Then they're brought to a derelict steamer ship captained by a notorious vicious ugly captain everyone feared. The men were tossed into the ship's hold until they were out to sea. Kidnapped to work on the ship. That tavern shyster with the mustache is David White -- played Darrin's boss in the TV comedy Bewitched. That real big dude Busthead Brannigan that Hoss comes across is non-other than legendary horror-flick actor Tor Johnson. Too bad they didn't write into the script Tor passing by on the dock & helping Hoss & the Cartwrights. Would have been exciting. When Hop Sing introduces his Chinese friend to Hoss -- that's a young James Hong. He was the maitre d' on Seinfeld's famous episode where they never get a table in the restaurant & they're going to the movies. Ironically, the film they miss by waiting for that table in that episode is "Plan 9 From Outer Space," -- which co-starred Tor Johnson. Hong was also the evil guy in Kurt Russell's classic "Big Trouble In Little China." The bartender is character actor Herb Vigran -- who was a mobster in several "Superman" episodes with George Reeves.

Many TV shows/Movies do NOT age well but Bonanza gets *BETTER* with age. Timeless classic you can watch again and again.
My grandmother put me onto this show. It's really great viewing . Exciting but feel good show with good messages in it .
