    Excellent video dude! First one I’ve had the time to watch the day it dropped in months 🤣
    I was not at all expecting number 1, lol, but you’re absolutely right. The power of networking is beneficial beyond just acquiring animals. I would be willing to bet my care standards are as high as they are as a result of networking and meeting real relatable people that are doing better then myself and pushing myself to achieve those same standards. Not to mention the collective vast array of knowledge within network circles. I can say without a doubt I wouldn’t have been given the opportunities I have to care for some awesome animals had I not gotten more involved within portions of the community (while also steering clear of others, but that’s a whole other can lol).

    Ive bought and rescued turtles and tortoises and theres just a better feeling knowing you helped not only a person but an animal in a hard situation and to be able to help the animals overcome there previous living situations

    Big on adoptions. There are many different reptiles out there that need new homes.

      It’s extremely rewarding to work with animals in need and find suitable arrangements for them.

    Craigslist is kind of hit or miss when it comes to turtle/tortoise adoptions. I lucked out and found a great Ornate Box from someone who took excellent care of him, but could no longer provide adequate care. Next week I'm adopting a Three-Toed Box from a person who had no idea how to care for a box turtle (thought it could go in a pond with sliders).

    In my eyes the best thing you can do for a turtle or tortoise is adopt it,

    Do you think it will be possible to have aquatic plants in a cooter plastic tub without having it eat everything instantly?

    • @GregsTurtleHaven
      @GregsTurtleHaven  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would want to head start the plants and get them big and established, and feed the cooter well

    When I was a Boy (15 years ago or so) I picked up a 🐢 who was closing the road and kept it for some time. Now it is not possible or ethical. 😉

    Would encourage anyone looking to purchase a RES to stop and talk to a local fish store or aquarium. A lot of people surrender them and if you can prove you can provide a proper home for them, often times you can get them very cheap or even free. I know the local reptile store in the area I just moved to has about a dozen sliders of different sizes that all need homes.
