We try out the Little Giant 3 step stool as a stair system for our Travel Lite camper and are pleasantly surprised how good these things are built. They work perfectly

Just the video I needed to see. While I am abke to use a regular ladder my dog has short stubby legs and is scared of the regular ladder. He weighs 35 pounds so it would be nice to not have to pick him up every time he goes in or it if the camper. Sometimes I wonder his lying before I really get hurt with the regular ladder too.

I've had one of those for several years and it's more like a staircase than a ladder. I ended up drilling out the rivets and removing the tool tray because it would tend to dig into the dirt or gravel. I can reattach it with small bolts for use around home as it's very handy to have a tray and a way to hang a paint can or whatever.

I love how the stairs are so wide, much more comfortable on the feet than a small step ladder almost like a regular stair tread

Exactly what we need. My wife and I appear to be about your age. We've lost our Gazelle status as well. Great review. Thanks!

Well, we bought the two step model. We have a fold down step on the camper so it is the perfect height. Thanks again for the info.

Nice. Others about that size don’t have the fold away upper-handle, so they can’t be used as camper steps. Thanks!

Mike Mead Ya we looked at so many at Home Depot and Menards then spotted this. The other nice feature is how wide the steps are, a nice feature in the late evenings or night. And as a bonus I could probably use it around the house as well

If you cut off the top of the handle where the parts organizer is would the ladder still be stable and then you'd have a bar on either side to hold onto getting in and our

I would imagine it would still be stable but as far as using the cut part as a railing I would have no idea

Hey there, Mario from Quebec. So I am using my 3 step Little giant step as well in my truck camper. I noticed that you just slide it in your camper. My problem is that once I hit the gravel, that thing will bounce on my little furnace for sure. I have been throwing it in the back of the pick up but on wet trips, all the dry gear inside the truck get wet, muddied from the ladder. What I'm trying to say is have you come up with a storeage alternative for your step or you just slide it in the camper still? Thanks!

I have cheap Walmart mats in our camper so if it’s wet and dirty it drips on the mats, which go outside once we set up anyway but ya I know what you are saying. As far as bounce we lay it flat on the floor on top of the mats and put our outdoor shelter etc. On top of it

I am trying to determine if I need a 3 step or a 4 step. Per my googling a 3 step the top step is roughly 26.25 inches from the ground. When camper is on your truck is that how high your backend is? My truck is 39in from ground to bottom of tail gate.
You are the only video I can find about using for this purpose. Great vid

I just went out and measured and 26 1/4 on the third step is correct Mine is sitting on saw horses right now at 33 inches and its a short step up and into the camper so it would be a comfortable step up into your camper at 39 . There are just under 9 inches in between each step a 4 step would put you close to the top step being level with your entrance, so depending on you and your families needs that decision is up to you, hope my info helps mate. Our entrance is 28 inches on the truck so personally at 39...and it could be 40-41 if you use your jacks like we do to level (lift of the suspension) so personally with my wifes hip I would go with a 4 step but again your decision.

My tailgate sits at 33 inches and the steps at 26 1/4 inches I have an HD pack leaf spring arrangement so it does not squat too much with the camper on

Hi, Thanks for the review. It is very helpful. Question for you: Do you have any idea the height of your camper entrance in the video? Mine is roughly 32" and I'm trying to decide between the 2-step and 3-step models. Thanks!

    • @HKsOutdoorAdventures
      @HKsOutdoorAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Mine is between 33 and 28 inches depending on terrain and how much I use the jacks to level a bit. The steps are 26 1/4 inches so either way a comfortable slight step up into the camper which I think would be better than something too high

@@HKsOutdoorAdventures Thanks so much for the reply. I'm thinking this means you'd go with the 3-step over the 2-step in my case. Is that correct? Unfortunately, I don't have a place where I can try them out prior to purchasing. Thanks again.

@@NeufsVideos if you are at 33 a two step would be a big stretch up onto the camper I would think. Amazon was really good and it only took a few days to get to me, there is nowhere here that sells them so it was my only option but it is one hell of a well made product and I have used it around the house for painting as well
