Worked great. No give in cord at all
@@crystalhewitt4652 nice! I would be interested to hear how it holds up over time with such a heavy-duty use.
@@StitchesnScraps I have a feeling that it will do just fine. I crochet various things for different rescues so I won’t know that actual outcome
thank you so much 👍👍
You're welcome!
Hi Pia! Thank you so much for this, you made it so easy. Do you have a video showing how to properly attach the romanian cord to an attached d ring?
Thanks! :) I don't, but here's what I would do. I would leave the tails on the cord and not weave them in yet. Then I'd fold the end of the cord over the d ring and back on top of itself (like make a loop), so that it overlaps at least 1-2 inches. Then I'd use the tail to sew that down securely. If you don't like the way it looks at the end, you can cover up the join with a metal crimp.
Gracias 🤗🤗🇨🇱🇨🇱
Thank you :)
You're welcome! :) Glad you liked it
Thank s
Thanks!♥

Formidabil, ați explicat atât de frumos și senin, încât eu, fiind româncă am înțeles! Sărut mâna, stimată doamnă!
Ce compliment frumos! Ma bucur ca ti-a placut :)

This was so helpful! I'm working on a written pattern and the instructions with pictures for the Romanian cord were just not helping 😅 thanks!
Yep this is definitely one of those techniques you have to see once to wrap your head around! :)
Can you make a bracelet out of this cord?
Sure, just sew the ends together 🙂
How can i finish the cord?
Great question! :) You're left with 1 loop on the hook after every stitch, so just fasten off the way you would for any other crochet project. Cut the yarn (leaving a tail to weave in), and pull up on the loop to make it bigger until the tail comes all the way through. Then weave in the ends.
I am romanian
cool :)
